Is windows 7 or 8 better? I have never used Windows 8.1

Ok, well...I just figured I'd let you all know that I have picked up another radio broadcast on wednesday nights. tune in anywhere in the world by going to http://www.dnbradio.com between the hours of 8-10 pm est.

So I am going to be getting a new computer, the most important thing is that it can run old school runescape well. I also want to spend as little money as possible. Any suggestions on a cheap laptop that will have no problems running osrs? Or do I need to go with a desktop?

i downloaded it and it wouldn't let me connect to the net. It kept sayin i had a loss of conectivity. And when i clicked on the repair button it wouldn't work and it said contact my network advisor. ?????

Alright I'm starting a topic here because there is a lot of discussion in the H0P and I wanted to keep it all straight My Dad wants a new desktop. Our current one has a Pentium 4 1.5Ghz, 512mb of RAM, 127gb HD (replaced after it crashed), DVD-RW (recently purchased) and a CD-RW all housed in a Dell Inspiron 4300 case. We have a mouse, keyboard, new flatscreen monitor and speakers that can all be carried over to the new comp. The reason he wants a new computer is because this one is getting ridiculously slow. I honestly don't understand considering we do the same thing on it for years (and recently had it reformatted when the HD crashed), but I guess parts just get old? …

I'm in search of some capacitors and after exhausting local stores I need to turn to the internet to find what I need. I would like to know where is a reputable place to get components at?? I have found a couple places that have what I need and dont have a minimum order amount. Has anybody dealt with http://digikey.com/ or http://www.mouser.com/ ?? Any info would be greatly appreciated.

i bought a new used computer today .. its a emachine i know i know.. but i got it cheap. so i brought it home hooked it up.. and was able to surf the net. but it had 7 users on it and full of trash, so i clicked around untill i found away to "goback" and it took off all the user and made it almost a new PC. but. now i cant get on the internet. i called my ISP and they told me its my eithernet card, but it was working fine an hour ago, so maybe some help on setting and what not? and im used to XP. and vista is blowing my mind.. anyone know how to reboot vista to a fresh copy, "system restore "? thanks guys.

Looking for a decent laptop for under $650 ($500 or less would be ideal) and I'm laptop dumb. I don't do any gaming. I don't download movies/music or do any video editing. Just needs to be used for basic uses......Microsoft Office, internet (I'm going to purchase a wireless router aswell), and eventually I want to get the software and hardware for a MLS measurement system. So processor, RAM and HDD don't need to be industry leading, but I also don't want something that will overly limit future uses. Excellent freaking game! All the lovelies of the Gran Turismos series, but with a very difficult gameplay. It's nice a challenging, but fun at the same time! If you like bikes and Gran Turismo, I suggest picking this game up. Beware though, you cannot use any techniques used in the GT series. The bikes are a total different monster and handle nothing like cars. It's amazing how they can convey this through a video game.

I have been wanting to buy a new desktop for a while now. I am not a gamer. Other than internet browsing I use numerous photo editing software packages including CS5. 1TB of internal memory is a must. I already have a monitor that I am happy with. I would like to stay under $500. I have been looking at these two. I'm using Mozilla Firefox. And it's only on this forum...any other webpage or forum and it works perfectly. But on this forum, anybody with large avatars and sigs (like mrray or Eldorado) causes the page to scroll very slowly (actually freezes up the browser for a few seconds) and the loading is very slow aswell. Any fix to this? Any settings I need to change in Firefox? Any other firefox users experiencing the same thing?

well the other day i ran a virus scan and i had a crap load of trojans on my comp...got all them fixed....then i d/led a good spyware program cause i had this message on my computer saying windows detected spyware and recomended i d/l something for it....so i did....well today i woke up to a picture on my desktop saying something along the lines of the little pop up i was getting about the spyware yesterday and am unable to change the pic on my desktop also im unable to use the ctrl alt del function...says its been disabled by the admin....however i am the admin of the computer...... im running win xp so u know.....thinking of restoring to a point a few days back....think…

OK, recently, somehow, I got links on my desk top that I did not put there. (some travel, poker, printer crrtridge, bingo, casino, web hosting...) I can not move these icons. When I right click on them I don't get a option menu either so I can't delete then that way. Now I have noticed that when I sit down at my computer all my desk top icons are rearranged. Can someone explain what's going on? I run Norton weekly, I am fire walled and use 2 different pop-up blockers. I have no idea how this happened. Nothing new in my start menu and also nothing new in my add/remove programs file. Help!!!! I'm going crazy!!!!

ok, a few months ago we got DSL and i was expecting some problems with adware and such. well a few days ago i began noticing that some internet links were not working. it does it on all websites, sometimes you can right click and click open in new window and that will work. other times the new window will pop up and in the address bar is the site address and at the beginning it says javascript and some parentheses and some apostophes (sp.?) and all you have to do is backspace all the stuff that looks like it doesnt belong in the address and hit enter and the site will come up. none of the "java" sites work, like if there is animation or whatever on the site, then the link…

Got two computers. They're pretty close spec wise. Have an optical mouse / whatever the hell they're called ... without the ball. Both computers have the same Logitech mouse. Turn off both computers. Mouse on the computer on the right stays on (the 'idle' glow), one on the left turns off. Been like this forever, just wondering if I can change it so the retarded one turns off when the computer is off. Probably in the settings somewhere, I don't know - I'm computer retarded.

Does anyone have an Alien Ware computer or know someone who has one? I'm thinking about getting one, but I was wondering what everyones take on Alien Ware is. Okay im looking to get a HDTV for my room and i kinda want a cheap one because im tight on cash and i have other stuff i want to buy. Anyways how does this one look? TV Don't know too much about TV's but this one will fit where i want to mount it on my wall and its around what i want to spend.
