Okay, as you all kind of maybe, but probably done know, I have a Mercedes 1991 190E 2.3 trim car. As its a mercedes the engine would kill to upgrade. So thats where the VIP syling comes in. What should I do? Images Gallery with PicTiger Yes, there is some problems with the car, like the replaced light casing, and the bumper. Other then then, pretty straight car (meaning no dents). And I know with VIP style that oversized rims, like DUBs are often put on. And I dont think ill keep the car long enough to justify the body kit. Although, suspension isnt a big problem. So Ill probably do that. Rims are EXPENSIVE!!, although I might do it, just because if I sell the ca…

My project for July...if it ever stops f'ing raining...is to repair the rust that's forming on the van's drip rail and at least put a coat of primer on it to prevent it from getting worse. I'm thinking I need to do the following - * Using masking tape/dropcloths, cover all the painted areas I don't want anything to get on. *Sand down the rusted/bubbled portions with heavy grit sandpaper * Spread some naval jelly on the rusted sections, on both sides of the rain gutter...sand this lightly off when dry down to bare metal. * Prime * Color coat Any tricks or things I'm forgetting? Like I said, I'm a finish/bodywork n00b...don't need this to look showroom quality, but rust on…

The stately Mercedes CLS-Class quasi coupe is one of the German prestige marque's nicest looking vehicles, with a subtle style that seems to emanate style and exclusivity. But that doesn't mean that it can't be transformed into a ballsy, take-no-prisoners GTR replica, courtesy of one of Germany's growing tuning outfits, ART. Based in Nuremburg, ART's new GTR is built upon the CLS model, either the CLS 55 AMG or the CLS 63 AMG, both of which are vehicles that would be more than powerful and agile enough for most drivers. For example, in its original form, the 5.4-litre supercharged CLS 55 AMG generates 350kW of power (469hp) @ 6100rpm and 700Nm of torque @ 2650rpm, which …

After comming back from the bahmas i hadnt driven the thing in 11 days. So i hop in my truck put 'er in neutral, crank and wow i was amazed. When you listen to 'er crank up day after day you dont notice the sound as much as after 11 days. She started off with a nice 'Burrrrr!!!" and then settled down to a cool 800RPM deep pur of a 3.0l V6 lion. Sounds so good, As i took off down Price Creek (road in the middle of nowhere with no cops and lots of hills/sweeping twists) i ran through the first 4 gears untill the fule cut at 95 wit joy in every shift when it dropped from 4500 RPM down to 3-3500 rpm where it sounds the best (as it gets just above 4,000 the tone gets raspy…

the beginning....86 fiero that i'm trying to fix up, just finished the headliner today. Process...remove the whole interior, because i'm going to fix anything that needs it, headliner came out and made the voyage to bburg with me. I started by removing the old headliner and the staples that someone else had used. I then brushed a ton of resin on the backside of the liner (not the front where the fabric goes so i could avoid messing up the contours). This strengthened the old thing a LOT and i ended up using about 1/2 of a (quart?) of resin. Then i layed two layers of fiberglass mat over the spots where the visors hold the headliner up since they had pulled away fro…

Advantages of front wheel drive * Interior space: Since the powertrain is a single unit contained in the engine compartment of the vehicle, there is no need to devote interior space for a driveshaft tunnel or rear differential, increasing the volume available for passengers and cargo. * Cost: Fewer components overall * Weight: Fewer components mean lower weight * Fuel economy: Lower weight means better gasoline mileage * Improved drivetrain efficiency: the direct connection between engine and transaxle reduce the mass and mechanical inertia of the drivetrain compared to a rear-wheel drive vehicle with a similar engine and transmission, allowing greater fuel economy. * Ass…

So jim cursed me, misread one of the off-topic posts and thought something was wrong with my car, and now there is. first...the car.... 98 dodge stratus 2.4l auto 130k miles (for our canadian brethren) the problem, i get in the car, crank it up, and something is vibrating in the engine, almost like a rod knock, but its not as...metallic, and it vibrates the whole vehicle, since you all are audio people you'll know what i mean, its like right at the resonance freq of the plastic inside the car or something. When does it do it? here is the strange part, i noticed it while parked, eliminating a good number of things, like wheel bearing (you'll understand later) and …

Well, I got in a car accident today; it wasn't completely wrecked though. I got real lucky. There was a dead taxi in the middle of the interstate in a turn. I hit the brakes hard, swerved out of the way and got straight out rear-ended by an accord. Bumper now hangs off the bolts and a tiny dent from a nick on the taxi. I'll post some pix up if anyone's interested. Luckily , no one was seriously injured but i don't know who the insurance company will put at fault.

I checked all the pressure in the tires of the 3 vehicles that are at my house Not a single one was at the right PSI. Some 20lbs over, some 10lbs under. Its crazy how much air you can loose in your tires in a matter of months. And if you just fill them up when they are low use a pressure gauge, eyeballing and using the built in gauge from the has station are not accurate. Go buy one, they arent that expensive I know it sounds lame but if kept neglected ( like what i did) you can really kill your mileage and get some nice uneven tire wear.
