Sundown Audio

Just a quick question. I am on a quest trying to create a small enclosure for my small Jetta trunk and still have usable space. Slot port enclosures take up a lot of room that a standard Aero Port doesn't. Would a single 4" Aero Port tuned to the right length, be enough for two SA-10s in a reccommended specification enclosure powered by a SAX-1200D?

Okay.. I might be able to snag a pair of these 10w7 for a decent price. However, I am worried that because they are single 3 ohm coils, then I will not be able to run them efficiently on the Sundown amps. The 10w7 is rated at 750 watts rms each at 3 ohms. What are some amp and wiring configurations that would work for me? I'd like to give them their recommended power, but the JL website shows that the subs don't like to handle more than 750 watts continuous as it gets to the black line (warranty voided). This might be a dumb question but I'll go ahead and ask. I was tuning my 1200d for the first itme this morning and before I could reach the 35v suggested voltage with the DMM, the amp started making a faint popping, buzzing sound. My target volume is 21/35 and the noise appeared at about 13/35. The noise went away as I turned it down. I'm running 1/0 gauge from front to db block and a run of 4 ga for 5' to the amp. BTW, no db gain was used and the remote gain was at 1/2 with susbsonic set a 28hz a x-over set at 1/2 as stated in manual. Anyone experience this before?

anyone know all of them? i really need to know the displacement of one for the different boxes i am looking at building. thanks

Finally got everything in, and it is DAMN loud! Box will stay bare MDF until I get my Sundown SAZ-3500D, as its a pain in the ass to pull the box out. Setup did a 148.2 @ 50hz, even though I peaked @ 42hz. Problem was I did not have any other tones on hand, so obviously this setup is doing more than a 148.2. Hopefully next time I can get accurate results

I have 2 SSA Icon 15s and wanted to know if I should get the 1000, 1200, or 1500. I read on here that it if I have a bigger box then I will need less power and also that the 1200 can out out as much power as the 1500 on a normal, daily, unstrapped setup. Would there be much of a audible difference if I use the 1000 rather than the 1200 or 1500? 2 SSA Icons 15s 8 cuft ported box tuned to 32hz **I know everyone will say 1500 but I m thinking about the price as well and would it be worth spending hundreds more for a little change. I was leaning towards the 1200 because of the power it can give out or the 1000 because I have a big box and need less power.

Two Stinger SPV-70 Batteries / 40-amp Power Supply / 8 awg wire power and Ground (this amp should have 4 awg) Wired to 1 ohm nominal : 1170 Watts @ 12.5 volts 1.97 ohms after impedance rise Wired to 0.5 ohm nominal : 1490 Watts @ 11.1 volts 0.85 ohms after impedance rise --- Measured with my Extech True RMS power clamp meter several seconds into the tone @ 60 Hz -- this typically reads about ~15-16% less than a "dual peak hold" amp clamp test. We'll do some more testing with a more adequate power wire coming up soon. The test bench 4 awg has the ends tinned so is a bit too big to go into the SAX-1200D terminals -- will need to get it in a vehicle.

I was playing my system today which consists of two SAZ-3000d's strapped together @2 ohms. I was messing with some settings in my HU and it was just slammin. All of a sudden it cuts off so I turn the system off and let it sit for a little bit. Turned it back on and it still doesn't play thought I blew the fuse. When I finally get home I check the amp and the slave amp goes into protect. I know that the link RCA sometimes causes problems but now whenever it turns on it immediately goes into protection. I tried disconnecting the link RCA and turn it on and still goes into protect. Right now I disconnected both power and ground to let it sit disconnected for a while…

I was wonder have any testing been done on the SAX 100.2 and SAX 100.4. I about to become a dealer and I'm really in to great multi channel amps and I'm building a SQ comp car now and using DLS ultimate amps. I would just like to now want the real world output of these amps are, seeing how much headroom is built into the sub amps. Thanks for all the help in advance.

I could not hold up the daily driver of Sundown in the netherlands. If you can see its a little peugeot 206 sw. i need the space and i need the bass. Lots of family cars overhere struglle to get there wifes over the edge for a good install . I just made a amp floor and its a inch of space higher then original. 2x 1500 v.1 and a 100.4 aktive on the DDA compo in front. A DDLE factory box and a nice SA 10 inch woofer. In the front a xs power 60 ah. db drag style tl on the window Wish me luck to sell a lot of Sundown overhere.
