  5. I made this series of test tones and sine sweeps to help a member set up his system. I figured since I went to the trouble of packaging these and uploading them, I would share these with everyone. These will work great for setting up your system, adjusting crossover points, setting EQs, and determining how flat the system really is (using the final series of sweeps)... oh yeah, and just for showing off, if you so choose . All are unclipped 0db signals. I have enclosed the track list in a wordpad file, and I will include it here for you to determine if this set is for you. I have also added a set of pink noise tracks, as requested by another member. It will be the second d…

At all about sealed vs ported, RMS, transient response, SQ of a sub, box types, etc... This primer should be read... # 1 Subwoofers have an RMS rating Speakers actually have a very complex thermal compression relationship and certainly can not be quantified by just one or two numbers typically called RMS and Program or Peak. Because voice coils in traditional drivers are inherently resistors, any amount of voltage generates some amount of heat which then adversely changes the resistance and properties of the speaker. This is the principle of thermal compression: As the voice coil heats up, the resistance changes and the efficiency and performance of the driver decrease …

Hello all I have a 2015 Silverado crew cab and I finally have the funding to play a little my goal is to have a 5k amp and 2 15s subs in ported box, the whole back cab will be sacrificed. I need to know if a 250a alt and a good batt would be sufficient for what I’m looking for or maybe that and an extra batt? Also I keep reading about this donut deal on my negative battery cable that regulates alt voltage, and that it’s a pain to get around? I haven’t dug too deep into it, but i wanted to start with at least a big 3. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks

I've had my subwoofer installed for just over 2 years now with no issues. Now when I start my car (No music playing) The power light on my bass knob flashes and I can hear my subwoofer slightly thumping. I've checked the ground and the power cables but can't figure out what causing it. The clipping light doesn't flash red, just the power light. I attached a video of this. You cant hear the thumping because its very low. The amp I'm using is a Sundown SAZ 1500D and I'm using the bass knob that came with that amp. This issue will happen almost every time I start my car but last week it stopped for about 4 days and now its back and even worse than it was before. Ba…

Hi all, it’s been a while and I want to try SSA again. Had an XCON 15 for 3 years then sold it. At the moment I currently own two Stereo Integrity "SQL" 15, single 15 Adire Brahma, and two 10s RF power T1. I saw the Zcon 12 on SSA website and wanted to see them in action but couldn’t find any vids on YouTube for that model. Anyone in here own that newer model and what are your thoughts on the SQ. I’m mainly looking for a clean SQ driver that can get brutal when want to and doesn’t sound distorted/mechanical noise.

Just donated my 2 ssa icon 12's to my nephew for his first ever system. Building a new system for my f150 crew cab, debating one evil 15 or 4 ssa f8l's. Space doesn't matter and I have a few amps to choose from in my collection. Just curious if anyone is running either of these setups and can add any input. Thanks in advance

Sorry so long. Thought this would be a good share. Email received from XS Power: Thanks for contacting us regarding the proper way to charge sealed lead acid (AGM) type batteries like the ones we produce. Unlike conventional lead acid batteries, AGM batteries are completely sealed, meaning that all of the gas and electrolyte is safely stored inside the battery. In order to keep AGM batteries in good health, and to maximize their performance and life expectancy, it is important to properly charge and maintain them. Leaving a battery (conventional or sealed) in a low state of charge over a long period of time is bad for the battery because it allo…

  21. Hello guys I have a 1995 Mercedes E320 Sedan, and have been figuring out what I should upgrade my amazing skar evl-12 in a 34hz ported box with and I think the best bang for buck option that will make a noticeable difference is the sundown sa classic series from yardsale. I will be powering it with the same amp that I use on my skar(a sundown sfb-1500d), I know they can handle more the 1700w rms but my electrical system will be overdriven if I keep upgrading amps, I think I will put 2 sa classic-12s in a 4.5 cubic ft box tuned to 35hz slightly bigger than the manufacture recommends. I might potentially upgrade to the sia 1750d with 1/0 guage ofc wire in the future. I don…

I was thinking about something the other day.... would love to hear some feedback A comparison of abuse each individual component takes in your typical car audio system, (10,000 watts of power for example) SUBWOOFERS- Typically, a pair of 2500–3000-watt subs on a 10k or 10k worth of power, so real close to double its rated capacity (People blow subs daily, and recon all the time, and never say a word about the product, or quality of product. They just accept its part of the game and move on) $500 sub, $150 recon kit, EVERY time it blows. That gets expensive really quick, but still, nobody cares, they actually seem happy and proud they launc…

QUESTION: When an "Alternator Manufacturer" gives you an "Output at Idle" number - What do you want to hear? Most people just want to hear a high number and they're happy from that point on out.... Until they have 12.4 volts at a stoplight and 14.8 when they drive... Do you think they have been “deceived” lied to? The industry standard for an "Idle output" test is 2400 ROTOR rpm. That's approximately 800 engine rpm if you have a 3:1 pulley ratio. It’s been that way for years...& as far as today that number should really be 2000 Rotor RPM instead of 2400 because crank pulleys have got way smaller on most vehicles which makes the "Outpu…

I’m curious if anyone can fill me in on what’s going on with AL? I know SSA and DroppinHZ used to sell them but now I can’t find any online dealers. I’ve been told they are ghosting their dealers right now and it appears they are liquidating some products on their site. When they first came out everyone said they had great CS and then I started hearing of warranty horror stories. Wonder if shady practices did them in?

I've been looking at some enclosures on ebay, most of time you find yourself looking at shit. I then look at some enclosures from sonix not sure maybe mistaken. They have some decent looking builds, I was wonder if anyone has ever purchased one?. They have a box intended for a lot of the RE's but I was thinking of placing my SSD in one of them, for the time being. Any Ideas... I wouldn't mind going with Fisher Customs, since they're based out of Louisiana... but these enclosures have a pretty nice price not that I remember how much Fisher charges but yeah... any info.. and ideas would help. I am not making my own enclosure.. just to have that in the clear.
