Just got my order in and it was a pain to carry it all. 9 box each weighing about 45lbs a piece. Never knew 6.5in speakers could weigh so much but i guess when they come in boxes of 6 it gets heavy. I need to take a pic. But if anyone is interested in CDT products i am now taking orders via email. Store shopping cart isn't up yet but the site is a go Click Here for AlterAudioUSA If you order via email please noted your SSA name so i can give you a discount and also watch for when i post the SSA discount code when i get my shopping cart up.

  3. This my current situation: 2006 Honda Accord coupe, stock everything. I plan on keeping the stock door speakers and just adding a subwoofer. I have: Pioneer DEH-p6000 headunit Sundown SAE-1000D amp SSA 10" Icon Subwoofer I had everything hooked up in my xterra, but recently sold that and bought the accord. This is what the radio/climate control area looks like The only adapter I have found is this for ~$150 which I think looks pretty bad. Ignore the lower headunit in that picture. I am thinking about just buying an AUX or Ipod input for music, and staying with the stock headunit. I did some research, and it seems like a line out converter would allow me to hook up m…

Well i just put 100 dollars in the bank and was bout to send the money to crescendo to get their new mp6 pa mids, come to find out they ran out of stock 2 days ago!!! they said they still have some 8 ohm versions left for sale. i was gonna run 4 on a mb quart onx 4.125. well i planned on using the front channels for the mids and the rear for my tweets. well i cant buy the 4 ohm versions so would it be better to get the 8 ohm and run them 2 on left front channel and 2 on the right front channel for half the power i would have been getting, or wait 43 days til the 4 ohms get back in stock?

i have a 2000 ford taurus with a 1500w rms powerbass amp and two 12" kicker cvx's. does anyone have any experience with the taurus for bass? basically i am wondering how involved it would be to upgrade the + wire from my 130 amp alternator (my lights dim and voltage drops), and how well the car handles bass. i am trying to decide whether or not to dynamat extreme the trunk.

Okay, so i am wanting to build a box for my two Sa-12s. The width of the box is 40" The height is 13" The depth is 16" The total box volume without subwoofer displacement or port displacement is 3.709. Im trying to get a frequency of 35hz. I want to go with an aero port but im not really sure what would be a good size? I did the online calculators and for a 6" aero it would need to be about 12" long. My only concern is if this is going to be enough port area for two Sa-12s? If its not what could i do to get a good port area for theses subs?

Hey guys, long time since i've actually posted on here. I've recieved my 2 12' FI Q's a few months ago, and i have to say, great subs. Beastly handling, but what i'm about to show you is kind of pathetic. I took my first video of these subs, and i have to say it isn't the best, but it gets the general idea of what i need to work and improve on. First i'd like to say that i'm only 16 and i had minimal help in installing this system. Therefore i didnt have any money to invest in a deck or any half decent equipment , what can you do when you don't have money? So here it is: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TaACs2NjaEA Its not really a video to show off, but i'm seeing it as mo…

Ok, today was the first time ina long while that I have built a box away from my old shop. These are a few things I learned / remembered while building a box today. 1. Measure twice, cut once (this goes for the cuts on the woodas well as the overall size of the enclosure). I made a few bad cuts and ended up building one box too large. Grrr. If you are going to cut it wrong, be sure do it larger than what is needed. 2. A pneumatic or electric brad nailer is the way to go! I was doing it the old fashioned way with a hammer and finishing nails. There was some frustration with bent / broken nails as well as the lack of speed. 3. A jigsaw may cut wood, but it is a far cry fro…

Ok, so I've done a lot in car audio, and have used a dmm to set gains before, but it was a cheap one from radio shack and i don't feel it was really worth crap even using. Never blown any speakers, but also know I've never had a perfectly correctly set gain on an amp. I just do it by "feel", "sound" and performance. natural abilities you may say, complete crap you may even say! lol but hey it's worked so far but i'm tired of trusting myself. What oscilloscope has anyone used? know of? how much? where? and what will do the trick/be best for setting gains? Thanks in advance i'm very interested!

i know i kinda talked about this before, but i wanted to update what i was doin. i have 2 psi 18s in seperate enclosures. Before i had only .50ft of port area in each box according to Torres. now i have about .98 which is double the port area than before. it apperently brought my tuning from about 31hz to 36 or so hz according to Torres. will this still be ok for daily? Was this a good idea or do you thing i will regret doing this? not quite finnished with this change..your thoughts.....

So I will be pairing the 4 ohm Crescendo STS-1 Silk dome tweeters with 4ohm Crescendo PWX 6.5's . The tweeters came with crossovers just for the tweeters. Amp is a nvx jad800.4 which does 125 x 4 @ 4 ohms. if I have the pwx's hooked up to channels 1 & 2, can I connect the tweeters on channel 3 & 4 and essentially barely increase the input sensitivity on those channels? Doesn't seem accurate whatsoever to me and I am thinking I could seriously fry my tweeters from the get go. Would that still be considered going passive with tweeter crossovers or am I diving into active territory? Am I better off getting a different passive crossover that I can connect both pwx &a…

My e12 came in the mail today (sweet sub btw!) so I put it in my custom sub box in the car to see how it looks (2.00cuft tuned 32hz) and the sub hole is sliiiightly too small (won't fit completely flush). Any ideas on how to make this work? I suppose sanding down the hole till the sub can fit flush. What would be the easiest and safest way to get the sub to fit? I know for sure that I want to use this box, so another box isn't an option. (paid $120 for box) they even said oversized subs may require slight mod to box. I'm a little upset though that the sub won't fit. But any ideas please let me know. Thanks in advance.

Sorry so long. Thought this would be a good share. Email received from XS Power: Thanks for contacting us regarding the proper way to charge sealed lead acid (AGM) type batteries like the ones we produce. Unlike conventional lead acid batteries, AGM batteries are completely sealed, meaning that all of the gas and electrolyte is safely stored inside the battery. In order to keep AGM batteries in good health, and to maximize their performance and life expectancy, it is important to properly charge and maintain them. Leaving a battery (conventional or sealed) in a low state of charge over a long period of time is bad for the battery because it allo…
