  2. Well, because i will be removing the weight issue in my car soon, nothing stands in my way now for my next build so i need anyone's opinions on the strongest build u can think of. Any negative thoughts about any methods is 100% welcome as i don't want something that will fail. Here is one method i have been thinking about but remember, i'm looking for the best option(within costs, hehe, dont wanna spend several grand on an enclosure) Option1- Lay 2x4s on their side(so 3.5" thick) all the way around the car. Then inside of this chamber, lay 1 layer of 3\4" Oak inside. Install Angle Iron outside of the enclosure and weld 1\8" thick steel bars to all corners of the Angle Ir…

I want you guys to post things here such as materials and bracing methods used to create the stiffest, non-flex box out there and how it's done. I'm tryin to find some materials so when i go to tear down my wall that i have something to fall back on. I've came across this but the comments are up in the air... Some competitors say it's good... others who haven't used it say it won't hold up... Durock... I had visioned on using 5 layers of 5\16" thick in between 2 layers of 0.75" MDF = approximately 3" thick total material. Then cross brace it with - 0.75" all-thread. Now, i'm looking for the stiffest out there... I had read to pour resin in, on and around each Durock lay…

I have two alpine type r 12's and i want to build a crx-style box for them. This is the design i came up with using the max dimensions i can inside my vehicle. I really can't seem to get the tuning quite right, and it says its about 30hz, but what is the ideal frequency to tune to for daily driving? Also any helpful hints to getting this box to stay together? I blew the port off the screws in my bandpass like two weeks ago. EDIT: And yes the subs are going to go on the top.

  7. Vehicle : 2010 Toyota Tundra DC Location in the vehicle: back passenger side Box size: W:22, H:19, D:17, using 3/4" = 3.0 cubes Subwoofer make and model: SSA ZCON 12 D2 Subwoofer Size: 12" Number of Subwoofers: 1 Type of Port: Aero Preferably (have a flared 3" aero already in my possession) What type of music do you like?: DNB Everyday listening Tuning Freq (Hz): 31hz Volume : 3.0 ------------------------------- So my question, is the 3" aeroport going to be large enough diameter for this sub? I've read where people have used ports that were too small for the sub utilized, and didn't want to run into the same issue. Any further suggestions or ideas for box and/or port(s…

hey guys, i know i have a thread already about this topic, but that was for my ranger. i now have a 2002 f150 ext. cab and my zcon is on its way so i want to start building a box. i took some measurements tonight and i have up to 6 cubes to play with here. i want ported obviously tuned to aorund 34Hz? i love my lows deep and loud haha. i will have it getting 2300 watts from my aq3500 and yes i have the electrical to back it up with no problem. now, how many cubes do you guys suggest i should go for with this kind of power, and the tuning i want? i will have the sub and port up unless told otherwise. let me know what you guys think!!

Was just wondering if anyone has built a series 6th order for a 12" or 15" ZCON. Would be interested in any enclosure specs and experiences you could share. Thanks.

  14. Started by Dexter Chaos,

I have been messing around with WINISD for the past day or so. Trying to model my 12" Zcons and follow what these graphs are telling me. 1. When I enter the parameters using the autofill for some of them my graph peaks at around 100hz even though my box tuning is much lower. Why is this? Can someone help this NEWB to understand what I have done in error. 2. Also if I enter the paramters of the web site it gives me error messages saying they are incorrect. If I let it autofill some of them then it will graph. Any explanantion why this is? Thanks in advance.
