  1. Hi all I am looking for advice on a design for a single ported enclosure to carry a 13W7 sub. The enclosure would be sitting on the rear right hand seat, directly behind the driver (Right hand drive in Australia). There are a couple of things I need to clarify first... Is the recommended internal volume of 2.375 cubic foot too small for this sub? If so, what would be a better size. Here we only get 18mm thick MDF (about 0.71"), so to make the front baffle stronger, should I just glue and screw two together? - Will it start to rattle / vibrate loose? If I make the box to JL's specs of 2.375, I would have to change the outside dimensions of the box to be (19.7" x 19.7" x 17…

Double post.. sorry Hello all . Im in beginning stages of design for my 2002 PT Cruiser Enclosure. This will be my first year competing in the lanes for SPL. I know its correct to have a daily box and a burp box, but I would like to get as close of a mix in one box as possible. My initial thoughts would be to have subs facing up and slot port facing up as well because of the lack of room. So far I am just looking for any advice I can get. Max Dimensions: 39w x 20h x 14d. Would prefer port in between subs but If it doesnt make a difference, im flexible. Am I on the right track? Any help would be appreciated.

So Im collecting parts to do a blowthrough in my fullsize chevy regular cab. 1988 k1500. Just bought a crescendo 3500. gonna get a singer 250a alt and a couple 3100s and one up front. multiple runs of 0. okay so now for my question. i have been pondering ideas on sub/box setups. I have been set on 2 18s for a while, but got to thinking about 4 15s. and idk whether to a 4th order or just a regular ported box. i can do the rregular box tuning but would need some help designing a 4th order as i have read and have yet to wrap my brain around it. My goals: Daily, Hairtricks (move air yo) not super low. 30-32 (in regular box tuning terms) not sure where that would be in a 4th o…

I've been wanting to start my box build but could not find anyone selling PVC 8" x 20" flare aeroports. I've contacted a guy named Derrick that sells them but have not responded for over a month. I don't want to make my own and would rather buy a kit, and I have already looked at the metal ones but they are pricey. Anybody know where to get them?

I am designing a custom box I want tuned at 32 hz and I am not sure if I am using these online calculators correctly. I enter my box volume and height and width of the port and it gives me the length i need to make it... my question is what is my box volume? It is with or without the port??? My box is all completly designed and ready except for the port length because I am not sure how to get my desired frequency. Here is my current box. Height= 15 inches Width= 17 inches Depth= 20 inches (I might lower depending on how much I need for port) Port height = 13.5 inches Port width = 2 inches if this enclosure was SEALED, its total volume = 2.24 cubic feet, i was aiming more …

A buddy of mine wants me to build him a subwoofer box for two 12's in his Ford Ranger Edge. Now he is taking out all of his rear seats which gives me a good chunk of space to work with. I know how to build and design an enclosure, all i really need to know is subwoofer/port orientation. Havent made an enclosure for a truck like this and I dont have the time to build multiple enclosures and test them all out so I was hoping this could save me some time. -Mike

  14. I have a 2004 Cadillac SLS and am looking to fab a 4th order enclosure for 2 SA-8 V.2's on a SAZ 1500 V.3. The reason for the smaller sub is to help save room in the trunk and to still have high output. The reason for the 4th order is the infamous Cadillac trunk bass trap, so I would like to port the enclosure through the stock sub location in my rear deck. I am not too familiar with hertz levels or anything, but I can tell you that I listen to every thing from Hip Hop, R&B, Jazz, and Alternative. New to the forum here and just looking for some experienced suggestions. If you would like more detail please let me know. Would like a little seasoned input before I spend …

  15. Hello all. I was hoping to get some advice from the SSA community. I have a 2009 Sierra Ext Cab. Currently for substage i am running a 18" Zcon and AQ2200d. The box is 6.6cu ft. net @ 28hz. with 112sq in port area. Sub is firing forward behind drivers seat, port is up. The whole truck has been deadened other than the roof (not too much flex). Pics can be seen im my build thread. Since the pics i have added the AQ2200d and changed the tuning from 34hz to 28hz with a port extension. (the port now fires up from the top front instead of the top back) Changing the tuning really helped with my lows but its still not quite where i want it to be volume wise. Some songs that slamm…

I am working on an intrepid. I am building a new box from the ground up to compliment the rear deck that i am fabricating with fiber. I would like to build a box to be able to port up through the deck and blow into the car. I will be using 2 12" ICONS. I have never designed a complex box before, so this is what I ask. What would be the best way to fire the subs, what should i do with the inside of this box, and HOW should i fire it up into the car? Any help would be appreciated, keep in mind that I am a box newbie. Patrick

im having one hell of a time trying to cut a couple 45's, do i really need them? i have some stuff to seal the edges, its not caulk though. what do i need to brace it. gonna sand it all since theres some excess glue all over the place, and my top wont fit right cause the port walls are a little taller, so i need to sand that down. and finally, will it be a problem since one sub is unloading on the port wall? comments, suggestions?

Would this be a good box for 2 xcon 12s running a crescendo bc 2000d I'm planning on running it at 2 ohms because I'm hoping to run stock alt with an extra batt. in the rear for now. I was hoping to run sub and port forward sealed from the trunk so my max height is 18 and width is 32 and that's real tight. If someone else has done this I would love to see pics for reference. http://i1257.photobucket.com/albums/ii511/trpkkd/accordbox.png

Ok, I tried to do some research about tuning and port area, so I didn't have to make a thread. I read a thread on smd and they were saying 10sqin per cube was better for low tuning and then others were saying other things like more the better so I don't know which is right. A lot of misleading information out there!! Much rather ask here and know I'm getting the right answer lol I'm most likely going to be ask pro-rabbit for a design once I am sure of my measurements,It'd be nice to know exactly what it should be, so I can expand my knowledge. I would like to know for my system specifically, but also in general. EQUIPMENT: Subs: 2 SSA Zcon 12s Amp: 2 Crescendo BC2000s(won…
