Ok so i hear a lot "the bigger the box the better." Then some manufacturers recommend small boxes. So what is Correct? Also advantages to bigger ported boxes vs recommended size ported. Also what is a good tuning for ports, or what do you use?

i have a box all designed on sketch up, 4.2cuft tuned about 30hz. the sub will be on the rear passenger side of the cab, it will take the middle seat and the passenger seat in the rear. the sub will aim inbetween the front two seats and the port will either face towards the roof of the cab all the way to the passenger side or towards the drivers side. what would you guys do? originally i was going to face the port towards the drivers side, but if i have a passenger in the back i think it might blow their ear drum a bit... but i am sceptical about aiming it towards the roof because i dont think ill have as much air moving throughout the cab as evenly? idk.. what would you …

I was doing a dry build of sub enclosure yesterday and I decided to see how the kreg jig would work on some scraps. I wasn't able to find a bit long enough and small enough to pre drill and the wood split. My question is can I use"L" brackets instead and how good would they work? Second question what sealer to use? I'm not going to be able to seal the top panel because I will have to put my subs in when I put the front baffles on and I will not be able to get to the top inside corners what should I do?

So tomorrow I'm going to begin building my enclosure for 2 10" Skar IVX's. I'll just be running these as a temp. setup on a BRZ 1200.1 So onto my questions, is this optimum setup for my vehicle? (2001 honda accord) I've heard subs forward, port forward sounds louder to the listeners ear. Any truth behind this? Do I have enough port area? Should I be running subs up port forward? Or vice versa? Any input is greatly appreciated and thanks

Ok I am getting ready to build my wall and was wondering what size bandpass box and port would be required for 3 solox 12's running off of 3 crunch GP3000dpros? Its going in a smaller car so that is why I am using 12's. tuning would be for everyday listening.

I'm going to build a box for a Fi Bl 15 that needs to fit against the angle of the seats in the cargo area of my 4runner. I want it to be ported and tuned to about 33-34 htz, but i'm having trouble finding out how to tune the box with the angled back on the box. I was wondering if anybody knows of any online programs or calculators that would tell me what size the port should be in the box to get it tuned right. Thanks for any help.

I need some music in the garage while i work on my car so it's not dead out there... I have spare parts from car audio that i will use, so as u see, nothing in specific like building in the car... I have a 10" sub Audiobahn Eternal wired to sundown 100.4 bridged at 8ohm. Outputting only ~108w on a test tone is PLENTY of power for this 10" sub. It can successfully drop down to 20hz on some custom music i made so i know it's not a bad driver to use for simple music setup. Now, the box i have it in is not suitable.. but i have a problem... The low end extension doesn't become really audible below ~30hz unless i am standing 20ft away from it. How can I get decent low end outp…

Its been long time since i been getting all my equipment and now im only a couple of weeks from it :bigclap:. now im scared to design my own box because of the big box that is going to be and i dont want to mess up. i have a silverado ext cab and im taking the back seat out, no one fits back there anyways . Ok my max dimensions are 26L,24w,26h those are counting the thickness of the wood oh and i almost forgot the subs are gonna be 2 18's DC lvl 4 with lvl5 coils. i was thinking of having the subs front and port front in the bottom tune to 32 or 33 hz if anyone has has time to build me a design il totally appreciated.

Me and a buddy are building a box for 3 12 inch w6's, I was curious if I could have them all in the same chamber or if I should divide them all into individual boxes we already have the entire box built excluding the face of the box.. The dimensions are 51 3/4 wide by 16 1/8 tall by the top board is 15 inches deep and the bottom board is 18 7/8 deep (the box will have a slant face)(I am also using 3/4 inch mdf). I would also like to know how big I should build the port I wanna get about 32-33 hertz. Any help would be very much appreciated.

Double post.. sorry Hello all . Im in beginning stages of design for my 2002 PT Cruiser Enclosure. This will be my first year competing in the lanes for SPL. I know its correct to have a daily box and a burp box, but I would like to get as close of a mix in one box as possible. My initial thoughts would be to have subs facing up and slot port facing up as well because of the lack of room. So far I am just looking for any advice I can get. Max Dimensions: 39w x 20h x 14d. Would prefer port in between subs but If it doesnt make a difference, im flexible. Am I on the right track? Any help would be appreciated.

I'm looking to build a new box for my blazer. I listen to mostly rock/metal but I do like rap. From what I've read 4 cubed and 30hz. If someone thinks differently i'm open to suggestions. My max dims are 37.5 wheel well to wheel well, 32 from the top of the rear seat to the tailgate, floor to top of seat is 15. I'm planning on putting in a false floor and I don't want to block my rear window so short is good. I'm running a hifonics brutus 1208D if that matters Thanks for any help

Also, I'm going to drill into the rear cargo area of my tahoe and bolt those trays down...How do I ensure I'm not drilling into something important? (On the bottom of the truck) Thanks
