Well, Tang Band has a new fan. Today I installed a Pioneer 7700 cd player, a planet audio vx2002 on a set of fusion powerplant 6.5 comp set, and a jbl bp600 on 2 tang band 740 8" subs in a 1.3 ft3 box tuned at 33. I'm pretty damn impressed for two 8"s that I got new for $80 a pair. Heavy little subs, built well, 12mm x-max. I have 2 more on the way But as it sits it makes for a VERY clean sounding system, I wasn't expecting the amount of low end output, It's not 150 dbs but defintily enough for a nice daily beater, didn't expect the low end authority. So all in all I'm happy. So anybody looking for a nice smaller substage 4 of the TB 8's on 600-800 rms would defin…

i know i kinda talked about this before, but i wanted to update what i was doin. i have 2 psi 18s in seperate enclosures. Before i had only .50ft of port area in each box according to Torres. now i have about .98 which is double the port area than before. it apperently brought my tuning from about 31hz to 36 or so hz according to Torres. will this still be ok for daily? Was this a good idea or do you thing i will regret doing this? not quite finnished with this change..your thoughts.....

So I will be pairing the 4 ohm Crescendo STS-1 Silk dome tweeters with 4ohm Crescendo PWX 6.5's . The tweeters came with crossovers just for the tweeters. Amp is a nvx jad800.4 which does 125 x 4 @ 4 ohms. if I have the pwx's hooked up to channels 1 & 2, can I connect the tweeters on channel 3 & 4 and essentially barely increase the input sensitivity on those channels? Doesn't seem accurate whatsoever to me and I am thinking I could seriously fry my tweeters from the get go. Would that still be considered going passive with tweeter crossovers or am I diving into active territory? Am I better off getting a different passive crossover that I can connect both pwx &a…

My e12 came in the mail today (sweet sub btw!) so I put it in my custom sub box in the car to see how it looks (2.00cuft tuned 32hz) and the sub hole is sliiiightly too small (won't fit completely flush). Any ideas on how to make this work? I suppose sanding down the hole till the sub can fit flush. What would be the easiest and safest way to get the sub to fit? I know for sure that I want to use this box, so another box isn't an option. (paid $120 for box) they even said oversized subs may require slight mod to box. I'm a little upset though that the sub won't fit. But any ideas please let me know. Thanks in advance.

Sorry so long. Thought this would be a good share. Email received from XS Power: Thanks for contacting us regarding the proper way to charge sealed lead acid (AGM) type batteries like the ones we produce. Unlike conventional lead acid batteries, AGM batteries are completely sealed, meaning that all of the gas and electrolyte is safely stored inside the battery. In order to keep AGM batteries in good health, and to maximize their performance and life expectancy, it is important to properly charge and maintain them. Leaving a battery (conventional or sealed) in a low state of charge over a long period of time is bad for the battery because it allo…

well the show today was pretty good. Had quite a bit of SPL cars there. They had SQ cars for all classes, but only one per class so they all took 1st place. They only had one Extreme SPL car that i do have pics of and it hit i believe a 171 db. Its the Treo Car. I was running my Icon 15 in the new 4 cu ft box tuned to 40 hz with my SoundStream PCA 2000d on it wired at 1 ohm. I was actually surprised i placed 3rd in my class out of 10 competetors. the finals pics are of me, the trophy, and the paper with the ratings on it. My highest was a 143.9 db, but then again the Icon is LSQ and the testings on a good SPL box are still up in the air. Hope you guys enjoy. 1…

I'm starting a new bagger build that will have four 6x9's four tweeters and an amp in the fairing. I was wondering if anyone had any luck with soundigital ? The reason I wanted to try this amp was due to its small size since its going in the fairing . I know not everyone is familiar with motorcycles etc but i'm limited in my options regarding number of speakers and size of amp so if anyone has any good sounding combos etc let me know . Right now im leaning towards focal or JL speakers and a alpine amp . Thanks

Hey, i stay true to my name <<<. lol, but why does a sub seem louder with a window(s) down, than when they're up? I don't know if it is on a meter, or just to the ear, but shouldn't it be that if the waves are focused into a smaller space, it'd be louder? with a window down the air goes everywhere.. just don't understand. Also, if it really is louder on a meter to have windows down, then why do the true bassheads, modified vehicles spend thousands on concreting a vehicle and making sure every crevice is sealed, when i roll down a window and it's louder. Is it just the class they're in, and the rule is windows up? Or does it actually make it louder? Just kinda wo…

I have the 2200 A.Q. amp. The grounded wire got hot enough to melt, so when being replaced the power wire was still connected. When connecting the ground back to the amp it caused a popping sound and white smoke to come from the amp. Is it ok to try and reconnect it still or would it have caused damage to the amp.

Blew the power supply in my amp. Had it fixed and just installed the amp back in. On zero volume there is a loud alien like sound as soon as i turn on the headunit. Could this be a bad ground? My right mid fell from its baffle and the frame was resting on the metal door. Did this ground blow something else? Thanks for any input. Steve

Sony MDR-V700 Pro DJ Remix Use Phenomenal sound clarity for the price, amazing bass response. Sound amazing, and block everything in the outside world out. Great cans for the price ($100) I am about to get an iPod and I will be in the market for some earbuds. Anybody have any suggestions for that?
