So, i am HOPING this is the final box design for my SPL-15 as I am going ot buy some MDF here in a couple hours. HOWEVER i just thought since this is my very first box design done by myself I would throw it up here for you'all to check out and let me know what you think. Nothing Fancy, just a simple ported box....

Topic says is.. I'm still running a Fi ssd 15 and a Sundown sae-1200d.. I know I'm not giving a lot of detail here, but should this setup hit the lows like in the song " White Girl " ? If so do I need a new box tuned to a lower hz?

I'm just wondering, being new to this forum. Who on here competes & who doesn't. Also, what sanctioning bodies are you all in? Also, any1 on here also on the CS&P forums?

Hi everyone. I'm a new guy here on your forum. I'm going to need some help from any REAL GOOD box designers here. I just bought (waiting for it to be shipped to me) a 15" Kicker L5 and i'm going to power it with a Hifonics BXI1206D amp. I'm currently driving a '01 Expedition and i took out the 3rd row seat so i have A LOT of space to use here. I'd like to go with a vented box, something that will give me some pounding bass but clean. I am currently building a new setup and I am torn on how to tune my box. I will be running 2 18" Fi BTL N2's, 2 Hifonics 2600.10's, and 4 XS D2400's. I am posting to get feedback on which setup would be best, going with a spl setup and tune my box around 32-35 Hz, or go with a wave setup and tune my box around 25-28 Hz.? Feedback and oppinions are needed thanks.

Right now, Im running an audioque hdc3 12 in a 2.2 cubic ft box ported at 30 hz. Im losing alot of sound quality with this box and I was wondering if there are any specific box types (other than sealed) in which I may be able to retain a bit more quality. Im aware that the hdc3 is known for poor sound quality but Id rather not purchase a new driver at this time. I know anybody could tell me that it varies from car to car or something general like that but Im just looking for anyone with some experience who may be able to help me out. Open to any suggestions! I have noticed that my subs (2 12 inch pioneer champs) are peaking high. I think my tune may be messed up but I just cant get it right. It will get real low and then attempt to hit a few high notes. The amp itself should be tuned with lpf at around 35 and ssf at around 20. Any suggestions?

Ok,so far a lot of testing and tweaking I cannot get my 187s to sound right or get nearly as loud as two 15s should. So I am doing a swap out, I have narrowed it down to 2-3 subs. The Fi BL d1 12, the DC sound labs level 3 D1 or this is a huge "maybe" I was recommended to try the lanzar opti drive 12..........? just trying to get some feedback and if anyone has personally used/tested any of these subs going to run it off my AQ 1200d

New JBL W12GTi MKII waiting for a home. Need to do sealed as space is limited but plenty to work with for a proper enclosure. Looking for it to attack the lows and have a flat(ish) response. Not a ground pounder, rather a SQ build for this old man.

Please help, need enclosure ideas looking to break 150 while still being able to listen to music. I'm running a pioneer premier 3000.1 temporarily but will be changing over to hifonics cyclops. Any ideas would be helpful as i was debating a wall but am not sure what would be best. Have tried so many boxes that i'm tird of killing trees...PLEASE HELP!!! Thanks.

how exactly do they work?? i see people use them that usually have limited space but i dont understand why or how they are used. also do they sound any different then a regular slot style ported box? i want to do 2 15" lethal injection's but i would like to get a quick insight on aero ports and how they are used and if they sound worse then slot ported.

If you have two boxes at the same volume and say one had a 2" slot port width and the other had a 3.5" port width tuned to the same frequency would there be a difference? Would the 3.5" port allow you to feel the lows better than the 2" port but sound the same since they are tuned the same?

Well I went to my teams shop last weekend and decided I would do a little testing with my new setup. The equipment used is a 21in warden and SAZ 3500. The vehicle is a 97 blazer. Electrical is one yellow top under the hood one extra battery in the back and 2/0 welding cable. Box is a little over 9 cubes and tuned at 40 htz. I don't want to upset anyone by saying I'm looking for an SQ setup if I'm actually looking for SPL, so I'm hoping someone can steer me in the right direction. I don't like mainstream rap music, and I don't ever plan on getting my setup metered or compete, so big dB numbers arent a concern. I listen to mostly underground hip hop and a little bit of rock, like 80s metallica/slayer, so hardly any of the songs I listen to dip into the really low frequency range. For my next set up I'm thinking of running an active 3 way system. I would like to run an Sax-125.2 or a Sax100.4 whichever is better for a 3 way setup. My budget its slightly fixed anywhere from 200-250 for the 3 way set up. This will be going into a 4 Door Explorer. I have approximately 2.6ft^3 before displacements. This box is for 2 DC Level 3 10s. I'd like for the box to be tuned around 33hz, I planned on using a pvc/abs round port. What diameter should I use and how long should it be?

ok i built a box the length is 31 inch's with is 21 inch's hight is 17 inch's now i have 1 port comming off each side of of the outer 31 inch walls they are 3by21by22 one port on each side of the outer walls of the 31 inch's iam trying to find what cubic feet i have and what is my box tuned at on hurtz ?? any help would be verry helpfull i dident no i could get so stressed on a speaker box!18 fi btl iswhat i have

Hi, I would like some thoughts on my box design. From what I've calculated, the numbers work. I'm tuning to 35 hz. The colors are to distinguish the different panels. Also, please disregard the different thickness of the walls. I didn't want to have to build the box again just to make the thickness right. I have 4 DP21"s and 2 SAZ-3000d's that I'm stuffing in my 03 Expedition. I'm looking for ways to get enough port area with the subs...The box will be at the B-pillars sealed from the back. It will be about 40 cubes tuned to between 30 and 32 hz. So I'm wandering if I could port through the diamond itself without any problems. Or would this be bad?...Any other ways to get sufficient port area would be appreciated also.

I have a chance to pick up some 6" aluminum tube from work for cheap. Would this cause too much of a hollow sound or echo? I plan on securing them in the box. Possible having an end made that flares. Anyone tried this?

Hey guys, Currently in the works of trying to figure out a box that will work with my Zv4. Here's some info: - Going in a 2000 f150 ext cab in place of the smaller rear seat.- Using my Saz-2000D amp- Sundown Zv4 12, suggested 2.25-2.75 cu ft- Wanting tuning around 30hz-32hz- Max Dem: W: 17 | D: 18 | H: 26 or so |- Would prefer sub to fire upwards.- I love rap music and bass heavy electronic similar to white clouds from decaf or lights from bassnectar.
