I have a friend with the truck above, he wants to keep the factory h/u and look. My 1st thought was a Rockford Fosgate 3Sixty.1 to handle that duty, buts it kind of an expensive route to take unless I pick it up off ebay or a similar place. Sub wise we're going with the Soundsplinter RL-i 8 either dual 4 or single 4, dependent on amp choice he makes. Planning on ported, but what size box/port area/vent size do you recommend?? Amplifier choices so far are as follows, JBL GTO 601.1, Alpine MRP-M500, Alpine PDX-1.600, Kicker ZX500.1, Rockford Fosgate R500-1, and any others you can recommend, any suggestions on anything I've stated so far would greatly be appreciated. Subwoof…

Hey, I'm looking for a bit of advice. I bought some 6.5" Focal component speakers for my 99 Civic LX which has 6.5" stock speakers. The problem is that the Focals appear to be a hair larger than they specified... The diameter of the speaker is a good 1-2mm wider than claimed, which means I'm forced to do some modification. I would probably just huck them on eBay, except a) I really like their sound, and b) I already drilled / installed the tweeters on my door panel. So I'm left with a tricky situation. I'm debating whether or not I should be cutting the metal ring around the speaker, or the plastic on my door. They both have pros and cons and while I'm slightly handy, I'm…

I'm going to be in the market for a new sub soon, I have a 18" bl rite now, but it is time for a change. I have a sundown saz 1500d, and pioneer avhp5000dvd. Im about to buy some kinetic 1800s and anew front stage. It is all in a 2000 GMC Jimmy..... But ihave narrowed it down to 4 subs. NS 18, rl-P 18, XCON 18, or a BTL 18 . I want a decent ground pounder. Since I only have about 1500 watts that sorta cancels out the BTL.I wasn't really wanting another Fi that much anyway because since I got mine it seems like everyone around here has one and I like to be DIFFERENT...... It will be in 7-10 cubes @ 28-32hz …

If there was one thing the internet could offer you car audio enthusiasts that it doesn't already , or think something could be greatly improved, what would that be? I'm talking store selections, information guides, specs for cars, anything. Kevin

Hi there, curious about connecting a mono amp / 2x10" subwoofer setup. My subwoofer setup is pretty cheap, I know, but I just wanna make sure I do it right. The subs are Pioneer TS-W251R 10" 4 Ohm: Output Power (4 Ohm, <=1% THD) 60 Watts x 2 Output Power (4 Ohm Bridged, <=1% THD) 150 Watts x 1 Output Power (2 Ohm, <=1% THD) 75 Watts x 2 The amp is Infinity Reference 1300a: 200 watts RMS x 1 at 4 ohms (300 watts RMS at 2 ohms) So obviously, I have two pairs of subwoofer terminals in the back of my enclosure, and I have two pairs of terminals on the amp itself. Should I just plug subwoofer 1 into speaker terminal 1 on the amp, and subwoofer 2 into terminal 2 on the…

Hey all... After a few months of running my ID comps off of a bridged 4CH amp (150wRMS) dialed down to about 100wRMS, I got a wild hair up my ass and decided to run them off of one channel each. The output was about the same but the clarity is so much better! My Q's are still drowning out the highs though so I'm looking into multiple speakers... I have my 6.5"s in custom door pods, and the tweets in the sail panels. I was going to put two Kenwood 5.25"s that I have in the rear sails (run off HU), maybe purchase a set of 4" speakers for the upper front doors(run off HU), which would leave me with an extra two channels on the Infinity to slap onto another set of co-ax speak…

http://img5.imageshack.us/img5/4880/img00080v.jpg 2nd day after i finished installing. note: my music was off at the time, and we both were at fault. I made an illegal left turn and he made an illegal uturn, causing the crash. No tickets were issued. But hey, there's a $500 deductible.

I was going to listen to my system the other day, and i turned it on when it was just about to hit it kinda shut off and started making a weird noise. Kinda high pitched noise. I took the sub out and brought to another car an ran it free air so that wasn't it. Same with the amp. I replaced the auxiliary wires and it started to work on a low level. so i turned it up just a little bit. Like up 2. Hooked it back up.(keep in mind this is back in my car running free air to see if its going to work before i put it all back together) and then it sparked and stopped working again. I have a 18" fi Bl, It was hooked up to my buddies sundown saz-1500d, and my Pioneer avh5000dvd head…

ok, so my system is actually starting to come together. i still do not know as much as i should to own a btl.. but i bought it thinking i did to relize when i got on here how deep i got my self into when i purchased it. i never really relized how amazing this woofer really is until everyone on this amazing forum have taught me. now i know most subs are held down with regular screws but how should i mount my sub. my friend has an 18 inch q and keeps breaking screws, whats a good way to secure my sub down without breaking screws left and right. and my last question is would my electrical hold up with one Deka Intimidator Battery 9A31 and the big 3 for a rf t30001bd ?? any …

So i know its nothing compared to most of you, but it's not the average system at my highschool. I did almost all of it but build the box myself This is what I got, i will post pictures tomorrow. Alpine Digital Media Receiver 1x Ascendant Audio 18" Chaos 1x JL Audio Slash 1000/1v2 1 4 Gauge Run Stinger Next comes the component speakers and such, but it sure does slam in my durango. The headunit i just put in today, and it really makes a difference with my door speakers, as well as the control i have over the sub now. Can't believe i ever chose to keep the stock head unit in. kevin

So I have had my SSD hooked up on my zx750 now for about 3 months and I love it to death it sounds amazing and all the kids up at the high school chit bricks when they hear it. I'm guessing I'm hitting in the low 30's on TL. AND I FINALLY FIXED THE RATTLING!!! But I want a bit more, it would cost around $1000 dollars if I sell my SSD& for $500. I'm thinking cut out the upper trunk railings so I can fit a 5cuft box in my trunk instead of a 3.5cuft box (1) Fi BTL 15 fully loaded (1) 2k-2500rms amp (possibly sundown2000 when it comes out) 1 run of 0 gauge, 8 gauge speaker wire And obviously some batteries, not too sure on which ones and how many I'm going to need(sugg…

More and more lately I see more and more ROE members, most that are 15-21 that have probably never owned used or seen halfway decent equipment giving advice on which sub is better or amp, box etc. And the people asking these questions are honestly looking for an honest answer from someone knowledgeable that has either use seen or has worked with "x" product. I just see WAY too much this sub sucks or this is better when they've probable never heard seen or used any.. sorry to rant just my 2 cents... Joe...
