Sundown Audio

As the title states, trying to find the displacement on Sundown Z18v.3's. I've tried for the last several hours using google and searching on several forums to get the info on these beasts. Thanks in advance to whoever can help.

I'm working my way through building my system and I'm starting to think I might not want to go with the 2 Kinetik HC2400's I was originally going to put in the trunk due to space restrictions. I have a Kinetik HC1800 under the hood, DCPowerinc 250a alt with 14.6/15.6 switchable MLA installed. I need enough juice to power 3 SAX-100.4D amps at 4ohms and 1 SAZ-3000D at 1ohm. So, keeping the power under the hood the same, would it be ok instead of 2 HC2400's in the trunk to go with the smaller HC600's (maybe 4 or 6 of them)? I could easily fit those anywhere and still have some cargo area left over.

Again, Posting some high quality pics for anyone who is interested and can't find any on the web. I will update this thread when it is installed in my vehicle, but that may be a week or two. Okay so I got my build done about 5-6 months ago and wired it up and have been running it at .4-.5 ohms with no issues. All of the sudden last Friday it just cut off, no smoke no obvious burn marks. Just went into protect and would not come back out. I know that running it this low can cause issues and so I just went ahead and sent it off to db-r and they think i fried the drive board or the input. My question is can anyone think of what may have caused this. Is it just because i was running it at the .4-.5 ohm load, or can it be something else that i can fix and prevent this from happening again. My electrical is as followed. Does the new heatsink on the sax-100.2 look the same as the SAE-1200D? Just curious because I thought it would be all black but the one I got today from db-r wasn't.

I would like to use a AC voltmeter to set the gain on my SAZ-3500D. Can I get the voltage just before clipping at a 1 ohm load?

Hey guys -- our Z v.2 line is now SOLD OUT. If you have a super emergency need for one I can dig up some used motors from our legendary "sea of woofers" in the top secret back room... but as for new that is it for them! People that have *already* ordered them or already asked me should be good but no new sales will be available unless a used motor will do. Never owned Sundown before but I researched for almost a month all kinds of amplifiers. Price wasn't as big of a concern to me as quality. I read countless posts about Sundown on the internet and never came across a single negative about them. So I decided I'd power my system with Sundown. I preordered the SAE-1200D knowing I'd have to wait a month or so to get it. That was a tough decision too because I hate to wait. I have a JVC KD-AHD59 HU, front components and a Polk 4ohm SVC sub. I am planning to run the front components on ch 1/2 and bridge the sub on ch 3/4. The HU has 4 preamp outputs, line out L/R for the fronts and L/R outputs for the sub. I'm confused by the L/R sub outputs. Can I run those 2 sub outputs into ch 3/4 inputs on the amp and bridge the amp outputs for the sub? Seems odd to me. Please advise. Kent

Built a pair of drop-ins for a customer so I took a few shots. My channel #2 isn't working on my amp. I get very little sound and it's very distorted. I checked all the RCA and speaker connections on the amp and behind the headunit, I checked the fuses, I tried switching speakers, I tried unhooking my SAE-1000D, I tried switching polarity, nothing worked. Any idea what could be wrong? I took the amp out of the car. Should I look for anything inside the amp?

The remote gain control for the SAZ 1500D. The cable that connects to the amp. Is it special or can I use any cable with RJ11 ends?

Ok so I am helping my friend build a system for his truck and we are planing on doing one of those under seat enclosures. I wanted to know if just one or two 4" aero ports will be enough to let the sa-8 breath. I think two would work great but my friend wants me to get a second opinion.

im adding another 1500 d to my setup and was wondering if i should run more 0gage wire to the back.ive got a 200 amp alt. with a yellow top up front and two batts. in the back.voltage is fine now.lowest at around 13.6 at full volume.ive upgraded my power wire from my alt. to battery and was wondering if i should run a wire from alt. to fuse by amps or add any wire or what to do to get maximum wattage.im running them at 1ohm each and will strap them later one.thanks for ur help guys.

I'm trying to contact Charles from G-Vegas NC used to work at Techno Audio. There is a show this weekend just wanted to see if you were going to be there running any sundown equipment. We meet a few months back at the store I was the guy running the CDT audio equipment.

How much electrical back up do I need to run a pair strapped at 2 and 1 ohm?

Okay I just put it in my new 5000 and I have two amps... Sundown SAE-1000D and SAX-100.4. Well I have two sets of RCA cables going to the 100.4, one set going from the front preouts on the 5000 to channels 1 and 2, and the other set is going from the rear preouts on the 5000 to channels 3 and 4. For some reason I'm not getting any music out of the rears. I can hear a very faint "tv snow-screen" type of sound coming out when I have my ear up to one of the speakers, but that's it. Anyone know what's going on?

Curious as to if there was a push back on time or date.

The guy in this thread basically had the same questions as I. I thought about bumping it, but it might suit me best to have my own thread. If I want my High Pass crossover point to be at 3.5khz @24db slope, then playing a tone at 3.5KHZ should be half the wattage of what frequency? Should I expect full wattage at 4khz?

well, i ordered both my amps earlier this week, and sundown has very fast shipping. Hopefully will have everything hooked up in couple weeks, it will be hard to wait, but i will be working 7 days a week for at least 2 weeks. Pics and new cd player came in also today:

well here is the first of 2 of the 1500D's i will be having in my possession soon hopefully. But this isnt the first Sundown amp i have i also have the 100.2 which is a badass amp i love it hopefully the 1500D will do some damage lol
