  2. Anyone done a fiberglass build in a mazda 6 sedan? I have this idea of putting my 15" ssd in the center, behind the seats, with two 6" aeroports (one on each side of the sub). This would be firing into the cabin. I have my rear seats down 90% of the time, so I would imagine it would sound great. Anyone done it, or know how? I am looking for someone to take on this project for me, as I have never done it, and wouldnt quite say I have the time to do it either.. Anywho, im in Keller Tx and if anyone is interested I am willing to pay. Im looking to stay in the 3.5-4 cu ft. range, tuned at 33-35 hz. Im rocking a 08 mazda 6 sedan (not the cool hatch model). If you need anymore…

MY buddy drives a 2008 regular cab silverado..... He has a matrix 12' that is a fairly beefy subwoofer..... if im correct his amp is 1000 watt This weekend we plan to build a box like Fi-Ford Console/Enclosure...STEALTH - SSA Car Audio Forum Has built for trucks.... My question is.... WE plan on just doing it sealed to begin with... I think with this small of a truck it will be just fine and loud enough.... If he is no satisfied if we were to use like 1 or 2 tubes of pipe to port it would it in any way mess up the subwoofer or anything... ( could we vary the sound by length of the port in the box what size pipe would be best... ) also... if we do it either…

I am trying to come up with a good design for a ported box for a 18" BTL. Now it is going to be in my trunk but I am going to try to get a full 8 cubic feet. It can be 41" wide, 29 inches deep, and the tallest it can be is 18.5" and that is exactly right size for a 18" BTL. The only problem I have had is that I know it is going to need some kind of bracing and since I have no idea how to go about that I don't know how to calculate in the displacement of the extra bracing, and I don't know how to figuire out how big I will have to make my port to be at about 30hz. If it is under 8 which I'm sure it probably will be I'm fine with that I guess, but I need some help on how to…

That was the 1st box i ever made on that other thread, lol, i dont think i ever tried it out, hmm. but here are the real pics The port looks extra small if you ask me.But its sposed to be 32hz Now i'm not sure if i want to add in this extra piece right here are not, if i do i have to cut it at an angle because the subs depth is more than my ports length Ply wood Did that even look like an 18in hole to u guys, ahh come on now Oh and does this need bracing of coarse

Im designing a new box for the new mag whenever it comes out and im going to stick my current sub in it for now (old 10" circle solo baric). I currently have it all figured out for 1.68 cubic feet. After the sub and port displacement that gives me the recommended 1.5 cubic feet with a 4 inch pvc port that is 19.12 inches long for a tuning of 32hz. Now my problem is that my box isnt long enough (20") for that lenght of port. Could I use 2 2 inch pvc ports each 9.55" to get the same tuning of 32hz? This will be going in my 05 king cab frontier so thats why im kinda limited on space. Also im thinking of putting the sub towards front of vehicle and port up, any advice t…

Ok, where do you guys buy your carpet for your builds? I want some really good carpet that doesnt have a bunch of crap on the back and is easy to use. I will be carpeting parts of my box, trim work and false floor. I've always used 3M 77 glue but I saw where some folks were spraying on that contact cement stuff. There really isnt much difference in the 2 right? I was checking out a lot of Thumper's enclosure builds and that guy did really good work. His forum looks like it hasnt been active in a while. Any idea what he uses? Thanks for any help. TST

Well, I built the box as recommended by Bromo but somewhere when I was taking measurements I messed up. It is currently 35Wx15Hx19D. If I take 1.5-2 in. off the width and extend the depth? Would I still get the sound as before?

Okay. So I've got very limited trunk space. And a small-ish. Budget. I'm hoping for someone to help me with some sort of box design for an FI Q 10, in a ported box. Max dimensions being 30" Wide, 14" High, and 17" Deep. Already have an Amp picked out too that i'm gonna buy from a buddy for good.

Would there be any negative effects from running all-thread though the back of my box directly into the cab of my truck. The back wall of my truck is already threaded and I could strongly secure the box this way. But Im wondering over time will I get leaks or put to much stress on the MDF. I will be using 1in MDF more than likely. I would seal it and also use a 1/2in rubber mat between the box and back wall and floor to help with sound deadening and vibration. I also will be using the back seat metal bracket to mount the floor to, I can also run allthread through box and floor threaded directly to the metal brackets. This will be a semi wall and will probably make beauty …

  21. This may sound like a stupid question, but I have yet to find someone who can give me a good answer to it: How do multiple drivers react when installed in a single undivided sealed enclosure - with regard to (Fb/F3 etc.)? For instance - Say you install 4 12" drivers in a single undivided 4.0 ft3 (Net) enclosure. Do the woofers react as if each driver was installed in it's own 1.0 ft3 box, as if each was installed in it's own 4.0 Ft3 box, or Somewhere in between? If so, is there some easy formula to calculate the volume that each driver "sees" to determine box response characteristics? Thanks, Hans

Hello, first of all please excuse my english, I am from Romania. I just received a fi Q 15 ( no options ) and I am trying to calculate my speaker enclosure. I want to go for sealed enclosure because I don't have much space in the trunk ( BMM e46 sedan ). Recommendations for fi q box is 2-2.6 cu ft. With my calculations I am about 2.5 but I want to be sure I calculate it right before I give the blueprints to the box builder This is my result, I am happy because it fits inside the trunk perfectly. I made a dummy box to see how it will fit inside the car. Wood is 1 inch thick.
