I have 2 1500s coming to me and before i install them i want to make sure that my electrical will handle it right now i have a stock alternator on my bravada (blazer if you will) pushing ~110amps and 1 yellowtop optima my plan was just to replace the stock alt with a 300 amp one but seeing as these amps can be run at a higher voltage than 14.4 i was thinking of doing dual alts and running 16 volts on a 300 or 200 amp alternator (whichever is reccomended) and have a seprate battery in the back I would like to get as much power from them as possible so i will most likely strap them @ 1ohm (i know its not covered under warranty) I just need to know how big of an alternator…

Both my 1500D & 100.2 is getting hot under normal operation. Not so hot I can't touch 'em but pretty warm. The 1500D is pushing my SS RL-p D2 at 1ohm & my 100.2 is pushing my comp set at 4ohms. I run 1/0 wire to both & they are in an area where they should be getting a sufficient amount of air for cooling. Is this normal or should I be concerned? Thanks guys.

Well first comp of the season yesterday, I was not really prepared, my resin on my box wasn't completely cured, I hadn't done any testing, my car looked like crap... but I went anyways. I hit low yesterday, but was having issues all day. Final run for head 2 head eliminations was a 139.1 in street A. Good enough for first place. Street B was won by TJ (goes by old/skool on termpro) with a 151. something. Street C was won by my friend Matt in his ford festiva with a 138.6. Bob the guy with the blue van and all the t3 woofers was there doing mid 60's all day, it was impressive. Bassrace, I came in third in the 139 class, I wanted to be in the 129 class but qualified with…

Well guys i decided since im making some money, which is pretty good for 16, im planning my electrical now so i'm prepared in a few weeks. Right now i currently have a sae-1000D and 100.4 bridged on a 3 way set of CDT HD's and a Fi Q. However, 2 weeks ago i purchased another Sae-1000D Proto #2 i believe since i got #1, and i plan on buying a 100.2 in a week or two to go active 3 way on the CDT's. However situation is that im not sure how my electrical will hold up. My electrical consists of this. 200 amp iraggi alt which is rated at 200 amps @ 1700 rpms and 120 @ idle (was told by Dom they conservatively rated and prob more like 215 - 130ish Big three with 1/0 Gauge KLM K…

I got 8 dual 10" subs in a ported box I TOTALLY forgot about. So while the glue dries on the newsetup, I'mma hook the 8 10's up to the pair of 1500 watt Sundowns. Anyone care to guess the db's?? Box is the size of the cargo area up to the side glass in a 99 Explorer. About 4 inches shy of the tailgate. Tuned to 42 hz if I remember right. I'm thinking I can pull a 143 atleast. J

I'm redesigning the system in my truck. I'm going to be running 12 Re Audio RE 8's. Dual 4 coils, so I can get a .5 ohm load (i think). They are 175 rms, so if I use a 1500D I should be able to give them 125 each. I've been hearing a lot of good things about sundown. I'm just curious if the 1500 will be a good choice. I'm aware that they aren't warrantying .5 loads now. But I have a 200amp alt. 3 Mercedes 1200amp batteries and a dual 1/0gauge wire run. I used to run two Orion 2500'd and the voltage would only drop down to 12.4 ish. I guess I'm being cheap, but I'd like to find a place where I can get one for less than 599$. I don't see anyplace that sells them within a…

http://forum.realmofexcursion.com/showthre...4123#post334123 Full Text: Well I just got done testing the 100x4 rms amplifier from Sundown, and I have to say that I am very pleased with the results. This amp showed up in a great looking box, so I opened it up and found all manuals and spec sheets intact. Everything looked just great, so I opened her up to take a look at the guts and take a couple of pics for you guys. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v643/din.../bananas073.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v643/din.../bananas079.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v643/din.../bananas082.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v643/din.../bananas072.jpg http://img.phot…

I am just wondering, coming from an Sq person to spl, I still tend to choose amps for clean power and heaps of headroom, size is never really an issue (as in footprint) as I will make it fit. I rarely even look at features as well. (mostly because I am running active, all I really need is a gain.

I just wanted to know, if I had a 300 amp alternator and 1 kinetiks 2400 batts with a run of 1/0 would I have enough juice for 1 ohm daily without massive voltage drop?

ok so i'm purchasing 2 18" BTLs and really considering getting 2 of these amps.. heres my question do i get 2 Dual 2ohm BTLs and run 1 on each amp at 1ohm @ 1500 watts rms each OR do i get 2 Dual 1ohm BTLs wire them parallel on the 2 1500s strapped @ 1ohm to get the 3700 watts? how efficiant is it to strap these amps? and are there any other worth while scenarios that i should consider? I will be getting a 300amp alt and as of now i only have 1 yellow top, will i need more batteries with that big of an alternator?

The latest word on the arrival of the SAE-1000D shipment is May 1st - 2nd. Pre-orders will be shipped starting the day they arrive and some will also go out the next day -- when yours ships you will get a tracking number from UPS, so you will know that it has shipped.

First off, this doesn't seem very mono block to me (tis a two channel amp), but anyway... Could someone explain to me how you would wire up a single SVC sub? The diagram on page 5 shows bringing a line to both power outputs on the speaker positive connections, and no line to the negatives at all. This doesn't make any sense to me. Do you link the two negatives together, and run one positive to the speaker's positive, and the other positive to the speaker's negative?

Only took a few shots of the actual box build as I just didn't feel like stopping to take pics. 45's in the corners and strap braces on all walls, plus double front baffle. Box is plenty solid.

"The ATO style fuses in the SAE-1000D are designed to handle roughly 130% of rated current for 10 minutes per the spec sheet for around 98 amps of handling, which at 14.4 volts is almost exactly 1000 watts at 75% efficiency. Since this is not an SPL competition amp I decided to go with 3x 25 amp fuses. The prototypes had 3x 30 amp fuses and I found that they would not blow even at a 1/2 ohm load for extended periods. I went with 3x 25 amp fuses to give a warning to inexperienced users when they wire the amp too low." Also posted in the FAQ thread: http://www.soundsolutionsaudio.com/forum/i...?showtopic=7406 Item Number 4. I was seeing the question about fusing on several …
