And run them around 3-4kw RMS. But there is second option also 2x15" subs, what do you think, what would be nicer ? 2x15 or 4x12 ? i prefer 4x12. Hit me up with ideas

Here is the tech/how-to link that on here that I will refer to later: Big 3 How-to I did the big 3 today in my car, (see sig for equipment/etc.), and I noticed something odd, (to me). A week or two before I actually did the upgrade, I had checked my voltage with a DMM for shiggles up front and on the amp. 12.5. Today after the upgrade, the voltage was 14.4ish, (moved around a little; no more than a tenth of a volt), front and back on amp. Both readings were taken with the car idling. This is good right? This was supposed to happen? Another question; on the link it says to fuse the alternator to battery positive wire with a fuse the same size as the factory fuse. I …

dont bash this idea to hard but id like to hear some thoughts on it. alittle info: dad drives a 03 f150 and his equipment right now is a Panasonic hu, polk db 5.25" coax upfront and a cheapy clarion sub (4ohm svc) in a box behind the center console in the backseat and a 2 channel amp that is bridged to the sub. amp is a walmart sony xplod... so we're talking maybe 150x2 @ 4 ohms (probably less). my idea: make him a tri way crossover... (really i just want to mess around to see if it works) so, if i understand the idea, i would set the amp to full range and design a passive xover for the speakers. so the sub would be bridged to 4 ohms and a lpf will be used @ ~70hz and …

My girlfriend has a 2010 Elantra and wants a basic system that'll sound good and have decent output. She really likes the look of DC subs and I already know DC makes good quality stuff. I'd like to get her a single Level 3 12 in a nice box made my Pound that Sound or Fisher Customs. The amp that caught y eye to power the Level 3 12 is a Kicker ZX750.1. Is that a good quality amp?

I want to set up my new, (refurbished actually but it's new to me) Sundown SAZ-1000D right, so I need some legit test tones. First question: What tones do I need? I know I'm looking for a 50Hz tone to set the gain, but is that a "50Hz sine wave" or "50Hz mono-tone"? I've seen both, so I'm confused. Square waves? Sine waves? I have a very loose grasp on these things, but I think that a square wave=clipping and a sine wave shows the maximum gain setting before clipping... I'm so confused... What other tones do I need, if any? Second question: On that pinned thread on how to set your gains under amp/head units main section, it gives two links for tones to download, a…

Well, on the Fisher Customs site, there is an enclosure for sale for a HDC3 15", 4.02 @ 36 hz.. Then I look at their loaded enclosures and there is the SSA ICON 15", 4.0 Cubic Feet, Tuned to 32 hz.. I'm going for something more SPL, based. I love the lows, but I also like the sub to be able to go through the higher ranges nicely too. So I'm not too sure which to go with? Any opinions and experienced users of either with some stories would be nice. Note this will be in a Honda Civic 2005 coupe, I will do what I have to do to make the box fit... but if anyone else has a Civic I'd like to now how easy it is to fit 4.0 cubes in the trunk. I will be swapping vehicles after the…

I have 5.38 cubes after displacements other than port. My tuning is 32hz. I have an 8'' port going 12.75'' in the box, 12.75'' is my limit because I want 8'' of clearance from the bottom of port to bottom of box. Anyways, I have 12.75'' in and I have 7.8'' out of the box for a total of about 20.6'' of port. The port inside the box takes up .38 cubes so that leaves me with 5^3 inside the box after displacements. I think I have too much port length on the outside of the box, but I can still cut the port down. Any idea on what it should be?

I am a Mecp advanced level installer working on my masters certification, and I was just wondering I work for Best Buy and the certifications are mainly for pay raises because you make a lot more if your certified. Anyway my question is how much does the certifications matter outside of buisness like Best Buy. I have looked at a lot of job opportunites and none of them really seem to care if your certified or not as long as you can install.
