ZED Audio

So I hear that ZED is coming out with new amps? I am planning to get the Leviathan BUT if there is maybe some new product coming out, specifically in the 5-6 channel amp department then maybe I should wait and see. Can anyone give me any clues as to if what I heard was correct and about the possibility of new 5-6 channel ZED amp? TIA

I have to say I was disappointed in the new tinted Zed cover. I purchased the amp largely as a show piece and most of the advertizing prictures of the V3 had a clear cover. Honestly, if I knew it had a tinted cover I probably would have found another used v2. This is an SPL build so SQ isn't that important to me. I enjoyed my v2, because the LEDs shown through the 6x9 speaker slots in the rear deck. I pulled the stock speakers a few installs ago, and there was nothing to stop the light. I loved it... I spoke with Steve about what kind of amps he will be making in the future. I am frankly amazed that the #1 complaint from customers about the Old Zeds was price. I mean come on ! I have 2 Gladius, a Deuce, and a Minilith running a 4 way Dynaudio setup fed from the alpine F1 head and processor. It sounds absolutely incredible. My $1200 worth of amps clearly blow away amps from other manufacturers whose product costs 2-5 times a much. I will not mention names but I compared other amps with his with the same head and speakers and the Zeds outperformed or hung with all the high dollar brands. I sent one of his Gladius amps into Car Audio Magazine to be reviewed and the teste…

I talked to Stephen today for a good hour. He was bouncing ideas off me and me back at him. We discussed the new heatsink as well. If he decides to use the idea he told me about, you can call the pharmacist and cancel all your prescriptions for Viaga, Cialis and the like. I promise these amps are going to be so damn sexy you wont need the scripts anymore, heck you might even be able to kick the wife or girlfriend out cause she wont be needed anymore! Just got back from vacation in Mexico and had chance to catch up on my reading, including the new issue of PAS. Having already bought a couple of these amps, based on the first killer review, all I can say now is, Wow, just wow! I am way happy with my Leviathans, esp for the money, and am glad that the guy from PAS was totally impressed too, but not surprised in the least... Well, there hasn't been very many threads on the Zed, so I just wanted to put one out. Seriously though, has anyone heard of any updates on any new lines. I know Steve was planning on something in the near future, and wanted to know if anyone has heard anything.

just wandering if it was built buy zed, maybe some of you guys that were into car audio then can help. one seen one since then,looks like a zed made amp. long like a crunch 50 us acoustics 2300 or a 7600 autotek or the almighty zeus! plane with no crossovers just lots of clean power. amp was black with a orange stripe down the center of the amp with yellow writing and thats about it. haveing trouble finding anything on the company or the amp for that matter. im looking for one as i type....

Ok so i figured this would probably be the most reasonable place to put this question. I have an Autotek 7100bts. Does anyone actually use these things with subwoofers or do people only use them for hi's? I was considering using it for a sub amp but everywhere i read people put them on 6x9s or on component sets. any info would be appreciated. Oh i know this is dumb question but what about putting to Icon D1s on it and running it at 4 ohms? wonder what would happen?

I am running a PG RSDc 12 off my JBL BPX500.1 and I am just wondering if the minilith would be a step down. powerwise I am sure it would but I wonder if the mini sounds better or has more control of sub. my sub can take lots of power but doesnt need it. its got a efficiency rating of 94

is the opti series by lanzar made by zed?looking at the 6k opti and just wanted some reassurance.thanks

Just wondering if anyone owns an Original Crunch amps. Models were CR600, CR450, CR150, CR425, CR100, CR50 CR50SHC and CR250. I still have my CR150 and CR50 that I bought in 1992. Sure wish I still had the CR600. Anyone else out there? Troy in Florida

Wow, this is great, a forum for some of the best amps ever made! I have a pair of ESX amps I purchased when they were being sold online a few years ago. I was amazed when I got them. They are beautiful amps. The heat sinks are so damn hefty, I swear I could use them to pound in nails. Well, I have always heard that the ESX amps were under-rated. Is this true? If so, by how much on average? (I have the 75x2) I'm using one of them bridged on an old-school Lanzar American 10" sub in a sealed box. This pro car stereo installer built it for me. The ESX Q 604 was in pristine condition inside and out to say the least. There were no marks on the fins. It was never worked on or repaired based on my assessment of the circuit board and interiors. The screws weren't stripped. I would compare the condition of the amp to a car that was traded in with 5000 miles on it. The amp literally seems to be barely used if at all. I would give it a 9/10 easily. Thank you, I look forward to enjoying the amp for years to come. I am even more impressed with my Optidrive 1000.1D. Proper setting for Kronos to power up Morel Ultimo 12? Should I set to flat or LP? Using a Alpine H701 processer.

Like the title says....I have a question for those running or have owned an ESX amp. ESX Q275.2 is on my Icon 10. The Icon is d2 and wired for 4 ohms in bridged mode at the amp. The bridged mode is rated at 800 watts.The hu is an Eclipse CD8454 with a pre out voltage rating of 8 volts. My issue is setting the gain. With well recorded media ....(No Ipod) Only high quality cd's....I feel my gain is too high to obtain the right output. Yes I fully realize that the gain is not a volume knob. i am new to zed audio's products and was wondering how they rated, specifically the deuce and minilith. are the ratings pretty much spot on, or are the underated? if they are underated by how much? i am going to be doing a new install over the course of the next few months and i'm trying to narrow down the equip. to be used. i am hoping to reach 1000-1200 for the sub stage and 100-150 for the comps. am i looking in the right direction or should i move on to something different? rob
