As I posted on another section I got a new (to me) Daily Driver... Its a 2005 Chevy Trail Blazer... Cliff Notes: Before I haul off and put a few K into an audio system, I kinda want to get a really good Alarm... What Systems are the Best and Why??? What Systems are are POS and Why??? I'm trying to do alot of reading and researching on this to make sure I make a good descision.. My concerns are the Alarm being a POS and the install being a POS... The reason, my last two Alarms were DEI - Viper systems and I had several issues with them... Long Story if you wanna Read the whole Novel: The 1st (a low end unit, probably a dealer add on) came on my 1996 GMC Sonoma, Ex Cab, …

Hi im looking for input on what I should put in my car for a system. I have a 2009 ford focus ses 4dr with sync so I will be using an req signal restorer. Right now i have a pair of focal access 570ca1's which will be going in the back doors then most likely a set of components for the fronts. I want a system that can really hit the lows. I have been looking at several subs like rockford 12t2d2 or a jl 13 w7 but cant decide between either or if I should just go with something like a 12 fi bl. I am looking at all these subs because they all have an rms of around 1000 watts and I dont think my car will be able to keep up with much more than a 2 channel and a 1000 watt …

i feel like i should say something nice about this company. i blew 1 of there 55001d amps and they took it back no problems sent me a brand new one (just had to pay shipping both ways). so 2 days ago i ended up blowing one of there 1600/4 amps. just called tech support to make sure what the alternating power/protect light ment. (it means its "toast"). the tech support was amazingly friendly and directed me to RA where they gave me a RA # no problem or saying that it was installer error. (which it was not). if it was not for their korean made cheapness i would HIGHLY recommend them. needless to say i'm still going to end up getting all sundown amps.

Hey guys, been trying for the last week to get rid of my current equipment to make room for new stuff. I put some ads up, and not one person has been interested, not even any lowballers. lol When I had two Hifonics amplifiers of comparable power for sale last spring I got literally flooded with demand, and I asked just about the same amount of money. Although they were unused. Here's what's for sale. Keep in mind I live in Canada. Not easy to get Fi up here, and Soundstream is not seen often. $300 - 12" Fi BL - Dual 2, Cooling, Flatwind, Daily $300 - Soundstream Tarantula TRX1500D $200 - Soundstream Tarantula TRX2.550 Was thinking about knocking $50 off everything. Let …

Hello everyone, I was quite out of the scenario for family reasons, but always checking what's new in SSA. Recently I change my ride for an 06 Navigator ultimate, I keep most of the equipments of the town car like the audiocontrol LC7, the lanzar OPTIX10 crossover, the memphis ST1000D mono amp and the 2 subs Ascendant Audio Chaos 10". I'm interest in create an sq system with what I got now and add a few more things like component speakers, damping material, etc. also i was thinking in build a custom center console in the second row, that house the subs, cause i need all the cargo space for my job. Where i'm totally lost is in the eficiency of the subs in a small sealed bo…

http://www.mtx.com/caraudio/products/subwoofers/jackHammer24sq.cfm Maybe this one will be used more appropriately. In the pimp my ride where they installed the original jackhammer, a 22" woofer on 8500w only hit 130dB.

so ive been to nearly every shop in orange county, and a few outside of it still in so cal and they are all a joke. they dont know anything, and push products that are absolute crap, like nitro. they have never heard of any brands such as SSA, FI, IA, TC, DC, AA, and only a few know RE. we on here know what is good and what is crap. and the worst part is that when you try to tell them about these brands they tell you that they are internet junk and have no warranties and downplay you all together. EVEN when you play your system for them thye still say its just ok but kicker CVR's or L7's are better. SO kicker CVR's and L7's are better than anything FI, SSA, DC, IA, etc? h…

I recently had my blazer broken into, had my FI Q's stolen along with the rest of my setup. Found some RE SR's on craigslist for a good price, so I picked 'em up, and got an autotek ss1000.1d to push them. My '06 civic has a really strange dash, and I was wondering what kind of power and sound quality losses I would suffer if I kept it stock instead of installing my Alpine CDA-9883. Also, I was wondering if anyone had any help as to what LOC would give me the least unwanted noise, and how much it would cost to have one professionally installed by a local car audio shop directly to my rear speakers.

I was at a car audio shop a while back and they had this stuff they called, "Dum-Dum" I think. It came on a roll like tape, but was thick and kind of like putty but sticky as well. Anyone heard of this? \Where can I get some?

Just finished an install today on a friends car (1994 Toyota Corolla) It consists of the following: Alpine CDA 9884 2 10" Fi SSD (brand new, no options) in a 1.35 cubic foot sealed enclosure BIG 3 (4 AWG) Stock batt up front, Motomaster Elimintaor in the rear 4 AWG wiring throughout Memphis 16-MC1500D @ 2 ohms For some reason, after no more than 10 minutes of test tones (from 25hz to 40hz) at around 75% volume the amp goes in and out of protect mode. All we were trying to do was loosen the woofers up a bit. Car was started, and gains weren't even at full potential. Fuse holder w/ voltage display states that the voltage was around the 11.8V range before it went into prote…

I need some pointers on how to begin my build. I have a 86 full size short bed chevy truck and there is no way I can get the kind of sound Im looking for with such little space behind the seat. I want to put the subs in the bed with a blow thru into the cab. Im not looking to compete in SPL or anything like that just want the kind of bass Im use to hearing (just sold my magnum and miss it already). Im running an Alpine CDA 9886 head unit and Kicker 3.5, 6.5 in the cab will be adding components soon. The problem Im having is Ive never tried this before and dont know what type of enclosure to use or what subs for that matter. Ive always stuck to mainstream subs like JL, Kic…

Im looking for a clamp style meter and ebay looks like the cheapest route. Im looking at a couple and would like some opinions on which would work best. Im looking for a true rms digital clamp meter. Immediately I plan on using it on my stereo's, mainly for AC voltage and current, but later for home repair with DC voltage and current. Its not a temporary buy as I want this to last awhile. I was also looking for the one that Jacob used in his testing but couldnt find it. He even posted a link where to buy the exact one. Of course Id like a fluke or a fieldpiece but they are too expensive and Im recently unemployed. Heres the ones im looking at now. The one thats catching m…
