My next build will consist of 4 SA-8's with whichever coil options I need to see either a 1 ohm or 2 ohm final imp. Box will be 2.4^3 net tuned to 32Hz subs up port back. I already have an AP15001D so I could get a second and make an AP30001D. Would be cheaper than the AQX2500.1, but I don't know if the 8's will take 750 a piece daily. I know the AQX2500.1 would be pushing it already. I have ran double rms to an AA Chaos 15 with my AP15001D without any problems. So I know how to watch my system for signs of stress and properly control my volume and gain. Electrical will consist of 140 amp HO Alt, Optima Red Top under the hood, Big 3 in 1/0, 1 run of 2/0 positive from fro…

Hey guys i know this might be a dumb question but what are the diffences between the nightshade and the Z? What does each sub excel at? I hear alot of people saying very good things about the nightshades but not much info is floating around about the Z. I see that both are rated at 1500wrms(im sure they take way more), is one a SQ sub and the other SPL or a combination of both. Any help would be appreciated, thanks

Again, Posting some high quality pics for anyone who is interested and can't find any on the web. I will update this thread when it is installed in my vehicle, but that may be a week or two. SAZ-2500 Will be pushing four of my VVX-12's. Can't wait!! Amp is a great size as well for the power it packs. PS - Don't mind the watermarks, they are for my web store and what not, don't want them flying around the web

System: (3) SA-8 D4's Phoenix Gold ZX600.2 titanium. (1200W @ 2 Ohm bridged) Looking for help designing the box for these bad boys. I've don't see any information on the Sundown site regarding recommended volumes / port sizes / tuning, so here I am... I've played with WinISD some, and basically decided to tune it somewhere around 33 Hz. For those of you that have these bad boys, what tuning do you run, what volume of box, and how many subs? For my build I'm thinking of going with .6 cubes per sub (chambered box) with a slotted port that is 5" x .75" x 16" (slot port inside dimensions). From what WinISD tells me this should be sufficient to run @ 33 Hz tuning, but I want i…

Ok so I am helping my friend build a system for his truck and we are planing on doing one of those under seat enclosures. I wanted to know if just one or two 4" aero ports will be enough to let the sa-8 breath. I think two would work great but my friend wants me to get a second opinion.

Yes yet again another design is underway! and yes i have switched from 2- 15inch NS v1 to 2-12inch NS v1 here is a first look at the new box! it is a 6th order taped horn! this one will be fun to build for sure! A guy named Jud is designing the box for me as i am useless for designing box's as you can see in my last few posts so i found a professional.. yes i gave up! lol! i also have another idea on tap that i will share later one! so anyways here we go! tell me what you thing and yes subs are revese mounted so the as's end is firing into the cabin!

Ok i am still tryin to get the math down and figure out what would be the best overall enclosure . I want a wide range of response and to be loud as well. I know going with a high tune will most likely produce high spl levels but this is not a competion box. I am not interested in serious sq but want it to be musical and not really peaky I have some box specs and would like some help in deciding if the box will work for what i want width- 47in height- 21in depth-14in port width-3.5 port lenght1-9.75 port lenght2-3 port area -68 volume 5.6cubes tuned 35htz

Hello all, My question is as follows: When utilizing the RCA output on an amp, such as the 125.2 or 50.4, how is the outputted signal affected by the crossover and gain settings of the amp it is coming from? For example, if I were to use a 50.4 to run tweeters and mid range, and then I wanted to utilize the RCA out of the 50.4 to connect a 125.2 which I would use to run mid-bass. Will the RCA out of the 50.4 only pass the higher frequency signals that it is set for to run the speakers connected to it, or will it simply pass the signal through that it is receiving from the head unit? Thanks for all of the input in advance!!!!

Ok I have a saz1500d and a ns v.1 12 inch sub. Box is currently 1.45 cubes after sub displacement and current port. Port is a single 4inch aeroport which is as long as can be without touching sub, don't remember actual length, however, I do know I punched it into the port calculator on 12volt.com and it was 38.3 hz roughly. I want to bring it down to about 32-34hz. My question is would it make a big difference if I used a 3inch port with my flared ends of my 4inch aeroport? Or should I just go with two 2 inch aeroports. I would like to use what I have currently but wanted some answers to this question. Second question, should I just keep what I have since its a hig…

ok to start off i have a 99 s10 ext cab, with a false floor in the back, under it is a saz 2K, and a 125.2. i started with only about 1" of air space above the amps before the floor, then i found out the 125.2 was getting soo hot i could not even touch it, but would never go into thermal (protect). also that was getting that hot within a 10-15min drive. i also found that it only got hot at high volumes. so today i raised the floor up 3/4" i have about 2" of air space now above the 125.2, i also added right beside the amp blowing over it, a 120mm and a 80mm fan, on the other end of the floor i have a single 80mm blowing over my 2K, as i found it really didnt get that hot. …

We got bored a few minutes after close and decided we were going to smoke a pair of mechanically damaged SA-8s -- well it turned out to be harder than we suspected to thermal these little guys... even the 2" coil SA-8 was able to out-last the Type-R 12" that we tested - I am pretty satisfied with that. Video comment : "Comes online at 69v/9.5A=655 watts so 325 each... crank it up a bit and land at 81.5v/10.5A=855 watts so ~427 each. All the way down at 3 minutes we are still at 82.6v/9.16A=756 watts... we keep playing nice until 5 full minutes elapsed at right around rated power levels then crank it up all the way to 115v/12.5A=1437 watts or 718 each !!! Then continued to…

This is my first post in this wonderful forum so please pardon my ignorance. I just got two saz 2500d's and wow what an awesome piece of design. I wanna run these two amps strapped together and Ive seen the diagram for how to hook them up. My only trouble is does one have to gain match the amps? I know that the one amp is the slave to the other and uses the settings from the master amp but no where it says about the gain. Thanks in advance and all b happy to post the outcome of these two bad boys strapped together.

Well I was part of the pre-order and been having all my equipment for a while. I installed it about two months ago and I'm just getting a chance to post some pictures. I am not completely satisfied with the box. I wanted to get something made quickly so the woofers weren't just sitting around. I had a local box builder build it and he built it to fit under the seat. I told him I want the optimal box so if I needed I could raise the seat but I guess he figured he would work with what I already had. My buddy has two of these on the same set-up and his box is almost twice as loud. My box size is .667 cu ft w/o the woofer displacement (i didn't know it) with a port size of 1.…
