Sundown Audio

I plan on running 2 15 Sundown Nightshades on a Sundown 3500 getting ready to build me a new enclosure and was wondering what the key was to be able to pull bad *** hair tricks and if its even possible with 2 15s. The set up will be subs up port back in a 2 door blazer. I heard that port are was the key. Figured I would have 105 in of port area tuned at 36hz. All suggestions are welcome.

I am contemplating purchasing a single Sundown Zv4 15 for my two door 2000 Honda Civic EX. I recently cut out nearly the entire back-dash area behind the back seats and below the back window turning the car into a pseudo-hatchback as it is more or less a project car at this point. My first question is what sort of enclosure would be recommended for this particular install. I have heard that sub up port back towards the trunk works well and considering I should have little to no "trunk" left to rattle I figure this would work good for me. I have also heard of sealing off the trunk with sub and port facing forward into the cabin but I do not wish to compete or achieve high …

Due to your high-end products, I'm wondering if there are any production ideas involving multi-channel amplifiers a year or two down the road. Possibly a 150.4, 200.4 or maybe even a 5 channel? If so I would be greatly interested!

Yep... you read that correctly. Big bad boy 200x4 Class A/B amps with full SAX-100.4D style crossovers. Stable to 1 ohm mono / 2 ohms bridged... can power a whole system. These things are MASSIVE... I know the trend is for small amps but I like big amps, and so do alot of people still These are not made for typical daily installs... they are made for BIG builds! * It is actually larger than an SAZ-3500D. * Another shot vs. SAZ-3500D ----- Before anyone asks... there is no ETA, I don't know when I'm going to open a pre-order, and pricing is not 100% set. I was pokein around the net and I read that sundown, IA, RD and Stetsom all use the EXACT same boards built by a build house out of china named ZENON. This company is supposed to make High end boards for these companies. So my question is...I have a few grand cash for my next amp why should I go with sundown when RD and IA are less if they are the same?

As previously discussed I'm working on a 1000-watt line -- I've had motor samples for some time... now I have full samples with production equivalent soft parts on the way. As of now I still have work to do in order to dial the specs in just right -- I have another coil / gap variation to test with. I am getting a pair of samples as they sit in to test with the soft parts then I'll be testing the last variation... then likely will be ready to start making 12s at that time. So I am going the way of Sundown for a single 12 in my Honda Fit. However my skills as far as enclosure design for ported are poop. My maximum external dimensions are 38"Wx18"Dx21"H, I would like to keep the enclosure as small as possible on the Width side, my current dual 10 ported box is 27"W. I also would like to shoot for 2 cuft after displacement, tuned at 30-33Hz. I have all the tools/skills to build the box just lack the mathematical skills to actually calculate it up (yeah sad i know). I selected a SA-8 as a Demo sub for my community. It happens that the majority have small cars, children, & want to save some trunk space shopping. also they listened to a wide genre not just rap. overall they want to hear nice sounding bass (quality more than output). Can someone advised me ideas and experince using an SA-8 for SQ applications. so far my design is to used 1 3 inch aeroport on 1cu/ft net box on 30hz. it will be powered by saz-1500 at 2ohms If you have any ideas & experience on this kind of appilcication. feel free to let me know before I start.
