For those with hatchbacks and/or hatchback experience. Folding rear seats, so large enclosures will work. What enclosure has worked best for you? CRX style? Sub up, back, forward, or angled towards glass? Port up, back, forwatd, or angled towards glass? Daily driver. I'm tempted to try something in the Mazda for the uberwoofer. Can be pretty large, so uncommon enclosures can work as well. It'll boil down to having the sub and port firing forward between the seats or any of the above ways.

Just trying to get an idea on what kind of screws are best for putting together a big box that is made of 2 sheets of 3/4 MDF stacked. (1 1/2). What about sealer? i know some people use liquid nails, but have heard other people say no way. just maybe some options on this critical piece of high pressure builds.

skip to about 9:30 to see them take apart the speaker box, or watch the entire video if you want a good laugh. I've never seen anything like this in my life. And I thought the chevelle that Meade fixed was bad LOL it does not compare to this http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AKH23bamIKU

As the title said I am looking for the best options for my install. I am thinking of just using the HU power beacuse I honestly don't want an amp in there right now. I have a mediocre at best JVC HU for the moment, and stock speakers. The dash takes 4" speakers and the back (which I could give a shit less about) is 6x8 IIRC. Sean (M5) had asked for some pictures with a 3" circle around the A pillar (if I understood right). Well Sean all I had laying around is a 2" challenge coin so hopefully this will work nonetheless. My goals are loud, clear-ish (not a SQ guru but I know what muddy music and just off music sounds like) music for daily driving around. Especially with t…

I have an 02 mazda protege sedan I'm planning on making a custom kick pod out of fiberglass for my front doors. I'm going to put my hertz mlk 165 (6.5'') midbass component drivers into the kick pods. Will be ran off of an eclipse EA4100 amp bridged to 150w x 2 (for now) I like listening to rock music with a lot of bass around 80 hz. My sub is a dc lvl 4, ran off of a sundown sae1200, Right now its in a ported box tuned to 32 hz, but I'm probably going to be building another box sometime (idk what kind) what type of enclosure would be the best encolsure for my midbass drivers? I can make a sphere-shaped enclosure; does shape matter for a sealed box? while we're at it, what…

I'm redoing my box for 3-10" (or 3-12" not sure yet). Now currently my port is down low facing the dash. The current box is a TON louder with all the windows down vs up. I know this is normal sometime, but I don't like driving around disturbing everyone with them down, lol. So I was wondering if moving the port would help or make a difference? Port up with the subs, port back towards the back wall of the truck, or try it again with the new box faceing towards the dash again? Just an idea of what it looks like at this time. You can see the "box" at the bottom. It's an "semi-external" with 8" outside & 4" inside to save some space.

I've been trying to find a 12 that would give me the best output for my 350z....so obviously I don't have a ton of space but I'm thinking 2.5 cubes before displacement. I don't know a lot about this stuff so I thought I would come on here and ask. I was either thinking a xcon or a sundown Z maybe or soundqubed to save some money. Any opinions on what I should do would be great. I forgot to mention that the amp is a older nine.1 which is about 1500 rms at 1ohm.

Hi, I finally decided on building my own HT subwoofer (50%HT and 50$ music) and I want to build the best I can of cours at a reasonnable price. I believe I should go with a 18" and planning on using a 7cu3 box. I also love massive bass and I would agree to have a little more power even if I loose a little quality, this is why I am going with a ported box. Now, is the Fi Q 18 would be my best bet? What about the TEAM serie? I don't know yet what frequency I will be using, somewhere arounf 30hz? For the box, here is the 18" shema : http://www.soundsolutionsaudio.com/forum/topic/44520-q-series-cut-sheets/ Thank for your help!

So far looking at the image dynamics idq10v3. (500 watts rms) also would a sub 500 watts rms overpower the front stage? From the comps? cheers any reviews on the idq would be good too

I have a diamond audio d915d2, a us amps AX1000de amp, alphasonik components with a us amp merlin md41 powering them. i am looking for basically a realiable wehicle that will be the best for a LSQ system. looking to pay around $20k or less, or if i should stick with the car i have now. dont have an enclosure yet, but will build for respective car. (if keeping the accord i will be making a fiberglass corner enclosure), and i may also be doing this for any other car i may purchase. something sporty, and that…

I realize this is somewhat subwoofer dependent, but what are the best tuning frequencies for different goals like spl or sq. Also what would be a good way to match a subwoofer to the goals, T/S parameters? Any help would be appreciated, thanks.

This is my first attempt at sealing off my trunk. With the new box forward facing, there is a gap on top that is about 1 inch in height, and gaps on ether side about 2-3 inches. What are some ideas on sealing this off completely and still look somewhat respectable? The rear deck is completely sealed off already. The only sealing that needs done is the gaps between the box and the trunk opening.

So the time has come to finally make my box as work has slowed down and my carpenter (father) has some time to help me get a enclosure made for my pair of RE SX 15's. My major dilemma here is that the opening for the trunk limits the size of the box to be rather small compared to the trunk size unless i do one of two things... Option 1, Build the box in 2 halves then screw together inside the vehicle. Other then volume taken up for the small 2 inch border around both halfs of the box i plan to connect them with, what other problems could the pose for the sound of the box? I'm able to get like 12 cubes into this trunk if i am able two to part this box... Option 2, Build th…
