Sundown Audio

As the title states, trying to find the displacement on Sundown Z18v.3's. I've tried for the last several hours using google and searching on several forums to get the info on these beasts. Thanks in advance to whoever can help.

I would like to use a AC voltmeter to set the gain on my SAZ-3500D. Can I get the voltage just before clipping at a 1 ohm load?

I'm working my way through building my system and I'm starting to think I might not want to go with the 2 Kinetik HC2400's I was originally going to put in the trunk due to space restrictions. I have a Kinetik HC1800 under the hood, DCPowerinc 250a alt with 14.6/15.6 switchable MLA installed. I need enough juice to power 3 SAX-100.4D amps at 4ohms and 1 SAZ-3000D at 1ohm. So, keeping the power under the hood the same, would it be ok instead of 2 HC2400's in the trunk to go with the smaller HC600's (maybe 4 or 6 of them)? I could easily fit those anywhere and still have some cargo area left over.

Again, Posting some high quality pics for anyone who is interested and can't find any on the web. I will update this thread when it is installed in my vehicle, but that may be a week or two. SAZ-2500 Will be pushing four of my VVX-12's. Can't wait!! Amp is a great size as well for the power it packs. to start i will tell you what i have.... 99 s10 ext cab. 2 15" nightshades v1, saz 3500D, current box is wedge syle, 7 cubes at 31hz, 90.75 sq inches of port, slot port firing up along the back. now ive tried a few things and many box's, i haven't been able to make it loud on the lows, and sound clean, its loud, but its not clean sounding to me. ive tried tuning higher, but then it wont hammer the lows like i wanted it to. so im debating on trying some aero ports, or selling these and buying 4 sa-12's and hoping the play better? what do you guys suggest i do?, also to describe the sound i hear is like a chuffing sound, and gets worse with window open. very hard to explain…

I have gotten my nightshade from fedex yesterday. Had it reconed from a twelve. I would like to say it looks excellent and you can even smell the new sub smell. Haha thank you jacob for your help. Jordan Hughes

Anyone have an extra remote knob laying around that they could spare? I am in the final stages of putting together my system for my Mini and got a great deal on a 100d but it was missing the knob. Any help would be appreciated. David

hey guys since i dont got a dmm handy, i want to set my 1500d as accurately as possible so can u guys who are running 1500ds or amps with similar settings give me a heads up on exactly what you guys have your settings at? ive recently been running mine on 2 type argh's and they get stinky within about 3-5 at times. so any help on settings so my amp sends a cleaner feed to my subs so they dont stink as much?

well here is the first of 2 of the 1500D's i will be having in my possession soon hopefully. But this isnt the first Sundown amp i have i also have the 100.2 which is a badass amp i love it hopefully the 1500D will do some damage lol

got my saz-2000d and sax-100.4 in the big brown sleigh today. loving this support i need to get to work installing these.

im adding another 1500 d to my setup and was wondering if i should run more 0gage wire to the back.ive got a 200 amp alt. with a yellow top up front and two batts. in the back.voltage is fine now.lowest at around 13.6 at full volume.ive upgraded my power wire from my alt. to battery and was wondering if i should run a wire from alt. to fuse by amps or add any wire or what to do to get maximum wattage.im running them at 1ohm each and will strap them later one.thanks for ur help guys.

Never owned Sundown before but I researched for almost a month all kinds of amplifiers. Price wasn't as big of a concern to me as quality. I read countless posts about Sundown on the internet and never came across a single negative about them. So I decided I'd power my system with Sundown. I bought a SAX-100.4 a long time ago and had it installed in my last car for about 1 year, and I had it sitting in my garage since then. I recently hooked it up into my current car and am having a strange problem. I am only running front speakers with a small sub eventually to come. So I ran the speaker cable from the front speakers to Channel 1 and 2. I then plugged Channel 1 and 2 RCA's into the Front Left-Right on my Alpine 9886 HU. When I listen to a song music only comes out the drivers side properly. I try plugging the RCA from Channel 1 into Channel 2 on the amp and no sound. Hey guys -- our Z v.2 line is now SOLD OUT. If you have a super emergency need for one I can dig up some used motors from our legendary "sea of woofers" in the top secret back room... but as for new that is it for them! People that have *already* ordered them or already asked me should be good but no new sales will be available unless a used motor will do. hi, my truck has 2 jump seats. ( one on each side) and i only need 1 so i figure that i can use the empty the space to mount my sax100.2 for my 2 sdl v1 12" and my soon to be sax100.4 under the driver's seat and use the passenger side as the access to the one jump seat so it wount get kicked or anything. and i am wondering will this cause any heating issue's with the sax100.2 because it will have a cover on it to make it look farirly stock, i was thinking of maybe adding a cross flow type fan but i figure i would ask before i go ahead and do it. if u want i can most pics of it tomorrow,

I have decided to start building the box now, to motivate me to save money and buy the woofers. :bigclap: 2 Nightshade 18"s Dual 2 ohm coils, to be ran at .5 daily on a SAZ-3000. But I need to know what kind of airspace these things like. I have no idea since I hear they like small boxes. I was think 9-10^3 net, tuned to 35Hz. I wonder if Thumper would build me one.......

I just got my saz 1000d amp and saw that it had 2 sets of speaker outputs labeled A and B. Do i only need to use one of them for one sub to get my full 1000 watts or both of them?

What kind of power will a pair of SAZ-3000d's put out at 1 ohm? Just looking for an estimate.

My channel #2 isn't working on my amp. I get very little sound and it's very distorted. I checked all the RCA and speaker connections on the amp and behind the headunit, I checked the fuses, I tried switching speakers, I tried unhooking my SAE-1000D, I tried switching polarity, nothing worked. Any idea what could be wrong? I took the amp out of the car. Should I look for anything inside the amp?
