The car is a 1999 ford contour. I've changed almost the entire front end suspension(outer tie rod ends, sway bars, sway linkages, replaced the strut and springs) and now I think my inner tie rod ends are clunking a bit. I'm just wanting some opinions on if I should try to change them myself or pay a shop to do it. I have the chiltons for my car and all the tools I need, but my dad said he's never changed em so he can't give his honest opinion. Main reason I want to do it my self is the knowledge I'll gain and the money I'll save. The parts about 30 bucks each but to have a shop change them it's gonna run about 200+ each side. Wha do yu guys think

http://www.autotrader.com/fyc/vdp.jsp?car_...&cardist=89 The girl likes this car. It's no ///M series but it'll do for her. Her uncle is fronting her a lot of cash towards a new car for a graduation present. She needs/wants something with high gas mileage that is comfortable, reliable, and relatively cheap to fix when/if needed. Her uncle wants something that is decently quick (compared to her 4cyl '89 Camry) and that is rear wheel drive though he is open to quick FWD cars. I want something with decent miles. This is getting on the high side for me but what can I say, we've been on the hunt for 2 months and this is one of the few that is meeting all criteria. The carf…

Does anybody have any good detailing tips, or products, to get professional results? I detail high end show cars, as well as daily drivers, and I'm always looking for that next best thing to come along. Right now I'm currently using the Greot's Garage, best of show, and boss system, to leave my customers cars with that wet concourse finish. I also use their black shine tire and trim spray to leave all the plastic, and rubber parts, shining better then new. Believe it or not, but you can actually improve a brand new car inside and out with the proper techniques, and products.

OK so it isnt a NASCAR truck but it feels brand new, has a better pep in its step, runs a lil smoother, takes off a lil easier, feels like its trying to pull in 3rd gear . Sure it isnt by the seat of your pants faster...but i can feel the extra power. and is sounds hella good too Before (it starts out 5ft away form the tail pipe and moves to the interior) http://media.putfile.com/VOICE00121 and after (starts with the engine running and cuts, starts up agian and moves to the interior) http://media.putfile.com/VOICE00256 Even if i had paid the $240 it was well worth the money, i got it installed in less than 2hrs and the biggest PITA was getting the stock exaust off of the …

I don't know what the problem is, i'm just thinking it's ignition based. Bout 45 days ago, i got in my car and noticed the clock was reset. reset meaning battery disconnected and reconnected... when this happens it will start off at 1:00. I didn't know why it did that so i forgot about it. 1 Week later, it did it again.. but this time i was in the car when it did it. It did it WHILE i was starting the car. Things installed in the car currently- Viper alarm with immobilizer bypass and remote start. 200A solenoid (ignition turn on wire tapped off of ignition wire from radio). When it did it when i was in it, i could hear the solenoid in the back rapidly for that 1sec switch…

I stopped at the store today and parked it and then came back and started it up, sounded fine, then put it into reverse and apply the gas a little. It acted as though it was stuttering. So I put it in drive and same thing, it stutters no matter how much I push the petal, it will not go above 5 mph or above about 1.5k rpm. As I got on the road I had to pull it over and troubleshoot because It was just to slow. If I had to describe what it felt like...It was the feeling of putting a manual car into 5th gear and trying to make it go from a stand still. Acts as though it's about to stall out but it never did. So first, I put it into park, turned off the truck, turned it back …

How much would it cost to get this repaired? I slid into a curb about 30 minutes ago from the black ice on the roads doing about 25-30 mph. I managed to drive it home and don't manage on driving it anywheres unless its to a local car shop. How much do you think this costs and would you recommend me getting a new car? I currently have a 95 Honda Accord - 2.2L Vtech, 235k miles on it >.< Ran excellent, just not in bad weather. Any tips, info, help, would really help. Thanks, Curt

SSA family I need your help. My family is getting to big for my small car ( Acura cl ). I want to buy a used SUV but I know very little about them. I can only spend $6500.00 tops and it must be a 2000 or newer. I will need 4 doors and it must have a V6 or V8 engine. I will use it mostly on the weekend to take the kids around town. My two youngest kids are 12 and 14 years old and have long legs so no small SUV's like a Tracker. So I need a dependable, afforddable SUV for $6500.00 or less 2000 or newer. I hope this is clear and eazy to understand NO TIME FOR WISE ASS REPLY'S Thanks.

Hey guys since I just got my truck future system planes have been popping in my head all week long. I drive a 1999 dodge ram 1500 ext. cab and currently have my FI BTL 15 fully loaded and it is being powered by a Crescendo audio 3KWP. My future plan is to cut my solid folding back seat in half approximately and build a wall in the cut out area. So it will be a 1/2 wall i guess haha (has anyone ever done this?). Any way my plan is to cut the back seat in half and wall off the open are and put in 4 FI SSD 12s. I want to have the subs facing forward and don't know whether to put the port facing forward also or firing the side to the open area so my question is which way shou…

Alright guys, time to shine for those of you with your smart pants on... I have a 2003 Toyota Camry. I previously had a HID conversion kit installed on my car for just over a year. I noticed about 2 months ago one of my headlights went out on the driver's side. Not sure what had happened but when I got home I turned off my car and looked to see if maybe the connection had come loose. It didn't seem to have an issue there. I turned the car back on and turned the lights on and BAM! they worked again.. It happened one more time after that and since I figured it was a random issue I just turned the lights off and back on which got it to work again. Well, last week that same …

I just installed my new alternator from Mike Singer which has a smaller pulley then my Jeeps stock alternators pulley He recommended shortening my serpentine belt by 1" my Jeeps stock length is 88.8", and the closest to this I could find was 87". I've installed the 87" one and it fits, and no problems are apparent but I'm wondering if anyone knows if this can cause problems later on down the road? with my water pump? ac condenser? I just emailed Mike asking if this was alright but I figured I'd throw a post up here as well.

I've got an oil cooler behind my bumper and with this heat I noticed that if I run it hard the temperatures won't drop at highway speeds, which means I need more airflow through it. And since it's right next to the intercooler, I bet that also heats up like hell. Haven't measured IAT's so far since I don't have a sensor. Not looking for power gains, just for cooling gains in preparation for adding more power This is the current setup: And stock: About 1/3 of the intercooler is blocked off by the oil cooler. The intercooler is exactly as big as the square opening (and folded). The plastic is actually some sort of duct, used to seal off the intercooler from the crossmemb…
