Built a pair of drop-ins for a customer so I took a few shots. Yes... we stock parts even for our 2" coil drivers - I can't stand to see sub motors get thrown away (hang on E8 v.1 guys... working on updated parts for those). * Top triple joint action - we assemble these ourselves so it's all done with heavy duty CA glue like the Z v.2 and Nightshades. * Side view. Surround is a little bowed from sitting in it's shipping box, the cone is straight no problem * Rear triple joint support ring in place like the bigger SA woofers. * Your SA-8 make a ticking sound at high excursion? Guess what ? It moved about 28mm rearward and your triple joint ring hit the top plate. Need…

Ok so I am helping my friend build a system for his truck and we are planing on doing one of those under seat enclosures. I wanted to know if just one or two 4" aero ports will be enough to let the sa-8 breath. I think two would work great but my friend wants me to get a second opinion.

I have 2 sd1v2 10", not sure how to connect the wires on this diagram above. Do I solder, crimp, or something? It shows to hook a wire + to + and -to- but do I have to put two wires in one sub terminal? http://www.jbl.com/car/product_support/Sub...aspx?type=2-4-1

The guy in this thread basically had the same questions as I. I thought about bumping it, but it might suit me best to have my own thread. If I want my High Pass crossover point to be at 3.5khz @24db slope, then playing a tone at 3.5KHZ should be half the wattage of what frequency? Should I expect full wattage at 4khz?

In response to the current economic situation we are lowering our MAP pricing. Cost for our amps from an authorized dealer outside of a pre-order or special sale have changed as follows : SAZ-1000D : $355 OLD / $315 NEW SAZ-1500D : $570 OLD / $500 NEW SAZ-2000D : $670 OLD / $615 NEW SAX-125.2 : $255 OLD / $240 NEW SAX-100.4 : $395 OLD / $365 NEW The prices listed under "NEW" are now available at any authorized Sundown dealer. I sent out a dealer news-letter this morning, so if your dealer has any questions have them call me.

i just got me a nice pair of twins! i tested them in my vehicle while at the store, (no RCAs and speakers connected, used my relay) and they 'restarted' like normal.. (which further hints that there was a problem with the 3000D..) anyway, i can't wait to get these connected.. and i just can't stop staring at them..

So, I got my second 1000D in today. I took it straight to the truck. Hooked it up, I had them ran strapped at 2 ohm. The woofers are D2's, which were ran in parallel in the box then ran in series out side the box, bringing the total to 2 ohm. I only use the left side of the speaker connectors next to the 8awg. It worked fine, sounded good, was loud and voltage was fine. I THEN, tried to re-wire the subs. I wired them in series in the box, so each woofer went up to 4ohm, I then ran each one to the amps. I thought that it would end up bringing the ohm load to 2 ohm, so each amp would see 1ohm. When ran like this, they weren't as loud and voltage DROPPED. Horribly I wired …

Well since I always see so much talk about new sundown products, figured I might as well throw out the possibility of full-range coax and or component speakers. I would def. be more interested in the component speakers, especially if individual drivers designed for active or custom built passive x-overs.

We've had some e-mail system glitches at the shop. I've been discussing it on our Facebook page the last few days -- the long of the short is that if you sent a message before February 1st and didn't get a response there is a HIGH likelihood that your message was lost; it is not being ignored but it simply isn't here. Our e-mail volume was too much for consumer e-mail programs and they freaked out a bit... various database problems. In any event our new Zendesk support ticket system for our e-mails is working very smoothly; we fired it up yesterday. If you have an e-mail in that is older than February 1st please re-send it to one of these @sundownaudio.com addresses; bran…

I'm new to Sundown equipment, and haven't owned any before. I've read so many wonderful reviews and posts by Jacob, I'm confident that the product will exceed my expectations. However, I have concerns that this will be *too big* (if that's possible). I'm considering the SAX-100.4 for my daily driver (with future uses in mind, of course). This would run my entire system, stereo for front component set (probably high-passed @ 80-100hz), and bridged rear to the sub (low-passed @ 80-100hz). The sub I have probably would hit max excursion before full output of this amp, so gain would probably be set low on the bridged channel, and low on the fronts to match. My prior exp…
