My car is a dodge charger,my system will consist of 2 12"subwoofers maybe "maybe 15 inch woofers if they fit.my two extra batteries can go in my spare tire area and my amp can be mounted on back of my seat.my woofers will be running off a saz3500,my question is will my setup get way luder if my box ports through the rear deck?or shold i do a box toward the rear of my car with the ports on the side?i dont mind doing a port in my rear deck if its gonna get alot louder that way..

  2. Just got about everything I need to start the build, so I am starting to design the enclosure. Did some searching on the site and haven't really found the answer to a couple of my questions, so I will post them up here. First the box is going to be for 4 RE SE12's powered by 2 SAZ-1500D's strapped. I have the 1/0 for power and runs, and am picking up 2 new batts for the back tomorrow. This all going in the Suburban. Box size ideally is going to be 8cu.ft. with around 128-157cu.in. for port. Will see if I can fit aero's if not I'll do a slot port and this is for daily. I have built and tried 3 different boxes so far. All peaked between 40-45hz, one box being 2 1…

To figure how much air a specific subwoofer should need using the information like, (VCdia: 1-1/4" *Impedance: 4 ohms *Re: 3.6 ohms *Frequency range: 45-1,500 Hz *Fs: 45 Hz *SPL: 82 dB 2.83V/1m *Vas: .24 cu.ft. *Qms: 2.68 *Qes: .61 *Qts: .49 *Xmax 9.25mm) and does any one know a good thing or two about designing t lines.

If you had an enclosure for 2 12" subs with 2.2 cubes ea, with individual airspaces could u build a common port to split between the 2? or if you had a common port area would the enclosure have to have a common airspace for the subs as well?

  7. I made up a few pages for port tuning, that account for port displacement, as I haven't seen anything online that offered it. Slot Port: http://portsgalore.stefanhinote.com/?do=portlength Aero Ports: http://portsgalore.stefanhinote.com/?do=portaerolength It uses the port length equation from the loudspeaker cookbook. Input: volume, port dimensions, tuning. It figures out the port length, and port volume (port length * port area). Subtracts port volume from original volume = net volume. With the found port length and net volume, it figures out the real tuning. From there it has something to start with, and starts adjusting the original tuning frequency until the net tuning…

  9. Come summer/next fall id like to hit a few competitions and then head to daytona even next spring break. Because ill be finished with online classes and im officially done with soccer. the onlything preoccupieing my time will be work and cross country. As for ocmpeating, im doing competition on a budget. Id like to run my BX1205D it even less for power and run maybe a pair of 12's. Im thinking a pair of 187 12's in a 4th order bandpass. Ive always wanted to build "The Wicked One" to see how it performed. The 187's seem like a good canidate. Reletively high efficency, good Xmax, and reletively low inductance. For Competition i would build one with a wider throat for high…

I was wondering if you could send me the exact dimensions, that would be the best for the 12" BTL that I just bought from you tuned to 32HZ? The biggest size box that fits in the trunk of my Chrysler 300 is 32"wide by 35"long by 15"tall, that is the biggest size box that we can fit in there. If you could help me out that would be great.

Hi there wonder what's yr opinion about such setup: 2 x 8" by AudioPulse (Epic D2) questions: 1. go sealed or ported? 2. how big should be the box to achieve lower frequency response (~32hz)? 3. will this setup be enough efficient to shake my car or it's better to go with 2x10" ? thx

Where I work we have this non-flexible polymer composite called synthane and it comes in 4X8X3/4 sheets. Now I was wondering if this woould work for a box? I mean in theory it should, its dense and non flexible. I was just wondering if anyone has ever head of this material. I highly doubt its ever been used as in a box, I would imagine its very expensive.

So I've been reading a ton about aeroports and I've heard they reduce port noise and take up less space therefor reducing box size. I want to do two SA10's in 3 cubic feet tuned to 33 hz. I've been trying to use all sorts of different calculators and such trying to figure out port sizes and what not but its not coming together for me. Basically I want to know how you figure out port length and diameter as well as port displacement in the box. Also where is a good place to get these ports from. I'm going for a really nice sounding setup that can get loud if I wanna show off a tad . Any info I didn't include just ask and I'll do my best to fill in the gaps. Thanks BumpinAl…

Time for a new box and im gonna need alittle help. Not really good at box design so thats where yall come in handy. I have two of the new 15" BTLs and i know the box from my x-cons are holding me back at this point. Im figuring i wanna go with 8-9cuft tuned to 34 or 35hz. Port area is whatever it needs to be for a good mix of daily and spl. Im assuming 100-125 for port area will do the trick. Needless to say if you can design me a box and the cut sheets id much appreciate it.

  24. Alrighty, so I've got a few question. I'm building a ported box in my G35 Coupe and I'm using a round port instead of a slotted port. I'm planning on using these ports. I've been using this calculator to do it. Right now I've got a 2.0 cuft box, I plan on using 2 ports, and I'm tuning it to 29hz. After clicking calculate, it gives me the vent length of 9.13 inches. Does this mean I'll cut both of the cylinders to that length? Or where exactly does that measurement start and end? Also, any tips on doing a flared port box? Slotted was easy, but I wasn't sure if this is any more complicated. Also, what panel of the box should I have the ports for the best results? If it matt…

I currently have 2 15 fi Q's and want to put them into a fiberglass enclosure. I will frame the back, bottom, and both sides out of MDF, but i am wanting the top and front of the enclosure to be fiberglass. What is the recommended thickness or number of layers of mat or cloth that i should apply for 2 Q 15's. Amp using the AQ 2200D amp if that helps. Thanks
