I'm looking for some test tracks from all genres. I have plenty of hip hop, electronic, and a few metal tracks, but I'm open to all suggestions. Most of the old school ssa folks know me pretty well and I've been working on a project for while now called Alchemy Computers. Yesterday my girlfriend was doing homework on my computer and was trying to open Microsoft Word when the computer froze. She said it was making "thinking noises" but grew impatient and did a hard turn-off. Then when she turned it back on it said "Operating system not found" and wouldn't load. I've never had problems with it before other than an occassional blue screen if I leave the computer on too long because it seems that it doesn't like my wireless adapter sometimes. I just unplug it and it reloads fine. It's a Dell Inspiron 2600 laptop that's almost 7 years old now. I get home after work, oblivious to the problem, and turn it on. Alright I'm starting a topic here because there is a lot of discussion in the H0P and I wanted to keep it all straight My Dad wants a new desktop. Our current one has a Pentium 4 1.5Ghz, 512mb of RAM, 127gb HD (replaced after it crashed), DVD-RW (recently purchased) and a CD-RW all housed in a Dell Inspiron 4300 case. We have a mouse, keyboard, new flatscreen monitor and speakers that can all be carried over to the new comp. The reason he wants a new computer is because this one is getting ridiculously slow. I honestly don't understand considering we do the same thing on it for years (and recently had it reformatted when the HD crashed), but I guess parts just get old? …

so i have a few lap tops and a few desk tops that use, one in my rig 2 at my house and 4 at my office, im looking for a reliabe cheap external hard drive, i have never used one, and never owned one, so i have little clue on what im looking for when buying, i have been shopping on ebay, if anyone can shed some light on a brand or anything it would be most helpful. thanks!

i picked up an older dell, desk top.. and much to my dismay i have 2 problems that are beating me. 1 my video driver is not working? im stuck in 16 bit and 640x480 or some crap. 2 my onboard sound card is not working? no sound.. no adjustment, when i go to my driver it wont even let me select anything. dell demention 2400 ep 1st editon i think... i have done as many updates and windows will allow. any help would be great! thanks guys!

I have been wanting to buy a new desktop for a while now. I am not a gamer. Other than internet browsing I use numerous photo editing software packages including CS5. 1TB of internal memory is a must. I already have a monitor that I am happy with. I would like to stay under $500. I have been looking at these two. OK, recently, somehow, I got links on my desk top that I did not put there. (some travel, poker, printer crrtridge, bingo, casino, web hosting...) I can not move these icons. When I right click on them I don't get a option menu either so I can't delete then that way. Now I have noticed that when I sit down at my computer all my desk top icons are rearranged. Can someone explain what's going on? I run Norton weekly, I am fire walled and use 2 different pop-up blockers. I have no idea how this happened. Nothing new in my start menu and also nothing new in my add/remove programs file. Help!!!! I'm going crazy!!!!

i downloaded it and it wouldn't let me connect to the net. It kept sayin i had a loss of conectivity. And when i clicked on the repair button it wouldn't work and it said contact my network advisor. ?????

Excellent freaking game! All the lovelies of the Gran Turismos series, but with a very difficult gameplay. It's nice a challenging, but fun at the same time! If you like bikes and Gran Turismo, I suggest picking this game up. Beware though, you cannot use any techniques used in the GT series. The bikes are a total different monster and handle nothing like cars. It's amazing how they can convey this through a video game.

well the other day i ran a virus scan and i had a crap load of trojans on my comp...got all them fixed....then i d/led a good spyware program cause i had this message on my computer saying windows detected spyware and recomended i d/l something for it....so i did....well today i woke up to a picture on my desktop saying something along the lines of the little pop up i was getting about the spyware yesterday and am unable to change the pic on my desktop also im unable to use the ctrl alt del function...says its been disabled by the admin....however i am the admin of the computer...... im running win xp so u know.....thinking of restoring to a point a few days back....think…

I'm using Mozilla Firefox. And it's only on this forum...any other webpage or forum and it works perfectly. But on this forum, anybody with large avatars and sigs (like mrray or Eldorado) causes the page to scroll very slowly (actually freezes up the browser for a few seconds) and the loading is very slow aswell. Any fix to this? Any settings I need to change in Firefox? Any other firefox users experiencing the same thing?

Does anyone have an Alien Ware computer or know someone who has one? I'm thinking about getting one, but I was wondering what everyones take on Alien Ware is. I've heard if you want a gaming computer this is the way to go. What is everyones thought on this? I'll post the computer im looking at soon.... Laptop took a shit on me today so I was wondering with all the new technology today between nooks, notebooks/notepads, tablets and such what sort of device would allow me to exchange emails, create and save word documents, and apply for jobs online? No music or movie downloads, I don't need to be able to do multiple things at one time just some light core internet browsing, maybe some reading/research at most. I also don't need super high speed browsing abilities or lots of storage capacity, just looking for a replacement for basic every day needs.

Got two computers. They're pretty close spec wise. Have an optical mouse / whatever the hell they're called ... without the ball. Both computers have the same Logitech mouse. Turn off both computers. Mouse on the computer on the right stays on (the 'idle' glow), one on the left turns off. Been like this forever, just wondering if I can change it so the retarded one turns off when the computer is off. Probably in the settings somewhere, I don't know - I'm computer retarded.
