We will be finishing up on my son's car soon and I have been wanting to wall-up my ride for a while now. I have a '93 T-Bird and I really have no need for the back seat. I have thought about a newer vehicle, but the old bird runs and drives great and I work very close to home. I allready have a pair of Saz-2000 amps and 150' of 1/0 welding cable. I am deciding as I write this about the SA-15 Presale. My thoughts about the wall are as follows: From a rough measurement I have 31-31.5" height 42" width 22-23" depth These measurements should give around 14.75cu' gross I would like a slot port centered with a measurement of about 29.5" high and a width of 6" thats 177" at alm…

Whats up guys, I'm kinda a noob here but I've been lurking around these forums for awhile trying to learn as much as I can before I start this project. I'm mainly here right now to talk about the box. I'm planning on building one myself and the specs are going to be 3.8cu ft tuned to 31Hz. I used a box calculator from a site called KlausAudio.com and I was going to see what you guys thought, because I've heard these online calculators can be off sometimes. Here is a list of the dimensions of the panels needed. The sub will obviously be a Fi Q15(Dual 2 ohm) and I'm planning on running it on a AQ1200D amp. And my car is a 2002 Camry. Just wanted to get some input from gu…

Hi, I am getting ready to switch my system from my firebird to my truck, so I can sell the car.. It's going in a 99 s10 ext. cab xtreme.. I have 1 12" pioneer premier 3002d4, It's in a sealed box now, but I want to build a ported one for it. I will be using a precision power 1500 amp at 2 ohms, so roughly 1000 watts to it. I know how to do the wood work, but I am not near as good with calculations.lol. A good slot port box design wood help a lot, if anyone has the time. I would like it to be tuned to 34hz, with 1.7 cu without the sub. For room in the back of the truck I have 14 1/2"x18 1/2"x50".. I know thats more than enough, but thats the total space I have. Also, wh…

I'm starting my first system with 4 of the rl-i8's and need a lil help on my box. it's not gonna be just one big box but 4 seperate ported boxes. each one will be about (acording to the program im using) 10" wide, 15" tall, and 9" deep. im having problems with the port though. the program said it should be 1/2" by 2" by 2" deep for a 35 hz. this sounds way small to me. is it? and does this idea seem good or is it too "over the top."

I'm running an Fi BL 15 on a sundown sae-1200d in a scion tc. Bought a prefab box for it a couple of months ago but im looking to get my system as loud as possible (currently upgrading electrical as well). The box seems to be tuned around maybe 50hz or so, as in Young jeezy's song "white girl" (i believe it has a 30hz note and a 50hz note) and the 50hz one hits way harder than the 30. If i built a new box, and tuned it to around 33hz, in that song it would be the other way around having the 30hz note be the louder one correct? Heres the box that I have now: http://img841.imageshack.us/img841/1833/img2746u.jpg How much would it cost roughly to build a new box like this (s…

I know it may take some time specially being designed in mm (As I live in Aus) but can someone or as many people as possible confirm roughly these figures??? Also, feel free to use this design and enjoy!!! BOX HEIGHT IS 260mm, 224mm are Internal Dimensions as all pieces join to TOP/BOTTOM ------------ --------- Also I designed this for a 8" Rockford Fosgate P2D28 sub w/ a bit of extra port area for sub upgrades that may have up to 13mm in XMAX such as say a DD sub (P2D28 has 9.5mm)

I haven't had much experience with the science behind port tuning/building, but I've been doing a little research and some calculations and have a question concerning port "size". Let's say I have a 1 cu.ft box, and I want to put a aero port in it with a tuning of about 33hz. I used a calculator and I came up with a 2" diameter port with a length of 6.3 inches.. or a 3" port with a length of 15+ inches.. My question is, what's the difference in having the 2" short port as opposed to the 3" long port and achieving the same tuning? To me it would just seem logical to go with the small and short port to save space and material, and just be an overall convenience.. but this i…

I wanna know if I could build a 4th order bandpass box for 4 12" subs in the trunk of my cavalier? I have a Soundstream Rubicon 2500D amp and a Kinetic1200 under the hood and a 2400 in the trunk. Thought about something sort of like this but, not too sure it would work with being such a small trunk...Just need some help tryin to figure out if I should do it or not. http://sketchup.google.com/3dwarehouse/details?mid=5362d8048075cdd16b752e7529d36aed[/media]

Hey, this is what i got: 1x pioneer sub ts-w3002d4 @2ohms=1000rms QCA3500D amp; 2ohm=1750watts rms enclosure: 20"x16"x13" port size: 2"x11.5" everything on my car is stock and i think my amp is putting out a little less than what is rated performance wise, i dont think that my sub is performing like it should, my excursion is nothing compared to what I see on you tube and im not sure if it is because of my enclosure. I know that I can get better power if i upgrade wiring but I think I should be getting more out of what I already have. I want to try a different box, does anyone have any suggestions on sizez and I dont know much about tuning but im not getting high end …

1 18" DC Level 5. Still waiting for some other bits to come in (amp/battery). But in the mean time, we want to go ahead and start on the box. We were thinking of these two options. 1) Sub up/ports up. Have sub in middle, with a port on each side of sub instead of a single port. Does anyone see any negatives to this besides using up more wood/cost more? etc... Basically would like to do it this way because OCD side is taking over, and we would like to keep it symmetrical. 2) Sub up/port back. This would just be sub up, with a single port along the bottom of the back of the enclosure. Pretty straight forward. Basically, just looking for yall's opinions. Which do you t…

they had it locked on to show just the highest db hit, so idk what i made on tones. my sweet spot is somewhere between 40-45hz but i hit 135.7 with my single 12" FI Q w/ BP Option, powered by SAE 1000D my first box, tuned to 31hz playing the opening of Tortilla Chips by T.Bizzy. mic on driver side dash, passenger door half down. in a 2001 Jeep Grand Cherokee. sub and port facing back hatch nothing fancy in here. i know when i bought it i was curious of some numbers, i know it's not made for SPL but i was somewhat impressed with what it did.
