Check it out We made a ghetto box last night for some 8s -- 1/2" thick MDF, no bracing, we did not actually calculate the tuning or volume so don't ask *laughs* http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hLbTtVjdD8c * Bass Race Run http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=f_FN83Ut62s * Burp Score But yes... the E8s have some good SPL potential.

I didnt want to clutter up the thread that was talking about the upcoming E8 woofer but I had some questions about it in relation to other sized woofers. I can not find anyplace in my town that sells or even has 8 inch woofers on display so I can hear. I have no idea what kind of bass come from the 8 inch woofers. All I'm familar with is the bass that comes from my two 12 inch Cerwin Vegas in a sealed enclosure. I'm looking for something punchier (the bass from the 12s seems muddy) but I still want it to get as loud at the lower frequencies as my 12s do (so I'm looking at 4 of these E8s). I just need to know if the 8s will deliver this punchier bass....i'm assumin…

How many people like 8" woofers? I have drawn up a design for an 8" subwoofer as a fun side-project but I find myself liking the design more and more as I look it over! This is what I came up with, wondering who would be interested: FS = 23.6 Hz Qms = 2.55 Qes = 0.350 Qts = 0.308 VAS = 21.2 L RE = 3.32 Ohms Z = 4 ohms Le = 1.668 mH BL = 12.73 N/A Mms = 113.46 g XMAX = 12.2 mm one-way by 70% BL method Xmech = 18 mm (the coil will hit the back plate at 18mm) Power Handling = 200 watts RMS Sealed Box Specs: 0.185 ft^3 0.707 Qts Alignment F3 = 55 Hz Ported Box Specs: 0.50 ft^3 Tuning = 30 Hz F3 = 28 Hz ----- This driver would also make a pretty solid midbass driver up to 100 …

I bassraced. Got a horrible score... 151.5. Kinda crappy start, almost 120 degrees at the time, drained batteries, warm subs, warm amps.... The amps were screwed basically. I didnt play it once the entire drive there, for like 30 minutes, or at all that day even. After that ride with the amps just in the heat, they were burning up. People who I see bassrace a 153.5 no problem at all had the hardest time you could imagine break 150 in bassrace. My amps are also set to be safe. Gains less then 1/8 up, with SSF set way up to like 40-45hz. Its set to not blow anything up, but Im guessing that when I tune and tweak them Ill gain a good bit. It wasnt a good day for anyone. Well…

These all have original boxes + remotes. They are all "new case" style amps. Cosmetic condition varies slightly between them. ONE YEAR warranty included. $350 shipped each in continental USA. These are USED amplifiers... they are not NEW. Cosmetic imperfections are a given... if you plan to complain about any small cosmetic blemishes don't buy them. I will say it again... these are not new and are not necessarily mint condition. * Tape was applied to the face of this amp, you could scrub the adhesive off.

to start i will tell you what i have.... 99 s10 ext cab. 2 15" nightshades v1, saz 3500D, current box is wedge syle, 7 cubes at 31hz, 90.75 sq inches of port, slot port firing up along the back. now ive tried a few things and many box's, i haven't been able to make it loud on the lows, and sound clean, its loud, but its not clean sounding to me. ive tried tuning higher, but then it wont hammer the lows like i wanted it to. so im debating on trying some aero ports, or selling these and buying 4 sa-12's and hoping the play better? what do you guys suggest i do?, also to describe the sound i hear is like a chuffing sound, and gets worse with window open. very hard to explain…

I am wondering about something I hear alot of people talking about and want to know what it is. What is the big three? I have a Sundown audio 1500.1, to a single 12, sub box tuned to 40 hz. Electrical setup is as follows, for right now at least, stock battery up front. With two runs of 4 guage back to kinetik 800, then to a 3 farad cap, then to fuse block and lastly amp. Ground wire on second battery, and capacitor are 0 guage. I know I need to upgrade to all 0 guage, that is coming. I ran outta money, but I am still running at 12.7 at full tilt. And that is at the amp. I am just looking for more db's anywhere I can get them. Any help is and will be greatly app…

in the sticky where they did a test this is what was read Power supply voltage was 16.5 volts at rest dropping to around 14.5 volts. So consider this a 14.5 volt output rating. Our clamp meter ran out of steam at 400 amps so we measured efficiency at lower levels: 3294 watts @ 84% efficiency (252 amps draw) 3938 watts @ 81% efficiency (316 amps draw) 4424 watts @ 74% efficiency (392 amps draw) here is my question and i want to get a better understanding of this so bear with me for a minute..lol 3294 watts with 252 amps draw..now lets say your running 2 of the 3k watt models which would be 504 amps draw? and if your alt is only a 300 amp alt how does that work? im sure i h…

Over the last few days I was home and able to run a couple tests with my gear. I was pleasantly surprised to see these numbers when I clamped my pair of SAZ-1500Ds strapped at 2 ohms (1-per), car on with factory alt, off of a little 600CA battery: ~3,100WRMS I built my first attempt at a box strictly geared towards SPL, and after tinkering with it a bit worked up to a score of 146.0 dbdrag style, using these amps and two 12" RE SXs out of a saturn trunk. Just figured I'd share the results... I have big plans for this summer once I get a hold of a new battery and some time to build/test.

I would like to start off by Thanking Jacob Fuller for being a great friend and a true sponsor. This year MECA Car Audio had a lot of problems on manufactures backing out on the Trophies for finals. With one call to Jacob and after talking with him on the problem. Jacob was willing to help. With not going into details. We worked out the details on how to save the trophie package for Street Classes. I just want to Thank Jacob on behalf of all Team Sundown Competitors and Sundown Consumers that Show in MECA. You couldn't ask for a better Company that stands by his Competitors than the way Jacob Fuller Does!!! I Thank You,My Team Thank's You and The MECA Family Thank's You …
