I was driving home from my girls house listening to some of decafs songs I just downloaded and all a sudden my slave amp turned off, I reset my head unit seeing if it was some freak accident and it'd turn back on, but it didn't, so I continued driving home with my head unit off, with it being so late I didn't have the energy to do a lot of trouble shooting. Both amps are grounded in the same spot and share the same remote wire. I checked both 300 amp fuses and they didn't look blown, the remote wire didn't come loose and fall out. What do I need to do to fix this problem? Thanks, Dom

I am going to make the official announcement now that we are sold out of new SAZ-2000Ds -- yes, I am in fact sold out... a few used ones remain but that is it. To replace it I am developing an SAZ-2500D model. This is a new board tooling for Sundown and is ours in the USA exclusively just like the SAZ-3500D. Just a HAIR larger than the SAZ-2000D and over 500 watts more power is expected from it. I am excited about it -- more details will be available once I have the prototype in hand. This evens out the amp line to 1500, 2500, 3500, and 4500 so there is not such a large gap from the 2000 to the 3500. It is too early for ETAs or pricing... but I will do a pre-order once te…

Since db-r does not have their forum here I figured I would post this in the Sundown forum. Feel free to move it if you like. I was looking for a 3000 watt amp and checked the db-r web sight and saw they were having a sale on their referb amps. I had some questions and emailed Chris those questions. He responed quickly and assured me I was not only getting an excellent amp, but was getting the customer service got go with it if I were to have any issues in the future. I just ordered it a couple hours ago and look foward to its arrival. Thus far I am very happy with the service I received from Chris at db-r today. I will update upon it's arrival and install.

$60 + shipping each regardless of quantity Need to make room in the warehouse so price is 1/2 what I was originally asking. --- I bought out all of the QC failed SI BM 10s (old models) and re-built them with several changes: 1) Slightly longer flat-wound coil (original was round wire) - USA made coils 2) Narrower / Taller Surround 3) Tied down tinsel leads Measured T/S Specs (coils in series): RE: 6.89 ohms Z: 8 ohms Fs: 27.2 Hz Qes: 0.56 Qms: 3.32 Qts: 0.48 Le: 2.8 mH Vas: 31.1 L BL: 16.2 NA Mms: 124 grams Power: 400 watts RMS 0.95 ft^3 SEALED BOX - F3 of 41 Hz 1.5 ft^3 ported tuned to 30 - 35 Hz for high output I have about 40 of these... Well, my TL finally came back so put the truck on the meter... my head hurts even with ear plugs AND hearing protective head phones on. First go @ the TL after finding the peak of 48 hz: Legal mic position too: Take a look at my collection of Powermaster D3100s, seven at this time: Used to power four SAZ-3000Ds: Dual Powermaster alternators for the win: While taking that last pic I realized that I forgot to tighten the ground on the top alternator... so I did so and run the truck again: ---- Not too bad! Now... it's time to get tweaking

Pre-Orders for the SD-1 v.2 are open now. I expect to have them before the end of the year. The pre-order will go on until December 14th (extended from the 7th). DESCRIPTION: These subs will throw down in very small enclosures and will now handle much more power than the original SD-1. Ideal for shallow truck enclosures! They utilize a single 6" diameter magnet slug to achieve the necessary flux. Behind the cone you will find a progressive roll spider and a special treatment applied to the back of surround and upper lip of the cone to get more stability from the surround and to bring the Mms to where it needed to be. The leads are offset out to the sides and slightly rais…

my orig plan was to run 5 SA8's, i already own 2, so i know how they preform. But im also wondering if i should do 2 sa 12's instead? they will be running off a saz2k, and im willing to run down to .5ohm daily or at 1 ohm. these will be in a s10 ext cab. running 4" aero ports. i know its hard to figure out what would be better, just need some more help deciding. I listen to mostly just music off the tunez section, low bangers.

I ran into wat i think is a big problem today. here is wat my system consists of: one 15" audiopulse sub on a Sundown 3000D, and an Alpine PDX-5 with goldwood speakers I was drivin down the road, took a sharp turn and all the sudden my sub made a very loud thump sound and then the amp shut off. So i turned everythin off until i got where i was goin and checked it out. I popped the trunk to check my circuit breaker and it was still closed. then i noticed one of the batteries in my trunk had moved. What im pretty sure happened was when i took the turn, the batt tilted and the terminal on the negative post hit both the pos and neg bolts attatching my speaker wire to the sub …

So... the SA-8 is pretty badass... but I want something louder. Starting on this project : Yep... a Neo 8 with a 3" coil and 22mm linear one-way excursion (that is XBL^2 that you see) and x-mech of 27mm on the frame I'll be utilizing. Will handle around 1000-watts RMS without much trouble thermally and mechanically. Tooling new spiders and cones just for this driver. Going to see how it turns out... but simulation predicts motor force more than 300% higher than the SA-8 if all turns out according to plan. I am designing it for myself primarily as I want to do 157s with four 8s... but I think others will enjoy them too =) Pricing will be a bit higher than an NS v.2 due t…

Okay... so this has been under wraps for a while, but it's time to talk about it now. These will probably be coming out around the same time as the SAZ-3000D so I'll let out some information now! A few small changes may happen before release but this is the idea. A joint venture between Stereo Integrity and Sundown Audio, the "Sundown Audio Integrity E12" subwoofer. Dropped it in my Civic, with no engine at this time, and pulled 140.0 dB @ 51 Hz without any tweaking of any kind and in a rigged up box that used to be sealed for two 12" woofers... A few pics of the whole deal: * The E12 next to the Nightshade 15" woofer * The E12 chilling out in the Civic. It was 1 dB lou…

It is here ! Some comparisons to the SAZ-2000D model below. * Sitting Next to SAZ-2000D Model (2500D to the right) * Another angle - you can see the 2500D is only about 1" bigger (2500D on top) * SAZ-2000D Transformer : ~59.5mm * SAZ-2500D Transformer : ~64.5mm -- hard to tell in the photo but this adds a good bit of size overall to the unit * SAZ-2000D Output Inductor : ~47.5mm * SAZ-2500D Output Inductor : ~53.9mm -- significantly larger as the output section is equal to the old 3000D --- I'll be doing power testing as time allows and then some solid abuse testing. Once all of this is complete we can start production and offer a pre-sale.

I know it is said a 100 times a day... "with impedance rise you are going to be over 1 ohm anyway" when talking about a half ohm load or lower on a daily system. Sure... if you constantly played individual sine waves one at a time. But, is that what music is? --- http://www.audiograph.se/subpages/technical/whatmakesagoodamplifier.htm "The upper graph illustrates the conventional way of measuring the loudspeaker impedance. The lower graph illustrates the dynamical approach. We took a commercial ’off-the shelf’ loudspeaker and did a standard impedance plot for it. We swept the frequency from 20 Hz to 20 kHz, measured the input voltage and current, and calculated the impeda…
