Hey guys. I have a fair amount of experience with installs in my car, but it was only me driving it. I am getting ready to put a system in my Explorer, but space is more of an issue than it has been before. Questions I have: 1. Without sacrificing any storage space, where is a good place for the amp(s) and a subwoofer? What is the best way to approach this? 2. How do I find out what size speakers I can put in the doors? The depth of the speakers as well.

i ordered two zcon 18s and a saz 5000 yesterday im gonna get carboard today and see how much air space I have under the window line and hopefully not have to go much higher and could anyone help with a box design?

ive been after a clarion dz9255 for ages, they arnt available in europe so was thinking about importing one, clarion just done a press release in the uk for the new head units, which doesnt include the dz9255, so i winged a little and as luck would have it i won one i actualy won a clarion hx d2 but same model just malaysia spec so i can use the radio in the UK and slightly updated compared tot he 9255 what a good start to my holidays

Can anyone tell me how I can hook stuff up so I can play music through my laptop? My laptop has 1000's of songs from CD's and what not. Any receiver on the market can't top my laptop. Any way you could help me figure this out please do. Thanks, Jonathan

I am making a list of everything I need for my system and I need help. I plan on getting a Fi BL 18 loaded with a Sundown 1500 watt amp with a 10 cubic foot box tuned at 30hz. I want to use one of Sundown multi channel amps for the mids and highs probably the 100.4. I am gonna get a new starter battery and a battery for the trunk, isolate the battery in the trunk and get a larger alternator. Run all power and grounds 0 gauge. These are the things I am not sure of yet, what head unit to get, what mids and highs to get, what crossover to get, what brand of batteries to get, what size of alternator, and what type of equalizer. Hey guys, Im new to SSA and car audio in general. I have been doing a little bit of research but would like to have other opinions. My question is in your opinion what is the best deck, speaker, and amp set up for around 500. Sorry if i am a noob but i had to ask. I am getting really tired of the speakers i have now in my Jeep Liberty, they absolutely suck and i have to iPod hook-up so it is time to get some new equipment. I have an Xpress Capacitor(new) I'm trying to install and it's not quite working. I charged it correctly but when I measure it with a voltmeter, it only measures 3.5V I tried to install it anyways, hoping that it will charge the rest by itself. So I hooked it up right next to the amp. The digital readout doesn't display. I followed the instructions and it doesn't work. I asked a friend and he said I should try hooking up a remote wire to the cap. Any ideas?

My wiring kit manuel says make sure fuse is not in before connection to battery So i hooked the battery up and put the fuse on and the fucker sparked and almost shocked the crap outa me Now i assume im supposed to unhook the - terminal first then install it?

I need a box design for under the rear seat of my truck but the thing is I don't know if I want to go with four ported 8's with about 600 watts a piece or two 10's ported with about 1000 watts a piece...which setup will be louder? And who is a good enclosure designer?

Well I've been away from car audio atleast 2 to 3 years. Not sure what is new if anything. I've got a system right now. A single 10 inch re sx mated to a usamps md1d set to 1ohm so about 1000 watts. I'm actually looking to get rid of it and go more towards sq but know nothing towards that. What's a sq sub? Does it matter on amps? Box wise I know sealed box is best. I've seen these soundqubed and skar are they any good? Don't really have an idea on budget but as always cheaper is better and I'm looking to sell my system probably.

based on a few stupid questions i asked, and countless hours of reading other people's stupid questions and the patient and knowledgable responses from regulars here i have been able to piece up a good budget system that i feel really represented exacly my goal when deciding what equipment to buy. just wanted to say thanks for all the free advice and patience. (i never would have ended up with a sundown saz-1500 if it weren't for ssa)

Alright so i was down at the mall and took a look at the brand new 2012 Scion tc. I must say it looks beautiful, not too sure on how it performs or any issues that they have but it looked CLEAN. Im only 19 so its not like ill be able to afford one anytime soon, but it looks like such a nice car to wall . Kind of looks like a Honda CRX, but bigger and more luxury oriented. Guess i just had a bit of a daydream moment but maybe this will my my future car. Not sure yet, (Coming from a GM family, it seems odd to be this into an import.) Oh, and the doors already have 3 ways mounted in them.

Hey guys the SAX1200 has 4awg terminals and I was hoping to run 1/0 for the power & ground. What is the best/most direct way to get the 1/0 to fit in the terminals? Thanks.

According to my dodgy calculater the below specs will give 31.44 Hz before a single 45 corner and a 1" front baffle. obviously the one side will have to be lengthened by .25'' ...i think box with 36" box height 14" depth 22.5" wood thickness .75" for most part of it(exept for front baffle -->other ideas welcome) sq port height 12.5" sq port with 4.5" sq port L1 17.25" sq port L2 5" cheers

So yesterday after having my amp turned up and it sounding much louder and has some nice flex to it now (new vids).. I am going to take it to the next SPL competition and see what i place i get..it wont hurt to try and for my first time whatever place ill get ill be happy with.

when playing on music it makesa popping noise on different tones it does it alot i have a o6 s15l7 4ohm wired at two it makes no sence and it pretty loud not hard to miss it

what amp should i use to run 6 tweeters by clarion, i have a 2 channel amp to run to of them but iwant to get louder, and i have the battery power to run the beasts, so suggestions anyone.

Will box a give me same results like box B ? Does it matter if sub is placed up, or on the side ?

I can get a Tsunami 1/0 Fuse holder (new) with a 250 amp fuse for $20 Shipped. So I have three questions. 1. Is this a good deal? If so, then I need help answering a couple questions. 2. I currently have a 90 amp fuse and have a Cadence ZRS-8 doing around 1800 rms probably. I am pretty sure the 90 amp fuse is bottle necking the power (if I have my volume all the way up), will this fix the bottle necking problem by going to a 250 amp fuse? 3. Is 1/0 good enough for 2k rms?

Im looking to do a whole electrical upgrade to prep for a fi sp415 strapped to a 3000 watt amp (Thinking maybe crescendo or hifonics). My question is what size alternator do you think would efficient. Im struggling finding any good info on high output alternators.
