Currently have a jeep but rarely go four wheeling anymore... My 2door jeep is small, and my substage takes up the whole rear area. So basically any car except a coupe would be an upgrade as far as room and cargo area. I don't really want a trunk car, main reason being it's harder to fit a enclosure in, and have to deal with getting bass into the cabin. My budget is $7000, possibly 8. Looking for 2000 and up. Current vehicles I've been looking at are: Scion xB and Scion tC, and Volvo v70. So basically something with a hatch, room in the rear to fit a nice big sub enclosure (pair of 15s or what not). anyone got any other cars I should look into? thanks EDIT: no honda civics…

  5. Anybody know how much weight a door on a 2door car can handle before it would start to stress or sag over time? I may plan on doin a lot of liquid deadening to it for competition and that alone will add some weight to it.... Then later on down the rode i may decide to remove the factory door panel and replace with a full custom mold with a couple speakers in it... If what i want to do in the long run should put too much weight on the door, what would i need and where should i look at online for it?

  6. Picked up one of those little cheap $7 actuators in hopes to fix my driver side door since the motor went out in it and a replacement costs $260.. i dont think so, So.. i go to cut the jacket off the mechanical cable for the lock and guess what... It's PROTECTED by steel rope.. Ugh... So, how can i get through the steel rope without breaking the itty bitty mechanical cable inside? lol

  7. I was reading a thread on fullsizechevys.com about these things. NOTHING but great reviews. Everyone seems to love them and with the cheap $40 price tag you cant go wrong. I will probably buy a pair since the burb bounces around like crazy. They arent just for GM's, they will fit any leafspring vehicle as far as i know of. http://store.summitracing.com/default.asp?...h.asp&x=28&y=11

  8. Limited by your own imagination, i'm trying to find some unique things i can do with this new remote.. I have 3 channels left. One unique thing i have thought about is being able to open garage door with it... But since Viper no longer makes a compatible kit for their newer alarms, no such device exists as far as i know.. Anyone have an idea on this or something else that is possible and unique?

Okay, as you all kind of maybe, but probably done know, I have a Mercedes 1991 190E 2.3 trim car. As its a mercedes the engine would kill to upgrade. So thats where the VIP syling comes in. What should I do? Images Gallery with PicTiger Yes, there is some problems with the car, like the replaced light casing, and the bumper. Other then then, pretty straight car (meaning no dents). And I know with VIP style that oversized rims, like DUBs are often put on. And I dont think ill keep the car long enough to justify the body kit. Although, suspension isnt a big problem. So Ill probably do that. Rims are EXPENSIVE!!, although I might do it, just because if I sell the ca…

Hey guys, I don't really get into car forums much, so I figured i'd post in here and see if you could figure something out or gimme a starting point! I'm having some "road noise" issues if you'd call them that. I'll give you the breakdown: CAR: 1995 Honda Accord EX Sedan PROBLEM: Around 2500 RPM's, I can "feel" the engine beneath my seat(the drivers) and its sort of like a buzzing/vibrating noise or feeling. Its like the engine accelerates smooth, but then as as soon as it hits that spot(2500 RPM), it feels really rough, then gets back to smooth at like 2800 RPM maybe, around there. I…

Well, I got in a car accident today; it wasn't completely wrecked though. I got real lucky. There was a dead taxi in the middle of the interstate in a turn. I hit the brakes hard, swerved out of the way and got straight out rear-ended by an accord. Bumper now hangs off the bolts and a tiny dent from a nick on the taxi. I'll post some pix up if anyone's interested. Luckily , no one was seriously injured but i don't know who the insurance company will put at fault.

I'm not a motorcycle aficionado by any stretch of the imagination, but I saw this parked the other day and it blew me away. Sorry for the crappy image, but I snapped it with my phone while I was driving by. I've asked some of my friends, one suggested it might be a Hayabusa, but I can't find any that resemble this. Anyone know what bike this is?

I'm sick of looking for a nice Mark VIII, so I have a few ideas but I can't lean in either direction. I love the G-body GMs, but I'm a huge Ford guy so I've always wanted an 85-87 Regal or 87-88 Cutlass and drop a twin turbo small block Ford in it. You can guarantee it's never been done, and well, I just want to do it. Also been digging the 96-97 T-birds lately, and I'm very familiar with them and their powertrain. Building the 4.6 is relatively simple and cheap, so it would be easy and unsuspecting. . . Or should I just wait until I find a nice Mark VIII that I swear I don't do anything to other than wheels, tires, and big brakes, but I know damn well I am going to g…

so among the many things that can and will go wrong(i.e. wife and son in hospital sick, daughter with my maw maw sick, a damn hurricane) , my car is crapping out. the mechanic diagnosed it with a bad throttle body. 900 from dealer, 730 on internet, and a whopping $24 from a junkyard...if i can find one; no luck so far. the part that troubles me is that in additon to this problem, the mechanic tells me he concerend about my engine. i have 93,000 miles and he said the engine is wearing out as if has double or triple that. i bought the car in September of 05 as a demo with 27,000 on it. i can attest that in the last seven years, the car has been regularly maintained and serv…

Well, it seems it's always something when it comes to my exotic builds.. Now, all 3 companies who manufactured shocks for the newer Gen Scion xB have all been pulled and discontinued without reason! Talking with a performance retailer, Tokico has went as as far as discontinuing all shocks for all scion vehicles as of 2014 without reason. I don't know what's going on but something is up.. So, I need a source, sources that I can contact about custom shocks. I need it as a backup. I do not know if the current stock shocks are equipped to handle the new coil springs and won't know for some time until installed. I do not know stock spring rate but current spring …

This past Sunday I had to remove a couple audio wires in my car that ran from my dash to trunk. I removed the driver's seat so I could lift up the carpet at the driver's feet. When I lifted up the carpet the foam padding under it was completely soaked, dripping wet. My power wires are ran under the body through the frame rails. I never drilled any holes in the firewall or floor. -The soaked area was at the driver's feet and up near the pedals. I did not check the passenger side. -The drain tube for the a/c does not appear to be clogged. -It has rained heavily within the past week -I have used my a/c within the past week. -My blower fan does not sound like it is sloshing …
