Sundown Audio

I have an 01 firebird and Im looking into getting a ported box built for a single SA-8 D4. There is a space in the driver side trunk area where the factory cd changer used to be, im hoping to use this space. I will not be competing in anything, just want it to sound good for daily use. What size should the enclosure be, port length and what should it be tuned to for everyday use. If there is any other info I need to know before bringing it to the builder, Im all ears. Thanks,

So, I have a 2006 VW GTI that needs a system. Plans, so far, as follows: Dynavox 8" Midbass driver (~60 - ~250 Hz)* DLS Iridium IR3 midrange (~375 - ~3000 hz) DLS Iridium IR1 tweeter (~3000 Hz and up) * I may opt to use Morel HU9.1s or a VIFA 8s -- still brain storming here. Has to be shallow at no more than 3.5" depth so I'm a bit limited. Crossover points subject to adjustment. Slopes will likely be as follows: Dyanvox - 24 dB HP / 12 dB LP DLS IR3 - 36 dB HP / 12 dB LP DLS IR1 - 12 dB HP Subject to tuning. yo guys. im still patiently waiting on my 2000d to come out of preorder but till then im tryin to get everything else. the memphis mojos that i want arent in stock now. so my question is, how do the 12'' ssa icon compare to the mojos?? and how much RMS do they push? is the 2000d sufficient to power 2 of them? D1 or D2? their in the same price range. so im wondering if should try them out instead. please give your opinions thanks

im wonderin what the specs will be on this amp as far as how many watts at what ohm. and i plan on gettin 2 BTL's so what VC config would i get them in and hoiw would i wire them??

So here's one of the shop run-around cars we managed to snag up a few months ago... an Audi a4 sedan the trunk is pretty much sealed off from the cabin with a full metal diviader with 10by12 ski hatch box is a bit over 2 cubes, tuned to 26Hz Stock bat under the hood Shok Reference 0awg to the back 2 SA10 d2's SAX1200D @ 0.5 ohms very flat from 22 to 37Hz Playing some music Now we add an XS Power D680, a nice 20Ah bat Scores went up and Vic - who designed and made this box this is a great box for music and playing lows...lots of flex and even moves decent air

I was wonder have any testing been done on the SAX 100.2 and SAX 100.4. I about to become a dealer and I'm really in to great multi channel amps and I'm building a SQ comp car now and using DLS ultimate amps. I would just like to now want the real world output of these amps are, seeing how much headroom is built into the sub amps. Thanks for all the help in advance.

Today I was doing some testing on a new setup and I got some incredible #s out of my Sundown 1500d. It was running @ 0.5ohm pushing a pair of d2 Kicker cvr 15s. A 50hz test tone was used. The output voltage was 42.2v and the clamp meter read 64.1a of current output. Thats 2700watts w/ rise to 0.65 ohms. I couldn't believe it so I moved the clamp and dmm to the input side and got 315a of current draw w/ voltage dropping from 14.3v to 12.8v. 315a * 12.8v = 2700watts of ouput @ 67% efficiency. Runs on 240v AC -- supplying 260 amps continuous current set to 14.8v Hooked up to some Stinger SPV-70s... need to get one more in there. Should do quite well... this replaces our prior setup of three Pyramid 40-amp units (only one recently as we blew up the other two). We went through those on a regular basis... this should be more reliable and much more power than we had before.

First off, thanks to Jacob of Sundown Audio for letting me review this driver I always like listening to lower-power woofers in the 2-300W range, because these smaller drivers show that especially when musical accuracy is concerned, you don't need the multi-kW behemoths that are becoming commonplace these days. Just 300W and a small sealed enclosure is often times all you need to realistically reproduce most anything you can throw at it.
