Sundown Audio

Well finally I have my Sundown SAZ 3000D hooked up in the Blazer. 1 Fi BTL 15 Dual Mag in a small but perfect box tuned to 35hz 1red yop and 1yellow top Optima batteries Question is How do I test my amp? What are the various ways I might find out the output? Watts? Amperes? Don't I need a special clamp meter? Any suggetions on what kinds and maybe some links. How do I set the gains on my amp correct? I've done it by ear so that nothing is distorting and everything is real clear. But isn't there a better way? Thanks for ANY HELP in advance! ~Joe

I have a Nissan 350Z and I have ordered a 180amp HO alternator from Ohio Gen to go along with a Kinetik HC1400 under the hood. Do you think that'll be sufficient to power one SAZ-1500D (1ohm 1500W), one SAX-100.4 (bridged 320Wx2), and one SAX-100.2 (stereo 100Wx2)? I already have the "Big 3" done as well. I refuse to run Capacitors so please don't even bother suggesting one.

ive got a optima yellow top up front a nd two n the back by my box.im fixn to order a 200 amp alternator but was wondering if i need to get a battery isolator.will that help or what.i need some feedback on this.thanks everybody

Was hoping I could use the stock frame and I was able to do so! Just had to adapt it a bit... one of our spider bolt down rings worked perfectly for the job. This woofer has 3 Hard Nightshade spiders, a Z v.2 prototype D2 coil (tight gap so NS coil would not fit), and a light weight cone similar to the Z v.1 but with a wide roll surround. Hey jacob will there be a SA -18 coming?

i will be redoing my install in a few months and wanted to know if maybe i can color match the amps with the color of the car... not really gonna be going to shows just a personal preference, i think the amps would look sick painted... new set up will be 2 15 ns, 2 1500s, and a 100.4, the box is getting built by pete which we havent worked on the details yet but he stated that we might go the horn route... i have a good bit of room to work with, enclosure space to work with is 16 high, 42 wide, and 30 deep... also i have a ohio gen 180/225 alt and getting a d3100 to replace my 2 dekas ( which i plan on selling).

Im getting my Jeep Grand Cherokee ths friday. then gotta save up for sound system. im trying to get 2 18" NS v.2.. But idk if i need dual 1 or 2ohm. this will be for daily use(only listen to rap) and the occasional comp(maybe). 2 saz2500? 1 saz4500? i really dont know which would be best. Im in MOORESVILLE,NC, so i know a lot of people on this board are near here. Even the sundown audio warehouse!! lol.. i met jacob and a lot of the team members back in march in daytona for SBN. Just a quick question. I am on a quest trying to create a small enclosure for my small Jetta trunk and still have usable space. Slot port enclosures take up a lot of room that a standard Aero Port doesn't. Would a single 4" Aero Port tuned to the right length, be enough for two SA-10s in a reccommended specification enclosure powered by a SAX-1200D?

How do you become part of team sundown? Always wonder'd.... Of course you have to have something of sundowns to be apart, but is it jus simply that or is it more?

Today I was doing some testing on a new setup and I got some incredible #s out of my Sundown 1500d. It was running @ 0.5ohm pushing a pair of d2 Kicker cvr 15s. A 50hz test tone was used. The output voltage was 42.2v and the clamp meter read 64.1a of current output. Thats 2700watts w/ rise to 0.65 ohms. I couldn't believe it so I moved the clamp and dmm to the input side and got 315a of current draw w/ voltage dropping from 14.3v to 12.8v. 315a * 12.8v = 2700watts of ouput @ 67% efficiency. Wat do you guys think would be louder and better option for my camaro ? I have the power for either and about 3.5 cubes for the box after displacement Wats the max guys are running on these new 8s i have heard some where around 800 rms but i would throw around 500 rms to each just wondering if i should invest in these subs Thanks Guys

yo guys. im still patiently waiting on my 2000d to come out of preorder but till then im tryin to get everything else. the memphis mojos that i want arent in stock now. so my question is, how do the 12'' ssa icon compare to the mojos?? and how much RMS do they push? is the 2000d sufficient to power 2 of them? D1 or D2? their in the same price range. so im wondering if should try them out instead. please give your opinions thanks

I have an 01 firebird and Im looking into getting a ported box built for a single SA-8 D4. There is a space in the driver side trunk area where the factory cd changer used to be, im hoping to use this space. I will not be competing in anything, just want it to sound good for daily use. What size should the enclosure be, port length and what should it be tuned to for everyday use. If there is any other info I need to know before bringing it to the builder, Im all ears. Thanks,

If I wire 2 subs down each dual d1 coils down to 2 ohms meaning each sub is wired down to 2 ohms does the amp bridge that internally to 1 ohm..

So I have been browsing several different subs the last few weeks to go with my Sae-1200d. This sub seems like it might be right up my alley, But I am wondering when it will be available, and the price point?

Built a box for a guy, he put a little sub in it on a Sundown SAX 100.2 bridged at 4 ohms and took a couple videos for me. I figured I'd share them. I've said it before, the 100.2, while being the smallest current offering, is my favorite amp. A single DD 1008 on a 100.2 bridged at 4 ohms. Tuned low, especially for an 8, but still managed to do a 132.9 on music out of a trunk, and the back seats don't fold down.

Runs on 240v AC -- supplying 260 amps continuous current set to 14.8v Hooked up to some Stinger SPV-70s... need to get one more in there. Should do quite well... this replaces our prior setup of three Pyramid 40-amp units (only one recently as we blew up the other two). We went through those on a regular basis... this should be more reliable and much more power than we had before.
