So tomorrow I'm going to begin building my enclosure for 2 10" Skar IVX's. I'll just be running these as a temp. setup on a BRZ 1200.1 So onto my questions, is this optimum setup for my vehicle? (2001 honda accord) I've heard subs forward, port forward sounds louder to the listeners ear. Any truth behind this? Do I have enough port area? Should I be running subs up port forward? Or vice versa? Any input is greatly appreciated and thanks

Hi, Just wanted to know if anyone is going to the DB Drag World Finals. We may be competing this year providing we hit our target SPL score which is 160db. We currently compete in Street C and are hitting 1580DB in the UK. Are there any street competitors here on the forum? What are you hitting at the moment and what do you hope to be hitting at the World Finals if you're attending?

  4. Me and a buddy are building a box for 3 12 inch w6's, I was curious if I could have them all in the same chamber or if I should divide them all into individual boxes we already have the entire box built excluding the face of the box.. The dimensions are 51 3/4 wide by 16 1/8 tall by the top board is 15 inches deep and the bottom board is 18 7/8 deep (the box will have a slant face)(I am also using 3/4 inch mdf). I would also like to know how big I should build the port I wanna get about 32-33 hertz. Any help would be very much appreciated.

Currently I have a 15" zcon in a 4th order bp ported through rear deck. Going to be getting 2 12" zcons and trying to think of what kind of box to start on. 4th . 6th. Ported with trunk sealed off? Which ever one I chose I'm going to be porting through my rear deck.. I think I can get about 9 or 10 cubes if I pretty much Max the trunk out .which I could do... Just seeing if anyone has any opinions on anything that will help me make up my mind? If you got any questions just ask. Going to be running 4 - 5k. Maybe a little more. Wanting to get started a.s.a.p. thanks.

Hi, i am looking for Street A class. My install is: Two amp EM-PHASER EA1800D, and two ALPINE SWR1042D. today i was build box 2.3f^3 (65l) and port at 45hz~ cross area 43.25in^2 (280cm^2) at 19.6in (50cm) long. so my result now is 147.4dB at 54hz. i have about 5kW at 0.5ohm linked amps (99.1V*51.7A). in Lithuanian street A class we can use one amp or two linked. so with open door result is 148.2. Somebody have an ideas how can I do more batter result?

Ok so i hear a lot "the bigger the box the better." Then some manufacturers recommend small boxes. So what is Correct? Also advantages to bigger ported boxes vs recommended size ported. Also what is a good tuning for ports, or what do you use?

Double post.. sorry Hello all . Im in beginning stages of design for my 2002 PT Cruiser Enclosure. This will be my first year competing in the lanes for SPL. I know its correct to have a daily box and a burp box, but I would like to get as close of a mix in one box as possible. My initial thoughts would be to have subs facing up and slot port facing up as well because of the lack of room. So far I am just looking for any advice I can get. Max Dimensions: 39w x 20h x 14d. Would prefer port in between subs but If it doesnt make a difference, im flexible. Am I on the right track? Any help would be appreciated.

I'm going to build a box for a Fi Bl 15 that needs to fit against the angle of the seats in the cargo area of my 4runner. I want it to be ported and tuned to about 33-34 htz, but i'm having trouble finding out how to tune the box with the angled back on the box. I was wondering if anybody knows of any online programs or calculators that would tell me what size the port should be in the box to get it tuned right. Thanks for any help.

  16. This is about the best fiberglass walkthrough I've found. My plan thus far is to cut out some holes in the door panels, make some MDF speaker rings, mount them to the door panels with little metal brackets, spread some fabric over it, and put a few layers of resiny fiberglass cloth over it. Sand and repeat, sand again. Am I missing anything?

Ok I am getting ready to build my wall and was wondering what size bandpass box and port would be required for 3 solox 12's running off of 3 crunch GP3000dpros? Its going in a smaller car so that is why I am using 12's. tuning would be for everyday listening.

I have a visonik 12" woofer, that came from this set: http://ep.yimg.com/ip/I/millionbuy_2051_58365261 I am looking for some dimensions for a box, I intend to build it my self. I am planning low tuned, and ported. it will be in my room for the time being, so i would say slot ported, to ~28-32hz. size isn't an issue. And, it certainly wouldn't hurt to recieve a few tips for a first time builder.

  23. Just wondering what you guys think the best programs for simulatiing frequency response, SPL, and similar things, especially for in car or in room calculations. I have WINisd now, alpha and beta, but they both yield problems on my computer for some reason and I can't seem to figure it out. The programs seem pretty easy to use, maybe I just haven't explored these enough. What do you use, does it cost anything, ease of use, knowledge required, different features....
