I wanted to see what we think are some of the greatest motors of recent history. Keep in mind, just because it was a big motor with big horse power, does not mean its a great motor. Things you need to take into account are longevitity of usage, horse power/litre, durability, amount of different models powered, quality of design, ground breaking technologies, efficency, and performance of course. So post up a motor or two you think should be included in the upcomming poll for people to vote on the Greatest Motor in the last 25 years, and what about it makes it a good canidate. (and dont just say toyota 4 cyclinder or chevy small block give more detail than that) -------…

this is the thread for the hoopties. those lame ass, stupid installes, paint, body kits or just plain ragged out rides. find em and post em and we all get to laugh at them!!! i'll start off with the sprite mobile!! the outside.. and the inside..... luckily all we did was clean up the h/u install and put in a remore keyless/alarm. notice the speakers in the front door? yep, one screw holding them in. and the astroturf carpet?? one thing i didn't get was the fact that on the inside rear galss you could see the way they wrapped the vinyl..and that car actually took second at a local car show!! the car that won?? a bone stock 07 escalade on 28's.... falking idio…

post from CLZZ (TRP Vendor Section) http://www.classifiedzz.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=366 I got my order in for my two cars. Thought i'd share the love and offer this to everyone on behalf of TripleRperformance. We are having a good sale on some HID kits. I am wanting to do a mass order of at least 10 as the price for shipping will be much lower. Well the price for each kit will be $65, and shipping will be around $25 so $90 if we can get 10 orders placed. I can do single orders at $65 and $45 for shipping, so $110 for a single order. Kits can be ordered in H1/H3/H4/H6/H7/H8/H9/H10/H11/H13/9004/9005/9006/9007/880/881/D2/D1 and color levels of 3000K, 4300K, 6000K, 800…

I created this thread so everyone can post pictures of their tint so that I can get an idea because in the next month or two I plan on re-tinting my car. Currently, I have 15% all around and nothing on the windshield but I want more privacy and heat protection from the shield so right now I am planning on doing atleast 5% all around and 50% on the windshield but am considering as dark as 35% on top of 5% all around and 35% on the windshield. I don't want to hear anything about legal issues, trust me I am aware. Just interested in your opinion and if anyone has experience with tint on the windshield and how it is to drive in rain/night/both.... Also Will 5% all around give…

Looking at adding another car (maybe 2) to my garage. I am looking at a CRX as an audio car and then I want a daily driver for AZ. Something with some good power, manual, power windows and either already with nav or I can always add one on. What I am looking at is a 2009(ish) Dodge Challenger R/T edition with the V8. I figure I can easily get one for about 18k in cash. I plan on spending between 14k and 22k on this new toy. This doesnt include rims (if needed), tint or exhust. I will not buy asian autos, and prefer, Dodge, BMW, or Ford. Not much of a Bow Tie kinda guy, and this is for me, not the wife so its gotta be fast enough to easily do something stupid in and fun to…

Okay, as you all kind of maybe, but probably done know, I have a Mercedes 1991 190E 2.3 trim car. As its a mercedes the engine would kill to upgrade. So thats where the VIP syling comes in. What should I do? Images Gallery with PicTiger Yes, there is some problems with the car, like the replaced light casing, and the bumper. Other then then, pretty straight car (meaning no dents). And I know with VIP style that oversized rims, like DUBs are often put on. And I dont think ill keep the car long enough to justify the body kit. Although, suspension isnt a big problem. So Ill probably do that. Rims are EXPENSIVE!!, although I might do it, just because if I sell the ca…

Do any of you guys in the Fort Wayne area know of any decent transmission shops around here that do payment plans? I'm in the middle of finding a new apartment so the smaller a hit I can take at once, the better. Normally id just wait til I had the trans handled to move, but my roommates steal and pawn my shit.

I saw someone already has a similar thread... I currently have about 250-300lbs of audio related items in the trunk and it sits almost an inch above the rear tire... Pic: Mechanic wasn't really too helpful, when he was doing a brake job he casually said it would be like $900 to fix the issue without really checking it... I was watching through the glass partition while they worked.... Any of you mechanics out there work on this car model? what would that typically cost??? I'm not currently using my system because there is a huge drop and difference in height... people always flash their high-beams at me cuz when I drive the lights are almost pointed in their face I …

Purpose: To purchase a vehicle 1-3 years old so I'm not the one who has to swallow the bulk of the depreciation; to purchase a vehicle that is comfortable for monthly (at minimum) 1200 km trips on the highway (through lots of snow in the winter). Narrowed it down to: Cadillac CTS w/ 3.6L Dodge Charger R/T w/ 5.7L Both rated similarly in terms of gas mileage and I would make use of the MDS on the Dodge. Love the comfort of the Cadillac but the interior is a little plain. The Charger makes me feel a little younger and the extra 100hp is attractive, albeit fuel consuming. Tough choice. Thoughts, opinions, experiences? Would love to hear what you guys have to say - especi…

Well, I think it's time the Cobra went bye bye. I need some suggestions on what to get. I have to be able to fit my work tools and a stroller in there, and have plenty of room in a back seat for the baby seat without cramping frontseat passengers. I'm thinking along the lines of an extended cab or crew cab pickup, or a large car with a huge trunk. Budget is $10-12K, and no GM or Chrysler junk please. What's everyone else with the kiddies rollin?

Looking for experience with C&D brand batteries. Specs look better than kinetic and on par or better than XS for the price. $350 for 135ah and advertised floating voltage of 13v plus. Or $245 for 100ah. Not sure what shipping costs are yet as I'm still mobile. I will be having my Mechman alternator shipped back to them for some diode adjustments to bring turn on rpm down to about 550 engine rpms. I believe I'll be rock solid with one group 31 or larger battery plus the kinetic hc1800 under the hood. I'm almost tempted to do 2 of the 100ah batteries and run some 2/0 wire straight from alternator to rear. Thoughts???

so after months of looking for someone who can build an alternator for me with out breaking the bank, i found a man that will work with me. my car comes stock with a 4G alternator. a very small case that leave me sad every time. the man said he can build me a 6G,. its a larger case, with the same bolt up, it has dual fans for cooling, and an under drive pully, and he will send me the pig tail swap to make it pair up with my car, he said its just 2 wires, cut the old ones off wire the new plug up and BAM 240 amps at 1200 RPM, with a 1 year warranty. for right at 200 bucks shipped. now while talking to this man on the phone for a half hour, he got to talking and was …

i was on my way to meet my buddy for breakfast today, and stopped at a stoplight. I looked ahead and saw that they closed the right lane off (i was in the left). So this older 99-05 grand am pulls up next to me, and as the light turns green, the guy speeds off. no knowing that he wanted to pass me up and cut ahead of me, i had a normal start. when i see the guy speed ahead about 10 ft ahead of me, i floor it. this is like a good 1/8-1/4 mile strip of open road. I thought i was gonna catch up, but nope we stayed about the same distance away from each other. when i saw that i wasnt going anywhere i slowed down and he cut ahead. seeing that i have a 5.0 HO v8, vs the…

Well, sine Tirefryr asked, I guess I would post my toy. It is a 1986 Buick Grand National. It has a 3.8L V6, 30 over and stroked. Forged TRW 8.5:1 pistons and a forged Crower crank. Comp cams custom cut to optimize exhaust gas speed to increase spool up and reduce lag. The heads are cast, ported and polished with stainless valves, Chevy 350 lifters and comp cams 1.6:1 roller rockers. The intake manifold is match ported and polished to the heads, and fed through a Turbo-TA stretched intercooler with a Duttwieler neck conversion. I use a 3 inch cold air pipe and a 9 inch K&N. I use stock style headers (I found they have better bottom end then the high flow headers) a TA…

So im in the market for some new wheels for my black civic. Im wanting to do a simple clean blacked out civic. Nothing too over the top just going to tint the windows all the way around with some new taillights and headlights. Now onto the rims, I like them around 6-8 spokes with maybe a silver ring around the outside, so i came across these and was wondering what you guys think or if you have any better options, this is the style im going fo....maybe 17's-18's would be plenty. http://www.sparktecmotorsports.com/dc-6-v2-4.html Any other options would be awsome as im still in the searching stage and dont know too much about decent wheels.

so i picked up another navigator, when i test drove it was missing and had some other issues... we agreed on a price, and a list of things to be fixed before i picked it up.... a tune up being on the list, so i assumed the mechanic fixed it because he called me to come get it.. so foolishly while the mechine finished up some small shit, i went and put the money down and signed the papers, as is of course, i go out to leave.. i start it up .. and its missing! so i jump out and tell home boy its missing. put the computer on it.... cylinder 7 not contributing , same as before, so i assumed it was the coil, ( a very common issue with the fords) so i ordere…
