Alright, so my boss finally warming up to the idea of making a wall in his Cavalier for our shop demo car! Now, this isn't 100% going to happen, but I'm excited and want to be ready for when he decides. I know this place has a ton of knowledge, plenty and plenty of people who have made walls. I guess I'm looking for just general rules and/or tips to make sure it will turn out well. Iv decided just to make a normal, flat and vented wall. Leaning towards 4 15's with a nice big slot port on the drivers side. Any tips are welcome of course, thanks guys!

Specs: 4 15's, 15ft^3 tuned to 35hz via a 45"x4.5" port. The overall dimensions are 48" wide x 25" tall x 34" deep. I bet you'd never see me post this M5 haha anyways, ill post what im looking to do and what im working with. its my daily driver, a 2011 ford flex, with the stock Sony system, SYNC, etc. first up, HU. i dont want to replace the stock unit. its a good unit and i dont want to mess with an aftermarket one. theres a guy on the flex forum that runs a JBL MS8 with his stock unit and says its incredible. budget wise, im not going to throw a number, but i will state that i am not going to be paying like 500+ per speaker or anything crazy. this is just a daily driver and even the cheapest of a "sq" setup will sound good to me, as i mainly use pro audio in my other rides. i d…

Single Q12 going in 2005 jimmy and was wondering if I should just go with the cut sheets found here http://www.soundsolutionsaudio.com/forum/topic/44520-q-series-cut-sheets/#entry701997 or should I get someone to design one? wondering if this would be optimal for good SQ over SPL. Should I place enclosure against front seats facing sub backwards, upwards, towards front or behind back seats facing up or backwards ?? Looking for SQ quick response over SPL. Wanting ported for better power usage and also heard ported can sound just as good as sealed so went that way and got without high QTS. Anyone have experience with single 12 in SUV ? Anyone maybe be able to design an encl…

So I used to run my Fi SSD 18 in a 9cuft box tuned to 32hz (or close, it was my first box build and I had some hard times with it). I liked how it sounded, though it was on the high end as far as box recommendations go for an SSD 18. The thing with the box was that it suffered slight water damage and aesthetically wasn't as pleasing as I preferred. I was looking to either paint it or put some sort of vinyl or something over it to improve its looks, but never got around to it. Another thing that was annoying about the box was how LARGE it was lol. It was initially designed for my room, but was moved out to my Jeep Cherokee. I wanted to keep the back seats up, so the only w…

Hi I am doing my best to avoid stupid pointless purchases with my summer build however the box Ive had built did not pass your guys inspection http://www.soundsolutionsaudio.com/forum/topic/58341-please-help-me-figure-out-port-tuning-did-i-get-screwed/ Current box: 34W X 14H X 24D outer dimensions Port: 4W X 12.5H X 12D (no L) (2) DD 2512C on (2) hifonics brz1200 @ 1ohm ea the only difference with the pics in the link above is that I have removed the slanted port divider I'm wondering if a "better" box would be the way to go I have no reason to think the box is performing poorly I'm currently on a mission for more power but Ive got alot of responses to my amp bu…

I'm considering building a bandpass box for my BTL, has anyone here ever heard a BTL in any of these boxes I listed below? If yes, how did it sound? I currently have a box built to BTL specs but tuned to 34hz.. Most people would be impressed by how it sounded and by how loud it got; but I would like it to get louder. 4th order: rear chamber sealed. front chamber ported. Best suited to subs that work best in sealed boxes. 6th order: rear chamber ported. front chamber ported. Best suited to subs that work best in ported boxes. Dual-bass-Reflex: rear chamber ported. front chamber ported. front and rear chamber connected by a third port. Best suited to subs that work best in …

I have been reading on t-line boxes for a good 2-3 hours now and am just not understanding the design part 100%. Only one that I have read and felt like I somewhat understood was the "u-shape" style design. I have always done slot ported boxes and was always happy. I think it is time for me to learn a little more about boxes. So far, this is what I have grasped Say I wanted a box tuned to 34hz. I would take 1130 (the speed of sound,) divide that by 34. Which would lead me to 32.25ft (rounded a tad). I would multiply that by .25 because I am looking for the 1/4 wave length. I would need a port 8.0625ft long. And SD equals port area? Also I am aware this is not a full t-l…

Hi, so I'm in the process of fixing up my 300zx twin turbo and am figuring out designs for sub boxes and want some advice on configurations etc. I have two re se10s I was thinking of using or Incriminator i10s on around 150rms a peice (keeping power low to avoid having to upgrade electrical and going more for sound quality over getting loud.) My issue is I want to do a box in either side of my hatch but there are some lines on the one side which makes it have a much smaller available space. My question is should I make both boxes fill up the space and have different size boxes or make them both match? I will probably stay sealed to avoid having to figure out airspace an…

Im designing my wall for two 18 zcons. Going in an 87 dodge colt lol will have them wired to .7 on an audioque 3500.1. upgrading to a 5k or 7k in near future so keep that in mind. so far i figure I will have 14 ft3 for my subs after all displacements. so 7 cubes each My port will be 197 sq in tuned to 34. will be 5.5" x 35 3/4" roughly 14 sq in per foot. Am i building the box too big? since i plan on upgrading to bigger power should i go smaller? also give opinions on port size and tuning. or do i stop asking questions and just get it done and find out lol

Hello, I am looking for some help on whether I should do a sealed box, ported or slotted enclosure for my SA-8 V.2 SPL Dual 2OHM. For now, I'm putting a Sony Xplod XM-GTR2022 amp on it. Which runs 500RMS when bridged. I want to build the box slotted preferably, unless you guys give me enough reason to just do a sealed box if its going to be a better setup. If anyone out there already has some plans for a box they have built for their SA-8 V2, shoot them over to me! I'm open to pretty much anything right now. Im putting this sub in a Kia Forte Koup. Working with 19"Hx32"Wx13"D Thanks SSA!

I have made a ported box just over 1 cubic foot. This is for a 400rms, 10 inch sub. For a 2.5 inch wide pipe, I need 11 inches long for a 32 hz tune. IS IT OKAY TO USE 2 PORTS? and what type of pipe do I get? Can I just run to home depot, find a strong looking 2.5inch wide pipe, and go from there? and are 2 ports okay to use, even if there the same length?

I will be building 2 of these boxes sometime in the next week. There are matched to fit my tiny trunk (00 Mustang Vert)Each is 0.86896 cubic feet, tuned to 32 or 33hz. Each will house a CompVR 10 inch sub, Seeing around 400rms each. The boxes are from a friend so they will be free. There replacing prefab sealed boxes about .8 cubes I would like to know if theres anything wrong with my design. The port is 12.5 inches wide, by half an inch tall. It extends all the way until it is half an inch from the back wall.

Im in the process of a biulding a new setup which will consist of a 12in FI BL fully loaded with a Hifonics Brutus BRZ1700.1d. My last setup was a 12in FI Q with a Hifonics HFI1000.1d and i had a box i built myself that was 2.5 ft cubes tuned to 33hz with a 2.5 in slot port width. I had it in a chevy blazer and i could hear the air coming out of the box? How do i limit that noise so it sounds clearer? Vehicle: 2006 Nissan Altima Location:Trunk Space Available:30x18x15 Sub: 12in FI BL Music:Rap and Dubstep Goal: I want it to have the best SQ while doing well with SPL

Okay, so I have very little room to work with, and needed help on how to port a wedge box. I have 2 designs I can use for the port, both are using the same box. Width: 15 inches. Height 1 (front): 12.5 Inches Height 2 (back) 7 inches Depth: 18 inches total volume (using 3/4 inch think wood) = 1.06348 cubic feet. So one idea is to place the port under the sub which is the eaisiest. 13.5 inches long, half an inch tall, 14.5 inches of port space (32hz tuned) ^ I need to know if theres anything wrong with this idea? The 2nd idea, which is more complicated, is placing the port on the side of the box. I have no idea how to calculate such a slant. Would the 1st option be …

Please contact Josh at http://www.facebook.com/#!/josh.w.hart or http://www.facebook.com/#!/groups/449888281732464/ and PLEASE tell him I sent you! He is truely a great guy to deal with. I was sent to him from Duran. He responds very fast, and is easy to deal with. He has just finished up my design for my 18" SSA Evil and really went above and beyond my expectiations. This is not just any ordinary designer who build an enclosure around your limited space. He actually aims for your goals and utilizes your intended goals into every aspect of the enclosure. When you message him, I would suggest to include any additional information that you may think that could help the desi…

I would like some input on building an enclosure for 2 ZCON 15D2's. The max cubes available for the box is 7(3.5 per sub) after displacements. I want to tune at 31hz. I have seen the recommendations SSA's site for enclosures but would like to have some outside information on how well these will do in 7 cubes . They will be running off a SAZ3500 at .5ohms. Thanks.
