Im getting two Mach5 MAW-15's and I noticed that the qts was .32 I think. So I guess I will put them in a ported enclosure tuned to 32hz. Does that sound okay? How big should the box be for the two of them? around 6ft^3? Thanks ~MadroX

In the process of designing a box for the 15 Loaded BTL. Can I design an "L" slot port box to have a tuning freq of approx 40hz for comps...and then just put 1.5" thich MDF along one side of the port? Since calc's tell me that will bring me down to 32hz. So the port will be approx 6.5 inches wide for a 40hz tune and 5 inches wide for a 32hz. I'm just wondering because only the last 14inches or so will be 5 inches...the other 14ish inches (inside the box) will still be 6.5 inches. Will this screw with tuning...and will this raise or lower my ACTUAL tuning freq?

http://www.woofersetc.com/index.cfm?fuseac...Product_ID=3637 or because the specs of the tc-7 are here http://tcsounds.com/tc7.htm http://www.woofersetc.com/index.cfm?fuseac...Product_ID=4450 this would work for the large ported box under low extension so pretty much the first ported at 1cu a chamber the obcon in the picture at 1.4 a chamber or the large ported for 1.7 a chamber which would give me low extention i waned 12's but they would be to big for my hatch. i listen to rap and have a small 2002 civic si hachback. and i want a quality system, but the thing is that because these are 10's i am afraid they wont get loud enough the power will be from this Hifonics BXi …

  9. My uncle had all the tools to help with the build but then a lady drove into his garage and in the process ran over the main gas line. His whole garage was torched, including the tools and his brand new Honda Pilot. Since the last time I've posted, I haven't had time to build it but a coworker of mine wants to help out with the build so I just wanted to go over some options. TIA My max outside dimensions: W=35" L=8.5" H=15". This is going in an '06 Suby wagon. The sealed box should work fine but I'm wondering if ported could work also. I listen to some rap, but mostly alternative and stuff like Blue October, Silversun Pickups, etc. I think I have the room for ported…

Hey, i currently have my box in about 1.6 cubes to low 30's, and Mike told me that 2cubes net at 34 would give me more output. I want to make sure i won't lose SQ, but i might give this a try. Will i gain much output with this change? Will i still have excellent SQ? I searched a ton on here and caraudio.com and read up on ports, square inches of port area, etc, and i used various calculators. I used the calc on maximacar.com, which is the best i have seen. The box dimensions are: 24x14.5x15 with a 4 inch by 11" port. The calculator takes into account woofer displacement and displacement of the port, and it comes out to 2.29gross, and 2.06 net. With the box being 1…

I recently took my two 12's and put them in a prefab box built to hold two subs. Its a camaro box so it's wierd. I put them in that box because I had two single boxes for the subs and one was leaking real bad. Anyway, MY question is, how come they hit harder in the two single boxes than they do in the dual box? I think it might be because the box is too big. So is there anyway I can fix that? I seen a box another person had and he had it stuffed somewhat with newspaper? Would that help the subs hit harder in the dual box? Thanks ~MadroX

So I am thinking of venturing into unknown territory and build my first ported box. I have been doing a little research but am still learning. As I understand it, frequencies below the tuning of the box can cause the driver to "unload" which can cause damage. I am not 100% sure what that means, but I digress. I have read more than a few threads that say they tuned their box to 32 Hz and then go on to say that the low-end is amazing. Now I listen to mostly rap music, and it seems like to me that there are a lot of songs with frequencies below 32 Hz. There are a couple low notes in Jeezy's "Hypnotize" for example that I am guessing dip below 32 Hz. How is it that the box ca…

I have a friend that wants a box built for a 8" sub. I have some 1/2" MDF that I could make it out of. The box will be sealed and not have a lot of flat surface (maybe even some glassing involved to make it fit). Would this be a good idea? I'm not sure about the thickness of the MDF. The sub will only be seeing about 200rms or so.

Has anyone ever built, seen, or heard a deathbox enclosure? I would like to build one myself but have only heard about deathbox and I never found the build plans. I would like to test the enclosure with a 10" mtx woofer and see what the enclosure is capable of. I stuffed the mtx in a sealed enclosure and it produces tight bass but nothing fantastic about it at 300watts. So if anyone knows where I can find the build info for the deathbox, I'd really appreciate it! Or let me know if you have ever heard one in person!
