Sundown Audio

Am looking at the T/S parameters for the SA-12 and noticed that the D2’s RE is listed as 4.33 Ohms when tested in series. From what I’m used to seeing, the RE values are typically less than the advertised impedance rating so the 4.33 feels a bit high for a sub with dual 2 ohm coils. The D4's RE value of 7.09 is right in line with what I'd expect. Could someone please help me understand what’s going on here with the D2? Thanks!

Ok i am still tryin to get the math down and figure out what would be the best overall enclosure . I want a wide range of response and to be loud as well. I know going with a high tune will most likely produce high spl levels but this is not a competion box. I am not interested in serious sq but want it to be musical and not really peaky I have some box specs and would like some help in deciding if the box will work for what i want width- 47in height- 21in depth-14in port width-3.5 port lenght1-9.75 port lenght2-3 port area -68 volume 5.6cubes tuned 35htz

I've mainly been updating on Facebook but we have been heavily involved in moving our location about 20 minutes down the road to Claremont, NC to a much larger facility for most of July. We now have functional shipping, testing, and build room areas at the new location plus a few office guys have transferred over as well. It has been a bit of a long process but it's coming along nicely. I have not yet moved my office or Debbie and the accounting / invoicing systems so it's been a bit inefficient as the data has to be transferred to the new location to ship (aside from Yard Sale) -- but the goal is to move all this by Monday and have everyone working in the same location…

when i put the subs in about two weeks ago the box slid back towards the trunk lid while being played and caused a crack in the surround on one of em. trying to avoid getting a recone b/c the sub plays fine, just thinking about the longevity aspect another question is that im thinking about getting another box made along the lines of 3.5-4 cubes @ the lowest possible tuning and still get loud. i was thinking 30 hz for these beasts.

Hello, One of my friend wants something to power his Xcon (in a 3.5ft3 net ported box). He wanted a Sundown 3500 D, but there are some really good deals on some 3000's. Do you think a used(from Sundown) or a refurb(from Db-r) 3000 can give the sub all the power it needs ? I think the 3500 is "better", but more expensive too ! How can they be compared ? AT 2 OHMS ONLY !!! BTW what to you think about used or refurbished amplifier ? I live in a Hot island (30° C all year long) so the ampp must be reliable. I would not like to send any amp back to the USA, shipping is about 200$ !!!

i see on the 1000D thread that sundown is working on some more amps like the 75.2 250.2 50.4 any clue on the timeline for those ? release dates and such? subs aswell i think im not the only one interested in those:D Eli.

I know u dont recommend to run the SAZ 1500 @.5ohms but if I do do I have enough electrical? I have one deka intimidator (55 a/h) under the hood 2 runs of 0/1 to the back to a data safe (100+ a/h) and 2 105 amp alternators big 3 what do u think?

Ok so I have a stock Jetta 1999.5... Had to do some work on my system, my MDF speaker mounts had rotted away in my doors, so while I had the car apart replacing them, I decided to also install the SAX 1000D I had bought a year or so ago, and hadn't yet gotten around to putting in my system. This was to replace the Alpine MRV T-505 that I had been using as a sunb amp. Wow, the difference in bass output is amazing, this is almost too much bass. I don't want my car to sound like the typical boom thump that you'll hear in just about every town in America, but right now it does. I have to say congratulations to Gary aka banginAltima for his new personal best score of a 146.9. This was done out of the trunk of his '06 Altima using a pair of RF T1 15s powered by a single Sundown saz-1500d. It is a daily car tuned to 33hz and peaks @ 41hz so no fart boxes here. This car will absolutely pound some Jeezy. This score done with the car completely sealed and mic on the windshield DbDrag style. He is by far the loudest trunk car in his power class. Sundown Powa! I didn't do too bad today either taking 1st in Street Bass (like BassRace) with a perfect 139.9. Yay for cash prizes!

Hey Jacob, I was wondering how much excursion is safe with these 10's. On some heavier midbass songs they get goin with maybe a half inch of excursion. Theres no hint of distortion o just want to make sure they were designed to handle this.. Thanks

Okay here is my somewhat problem. I have a 3000D with a Bass knob and I am trying to figure out how to get this Gain Knob set right. Now I have my gain set, and everything right on my deck, my thing is when I plug in the Knob do I set it to minimum or Max, or do I set the Gain and deck with the Knob already plugged into the amp? I am trying to get it where I can just turn the knob to turn up the gain instead of the deck, which is a pain in the ass. Because as of right now when I turn up the Knob it reaches it full potential at about half instead of max, so I really cant get it to where I want it with that small of a range. Recently getting involved with Sundown as a dealer in Florida, I sold my entire JL setup and switched to Sundown amps and subs. Jacob worked hand in hand with finding a good fit for my small BMW 318i. I installed 2 Sundown SA 12" subs on a Sundown 1500 Watt Amp. They are wired to 1ohm and run extremely well. The ported box is tuned to about 34hz, and i am very pleased with how the subs are responding. These subs will blow so many other setups out of the water! I am proud to say more amps will be going into my car and I look forward to selling a quality product! Kevin

I bought a SAX-100.4 a long time ago and had it installed in my last car for about 1 year, and I had it sitting in my garage since then. I recently hooked it up into my current car and am having a strange problem. I am only running front speakers with a small sub eventually to come. So I ran the speaker cable from the front speakers to Channel 1 and 2. I then plugged Channel 1 and 2 RCA's into the Front Left-Right on my Alpine 9886 HU. When I listen to a song music only comes out the drivers side properly. I try plugging the RCA from Channel 1 into Channel 2 on the amp and no sound.
