Well I started my first car audio install, after not knowing anything half a year ago, thx to forums and helpfull ppl I learned and decided to do everything myself, and I was very carefull unhooked battery, made sure ground points are good, took my time untill I did a big mistake..... ......I installed Sundown 100.4 and Sundown 125.2 and Pioneer PRS880, hooked everything up and wanted to set the gains the dmm way. I hooked the positive back to the battery and I saw sparks flying on battery port, looked kinda strange, but I connected it anyway and I heard a lound bang in the back of a car,oh oh. Amps were in protect mode and I could not find the problem, I thought to try …

i don't know if this gets posted hear but hear it goes i have an L7S15 hooked up to Pyle / pla4478 that is hooked to a atoto/ SA102 deck the speakers are hooked from the doors to the deck not to the amp the problem that i am having is when i am playing music loud the doors speakers cut out but the bass dose not you can still hear the bass so i have to close the music app an reopen it do get audio to come back through the doors when its playing its playing it sounds good an plays great but all the sudden audio stops and bass keeps playing any help would be great i don't know if this helps but it happens through apple car play

Ok heres the deal Im trying to figure out the best way to do this so everything is compatible. First, I will be installing 2 shallow mount earthquake sws 8" subs under the front seats in a bmw 5 series which will be replacing the factory subs and one dcon 10" in the trunk. The earthquake subs will be run as a sort of midrange/sub and can only handle about 150rms. The dcon is good for 300rms. My questions are: What impedences should I get for the subs? Dcon 10 and earthquake? What amp would be best? 3 or 4 channel? 4 channel run in 3 channel mode? Any recommendations on amp? Maybe a link or advise on how to wire it up? '

I've been looking at this old armored truck from the Andy Griffith days for a few minutes. I was just wondering what I could do with it.What class, if any, could there be to run it in? I'm trying to figure out how to put the pictures in here. It's giving me a hard time. I have them in my gallery but, i'm tryin to get them out here. Any help on that would be nice too. when designing a setup, when is it required to have more than 1 battery in the vehicle? If you have an alt capable of supplying the entire demand of current, let's say for a sundown 3000d, would you not need any extra batteries? Extra batteries are more like a voltage stabilizer while the vehicle is running, correct?

Hey guys i just got a new Lexus is250 and planning on starting my system with adding a sub. i will be making a custom box for what ever i decide on. would like opinions on some decisions. i am attempting to stay with the SQ range i like a little volume but im sure any upgrade will give me the sound i am looking for in that respect. Sub choices so far: fi q10 aa Chaos 10 2x kicker l7 8 amp choices: kicker IX1000.1 Possiably a mcintosh mcc302 (dont know if the money would be worth it) or if there is a better priced alternative relaly need help here ok now heres the limits guys im not rich but i will spend anything for a good setup.. i will be devoting more to the front st…

OK, my 18 Btl is on its way for my grand am. the alternator is a 105 amp alternator. so im not sure WHAT im going to need, just that most likely i will to power it suffeciently. I got the BTL fully loaded with everything, and this is my daily driver car. Current Funds-900-1000$ Purchased: Fi BtL 18 here are the Amps i am looking at. Hifonics BXI2008-275$ shipped or a KICKER ZX2500.1-750$ shipped Or what do you reccomend what kind of Cap should i get? or not get one? New alternator? If so what kind? and What kind of wire, i was told Monster 1/0 Gauge is that correct? thing is not sure if i can run the kicker and have enough power STOCK to handle it, and have enough money…

Hey all... After a few months of running my ID comps off of a bridged 4CH amp (150wRMS) dialed down to about 100wRMS, I got a wild hair up my ass and decided to run them off of one channel each. The output was about the same but the clarity is so much better! My Q's are still drowning out the highs though so I'm looking into multiple speakers... I have my 6.5"s in custom door pods, and the tweets in the sail panels. I was going to put two Kenwood 5.25"s that I have in the rear sails (run off HU), maybe purchase a set of 4" speakers for the upper front doors(run off HU), which would leave me with an extra two channels on the Infinity to slap onto another set of co-ax speak…

Okay so here are my plans new enclosure for my rebuild. Below is a picture of the single icon 12 I currently have and it's enclosure which is 14x14x34... 2.4 cubic feet. , tunned at 29.5.. I plan on adding a second 12. And building a Aero ported enclosure ..and the box specs also shown in the link below.. Hey guys i currently have a Memphis m3 15 and a pr500 amp in a 4.3cuft box ported @ 34hz. Im either going to pick up a sundown sae-1200d or a saz-1500d amp next and im wonering what sub would be a good match in the 12-1500w range. Im mainly looking for eye blurring ear hurting bass and the m3 just aint cutting it. also im looking to spend around 350 for the sub.

Hey, Im fairly new to all this Car Audio stuff, and have no idea what is 'good'. There is so much choice nowadays with all the brands (Alpine, Memphis, FUSION, etc, etc) and would like help on choosing my first set up. I got a couple hundred bucks to burn and want to see what I can do with my leased 2003 Jetta. I will want to keep the stock headunit in (will it still be possible for the system to be good?). Speakers, amp, and sub is basically what I will be limited to. Can I make something happen on a $300 budget? Are bazookas/powered subs total crap? I don't want cheap sounding, ground shaking bass. Hey guys, long time since i've actually posted on here. I've recieved my 2 12' FI Q's a few months ago, and i have to say, great subs. Beastly handling, but what i'm about to show you is kind of pathetic. This song is really old but it still pounds harder than most songs this day!! I discovered it around 08' and alot of people still dont know about it so Im going 2 bring it to life! Its called "Drug Money" by Lil burn. You can find it on youtube.com (Theirs also a screwed version 2) But I mainly recommend people to play this with good subs and mainly subs thats tuned low like 30hz or below (Unless your subs still hit lows good) this song basically plays ground shakin lows!! Buy a sony 12" component sub XSL124P5B and a sony stereo Model #: SON CDXGT320 for around 250$. And then buy four 6x9 pioneer speakers for i dont know how much. Would this system even work ? What would i need? I drive a 2000 f-150 lariot extended cab supercrew. And i am gonna buy at circuit city and i think they have free install near me would this be a total bad idea. i was thinking about music i would play, i mostly play hip-hop and rock so maybe slq? OK, I know I'm impatient, and I'm not saying SSA is taking too long, I'd rather wait for something that is going to be this awesome versus them rushing and giving me something that might fall apart. But, I was just curious the average time people waited to get their sub. 21+ days could mean 2 months for all I know. I'm trying to keep myself busy right now getting wires pulled and the box built, and hopefully time will pass faster. I'm just hoping the 14 days i've waited so far means I'm half way done:)
