The amps are in California at the moment from our current update (just now) -- they should arrive at our shop shortly after CES. I know some people have been anxiously awaiting this ! Here are a few pics of a complete product from the factory :

  2. hi everyone need some advice on a custom built box for a single 12 inch sa-12 2 ohm sub. I'll be building the box with 3/4 mdf wood and the space i have to work with is 41 inches from left to right and 17 inches in depth. the car the sub Will be going in is a 2001 kia sportage ex small size suv and the amp i will be useing is a pyle plad3300d which puts out 1200 to 1300 watts at one ohm. now i never built me a custom vented box before but i have built a few sealed boxes in the past so my skill level for building a vented box is low. the music i listen to is rap and hip hop and my goal is to more daily driving and a little competition so i want the most spl i can get but w…

I've had my dealers asking me for years for a shallow component set so I started on one... here are some sneak peeks of the first sample set. We are testing them in Nick's car since he is a big SQ guy They are VERY shallow and will fit in any application I can imagine. For a driver this shallow excursion is not bad; obviously not a super high throw driver but crossover over steeply at 80 Hz will do nicely. So far we've tested the mid and we are very pleased for the depth and cost... Overall set price would be under $200 from an authorized dealer.

Ok so here's the deal...I ordered 2 sa15's 2ohm and a saz-1500d v2 The ported size is 3-4 cubes so I found a ported box that had 3.05 cu ft for each sub and tuned at 29hz...so come to find out that's the gross cu ft and it has 2.55 per sub, so my question is...is this box waaay to small for what I have? If so there is a audio place near by I could have build me a custom box....so if I go this route what do you guys think on a box? It will be my everyday driver and im just lookn for some hard hitn bass, for all tyeps of music but mainly hip/hop, rap....not to concerned with db numbers. I know you guys have played with many different boxes and tuning so just point me wh…

Newest production run arrived a few weeks ago -- we changed the output FETs to the same parts the newest 3500Ds are using (more powerful) and made a few other small tweaks. 0.5 ohm performance is now just as good as the v.1 1500D while maintaining the slightly better 1 ohm performance that we had already achieved on the v.2 model. I don't have any 1500D v.1s around the shop right now so I'm using previously tested data : 1500D v.1 POWER : 1970 Watts AMP VOLTAGE (measured) : 49.25 V AMP CURRENT (calculated) : 40 A ACTUAL IMPEDANCE (calculated) : 1.23 ohms SUPPLY VOLTAGE : 12.85 V 1500D v.2 POWER : 2030 Watts AMP VOLTAGE (measured) : 47.4v V AMP CURRENT (calculated) : 42.…

I got some photos of the prototypes in from my factory -- they are looking good. Of course the terminals will be bent down and whatnot in production. The motor is equal to the NeoPro-8 model. The only negative is that I am not sure how pricing will go on these Neo drivers -- Neo prices are going crazy and it may result in the NeoPro drivers rising in price. For reference... I got Neo quotes for my big Neo SPL motor and it was 300% higher than in 2009 -- no joke! BUT I will try to keep making them if possible as people really do enjoy them  We'll probably do some testing in Derrick's ride to see how they do.

  8. So before i decided to put the amp back in the truck after its been out for a year, i decided to just check out the board for shits and giggles, and saw this So i want to get this fixed but I don't have a repair shop near me and it'd cost an arm an a leg to ship it somewhere in the lower 48 to get fixed. If i were to ship it out i might as well just get a new amp, so i'd like to attempt to fix this myself. Idk if the resistors are bad for sure as i cant get to the other side with the dmm to test them. If i could get any kind of help such as where to get parts or anything informative i'd greatly appreciate it. I see on one of the other caps it says "222j 630v" so im pre…

I will upload the video soon... will take a while as it's 9+ minutes long but the results really speak for themselves. We compared against a very well respected 2.5" coil driver rated for 600-watts RMS -- many people do run much more than that to this particular driver. The comparison was done simply to give a reference point. I was wondering if it was just me or if I wasn't even tickling this driver thermally with 800+ watts on tap in my car (SAX-200.4 two channels bridged at 2 ohms)... so the question is now answered -- I really wasn't even close to the thermal limits as this 60 Hz test is brutal with very little excursion. On music where the sub is moving 4-5x more the…

I have two SA12s on a memphis amp giving 1500 watts, Subs are dual 2 ohms and their wired to 2 ohms at the amp. During low notes I hear a pop from the woofers, only one woofer, never two pops. Just one pop every second or so during low bass. Pulled the subs out and nothing looks wrong. Felt the cone after some long play time and it's cold so it's not thermal. No distortion at all either. So is the sub bottoming out?

I have a Saz1500v.2 that I bought here off SSA less than a year ago. Well last night I noticed my sub just quit playing. After looking at it the red "protection" light is on and it just stays that way. Weird thing is I was actually listening to music on a normal mid level, gain remote knob all the way down and purposely trying to not really hear the sub because I was listening to a rock song trying to adjust my mids. Then when I went to add the sub back in it just wasnt there. I thought the knob was broke but I guess not. Amp was cold to the touch when it stopped working. What can I do from here. Thanks

  23. unfortunately, after re-installing my car audio I found my sundown amp going into protect. It goes into protect immediately; the power light turns on about 1-2 secs later; 5 seconds later the two relays marked with a purple X close/open(click)...; unhooked from speaker; I found manufacture damages that were covered in glue, marked in black; red. In pink there is some rubbing damage to the winding; no metal caps blown; the plastic ones which the top may have some give; each one can depress at-least a mm or so. That's all I can tell visually. I cannot smell burnt electronics; nor are any burns prevalent on top of the board. I've built small circuits and studied them a lot;…
