Sundown Audio

Well here goes.... I have the option to either buy a 1993 s10 extcab or an astrovan. Kinda stuck on what to get. Now I have built both before for a couple guys in the area but this ones mine. Either way its going to get LOUD. Just want some ideas on which one?

1) Would it harm the amp if you do not use all the channels? Need to send one of my speakers back for warranty and wondering if there is no speaker on channel 4 if that would hurt the amp. 2) Friend wants to upgrade his system. What type of power does bridging channels 3 & 4 give? Want to possibly run a pair of components and a sub.

are the heat sinks grounded on sundown amps ? i would figure so but just checking. does anyone ground the case of thier amp?

which amp would be the best match for a JL 13W7? SAZ-1000? I can run it at .75 ohm or 3 ohm. thanks.

Ive been watching the new heatsink SAZ3K on db-r been available for 4 days and havnt came up with the money until now. I go to order it and its gone! Who took my amp?! lol

I'd like to know what's the efficiency spec. of the nightshades. I couldn't find it in the website.

I am getting ready to buy the sundown 100.4 amp and I have never done this before, but really want to try it. I am going to run the tweets of two channels and the mids off the other two channels. How do I set up the crossovers to do this? I know this may be a dumb question but I have always had external crossover's and want to run this way. Please help.

i'm thinkin about getting a SAZ-1500D i need to know is the wired remote on sundown amps for bass boost or gain, hopefully gain..thanks in advance

Hello Jacob and all of the Sundown community, Very new here, and thanks for having me. There seems to be an ambient thermal issue and was looking for some advice. I have my 1500d mounted on the back fold-down seat in a 2003 Pontiac Grand Am SE1. The problem is, the temperatures here are peaking @ triple digits here lately, and average temps are around 98F-99F. Well, when I get in the car (usually around noon, lunch break), the amp is already hot, I cant leave my hand on it more than about 5-10 seconds. I miss calculated on my port and I am tuned to 29Hz instead of 32Hz. My box is ~5.3 cubes after displacements, I have 20.5'' of port (13.5'' in the box and 7'' out). I am going to cut the port down at the top. Will I notice an audiable change? I mostly play decafs chopped/screwed songs and I dont think they dip under 30hz, if they do its only breifly. Is 29 too low for a nightshade? Its ran off an AQ2200 @ 1 ohm

Hi guys I was wondering, does this sub have only one type/version that you (Sundown) sell, or are their options for the sub itself that can be upgrade, changed etc. ?? I know the Fi BTL has loaded options and things like that. Also other subs can be ordered with copper or aluminum coils. But is there only one type made in an 18" size that is sold without less/added features ?

Is there an easy way to make one of the wired remotes into a master volume control for all of my 100.2s? My HU doesn't have a knob. I like knobs.

Sundown E-10/12/15 and SA-10 D4 Back In Stock Just finished unloading and sorting the container. So they are ready for order once again. I just got my refurbed 100.4 and got 3 quick questions. 1. I have existing 8 gauge power and ground that connect to the primary battery less than 3feet from the amp. I would like to run this amplifier initially to power a subwoofer 4ohm off of chan 3/4 and leave chan 1/2 empty. Would this be ok? I would upgrade to 4 gauge when I hook up the front 2 chan. 2. I have a pair of RCA's from my sub out on my HU. Is this going to provide enough signal or does this amp require all 4 rca's to be hooked up. I think they should be ok, but just wanted to ask. 3. Want to know how 2 12" Nightshade would do in 2.742 cubes and on a Sound Stream xxx-6500d at 1 ohms?? I was worried about the box being to big I am only about a 1/4 to 1/2 up on gain right now on two Mass Destruction Napalm's and they sound good but are really made for a smaller box.. Also how much are the 12" version did not see it on the site or missed it.

i have been wondering why there is no iinformation on www.sundownaudio.com about the SAE-1000D? is it old? or do you guys just not make them any more? i bought mine off db-r.com a couple months ago.. so the only chance i would have of finding another SAE-1000D is if i buy it from another person?
