Hey guys. I have a project truck that won't go into park. I have a 1995 Ford F150 Flareside XLT 5.0L It's 2 wheel drive. I'm having a problem with it going into park, it doesn't go into park. When I shift gears to park, it's in reverse, and I can't go any further. I have to keep it on neutral or reverse and have the parking brake on whenever I park the car. What could be the problem? Something with steering column? Tranny? Must I go under the truck and look at some things? Any help from you guys would be appreciated. Especially you automotive guys. Thanks in advance.

I am going to be doing springs on both cars, probably ordered them today for a combo discount. (No, not doing coil overs at this time as I do not track either car, or drive either hard enough to get that aggressive with the suspension.) So, over the years for my personal cars, I have only used Eibach and H&R. But now going full into the Japanese side of the auto word, (taking a German breather) there is a whole new world of aftermarket brands I don't have as much hands on driving or owning experience. In this case, price is not a deciding factor, as all four options are with in $20 of each other. Also, ride height differences are with-in 0.4" total of each other,…

The reason I need it my parents moved to Florida so I no longer have a way of getting home from the airport when I fly home since my base is about 3 hours from home. Any suggestions of companies that are reputable and fairly priced? My car is a 2011 mustang if that helps any Thanks guys! Ps military discounts are welcomed :peepwall:

What have you used, what did you like about them, what didn't you like about them, how much were they, where did you buy them, all that stuff. Road I'm going to be using is going to have a ton of snow and is constantly foggy both morning and night (it's right near the river). You know me, I'll sacrifice a bit of performance for price. I'm not going to shell out big bucks for something that's just going to get smashed by rocks anyway. And I flat out don't give a fudge if "your buddy" has such and such of fog light and he thinks they are the best thing in the world but you think they suck and are for ricers. Don't even bother commenting. It's a different story when you'r…

The price on these have finally fallen into the "affordable" category for us, so we bought one against our better judgment. But man is this car awesome! 306hp, and shifts like it's on drugs.

i had a hornet security system installed in my car, baught and installed at circuit city... its been in almost a year now. last weekend my car sat for 2 days while i was visiting my gf. alarm was armed, no light were left on. battery was deadafter 2 days. i thought it was the cold so i took it to walmart, they tested everything and said it could be going bad or something is draining from the battery. my dad bought a new battery and all was fine. like i said i thought it was the cold weather giving it a hard time. so anyways last night i accidentally armed the alarm (not knowing if it was the draining the battery or if previous battery was just dying on its own) and my bat…

New coils with a small spacer up front on Bilstien 5100 shocks. Add a Leaf in the rear, again with 5100's. Added a new Tom Woods one piece drive shaft. Supposed to be 3 inches taller at the suspension, but it is taller than that all around. Overall ride is better than stock. Woot!

http://www.autoblog.com/2008/10/01/pariss-...icially-reveal/ "Lamborghini has spent the last few weeks tantalizing us with teasers of its front-engine, four-door concept, but that comes to an early end today as a French website has unceremoniously revealed the concept we've been calling the Estoque. Though the images in our gallery are low-res, we can still make everything out. The Estoque features a long hood and short rear deck, with horizontal headlights up front and a pair of big Reventon-style air intakes in the front bumper. The fender vents behind the front wheels are tucked into the car's character line that flows back until it hits those wide rear haunches. Thank…

This past Sunday I had to remove a couple audio wires in my car that ran from my dash to trunk. I removed the driver's seat so I could lift up the carpet at the driver's feet. When I lifted up the carpet the foam padding under it was completely soaked, dripping wet. My power wires are ran under the body through the frame rails. I never drilled any holes in the firewall or floor. -The soaked area was at the driver's feet and up near the pedals. I did not check the passenger side. -The drain tube for the a/c does not appear to be clogged. -It has rained heavily within the past week -I have used my a/c within the past week. -My blower fan does not sound like it is sloshing …

It's about time to replace my front pads on the Jeep and looks like I will need to replace my disks also. There's a company called Vanco which makes a big brake kit. 12" rotor vs 11" rotor stock and Explorer Sport-Trac calipers. I've looked around and it seems like I can use the Sport-trac rotor. Sport-trac calipers come in 2 different sizes, one has 2 48mm pistons, the other has 2 46mm pistons. Stock Jeep caliper has 1 66mm piston. Comparing the surface, 2 48mm pistons have more surface while the 2 46mm have a smaller surface. I can source the smaller Explorer caliper locally for a good price and then it would cost me disks + pads. Is the smaller caliper piston surface (…

How much would it cost for a good tint job for this car (everything but the windshield): Also, what percentages would you go with? I'm figuring 10-15% on the rear/rear sides, something not too dark for nighttime vision. Would like to hear your personal preference though. Is this website accurate as far as laws go? If so, does that mean I can only do 70% on the front sides but up to 0% on the rear/rear sides? http://www.tintdude.com/laws.html Lastly, any tint places yall would recommend? Sorry about all the questions, I'm a total tint noob.

So jim cursed me, misread one of the off-topic posts and thought something was wrong with my car, and now there is. first...the car.... 98 dodge stratus 2.4l auto 130k miles (for our canadian brethren) the problem, i get in the car, crank it up, and something is vibrating in the engine, almost like a rod knock, but its not as...metallic, and it vibrates the whole vehicle, since you all are audio people you'll know what i mean, its like right at the resonance freq of the plastic inside the car or something. When does it do it? here is the strange part, i noticed it while parked, eliminating a good number of things, like wheel bearing (you'll understand later) and …

Well, I got in a car accident today; it wasn't completely wrecked though. I got real lucky. There was a dead taxi in the middle of the interstate in a turn. I hit the brakes hard, swerved out of the way and got straight out rear-ended by an accord. Bumper now hangs off the bolts and a tiny dent from a nick on the taxi. I'll post some pix up if anyone's interested. Luckily , no one was seriously injured but i don't know who the insurance company will put at fault.

After I get the credit card bill for all my audio equipment payed off, I think I'm going to get a loan on a small Japanese car. Budget will be around 10k, I'd like to get something '02 or newer with less than 70k miles. I really like this Accord, it seems like a pretty good deal, and I like the 2-doors. My friend has a newer (I think its an '05) Maxima and I like it pretty good too. I'd like to get a manual transmission, but they seem to be fairly rare. I've always wanted a WRX, but I'm thinking that would be out of my price range. I guess Toyotas are out due to the whole unintended acceleration mess. I've always heard good things about Toyotas, but have lost a lot of f…

tire size is 205-45 r17, at least h speed rated. looking for all season, prefer treadwear over performance, though performance can't be mushy. run flats aren't needed and budget is about $400 at this time. i have a hook up for most brands, so budget doesn't need to be spot on. current tires considering are.. falken ze912 kumho ecsta ast yokomaha prada spec 2 and in that order as well. yay or nay? what would you buy and why? thanks folks! wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee

If their is, what is the bolt pattern difference between a 1997 GMC Truck bolt pattern and a 1996 Dodge Ram bolt pattern. A friend of mine has some 20"s on his 1997 GMC and he bought 22" and is going to give me the 20"s and I'm wondering if they will fit or not?

Ok so I've been looking for a new vehicle lately and I came across an interesting find. 97 Nissan Hardbody Pickup Truck. 2 wheel drive, 4cyl 5 spd. Single cab. It's a one owner truck, looks and runs great. Seller is local (15 min from my house). They're asking $2900 which is too high but negotiable (I'm thinking $2000 tops). Only problem I have with the truck is the mileage, 200k I really want to make something nice out of it. Rims, lower/bags, possibly blowthrough Wanted to know your honest opinion. All the research I've done leads me to believe the truck is extremely reliable and cheap to fix. What do YOU think?

This weekend, I blew the head gasket in my 96 Volvo 850 GLT.. in a rather NASCAR-style way. I was cruising 45mph and suddenly smoke everywhere, completely filled the cabin of the car with windows down, and I could barely see the car behind me. I'm pretty sure it's the head gasket, sounds fine running it, but just tons of smoke pours out the exhaust. Anyway, I'm looking for a newer used car (2006'ish), somewhat sporty (~200hp+), preferably a manual (doesn't have to, but preferably). I have no clue what my credit is, however I recently paid off my credit cards to $0 (from about $5k total) and only had a couple monthly required payments, so my credit *should* be pretty g…

Just had to get back in a old truck. Traded my 60 Biscayne for this well done 71 C10. It's a mild 355cu and a TH400 trans. All new interior, paint is only a couple years old. I was alittle unsure of the wheels but after having it a couple days and the reaction this truck gets I think I will just lower it more and leave it alone. I really like this 70's muscle look. Out with the old In with the new Needs some sounds although the cam sounds killer in this truck. Looks like a head unit, 4 channel and components are in order.
