You told me that my SAE-1200D would not go "Thump" when powering down and you held true to that. Absolutely no noise what so every. It is perfect and for that, I thank you. BUT....as for the power rating I have to call BS. No way no how. I turned this thing on and it scared the chit out of me. I'm running two sealed 12" TC-9's and I thought they were going to fly out of the box. I had always felt happy with my Hifonics 1606D with it's 1600 watt rating but this 1200 puts it to shame. I was running the Hifonics at 3/4 gain and the 1200D is at 1/3 gain and I'm still turning my processor levels down. With my upgraded Alternator my voltage stays at 14.4 even at an idle so I k…

The SAZ-3500D is the successor to our extremely popular SAZ-3000D model. It is not only more powerful but even more reliable than the SAZ-3000D based on years of research in the SPL lanes and in the hands of regular customers. You will not find a better 3500-watt Class-D amplifier anywhere! Sundown Audio only recommends this amplifier for experienced users with an upgraded alternator and additional batteries due to the enormous power output potential. Hello Jacob, I have 4 XS Power D3100 as secondary batts and a Yellow Top under the hood and a DC Power 320 amp alternator (strongest the company makes for me) and both of my SAZ-3500Ds are going into protect when I compete.…

I am leaving January 4th and returning the 12th -- so will be back to work on the 13th or so. While I am gone some orders that can simply be boxed and shipped will be completed -- customized items, re-cones, etc will wait until I get back. Some staff will be here but operation will be at limited capacity.

I will be out of town from January 7th to 17th this year for CES and another business trip on the west coast. I will be back to work on January 18th. I will answer as many e-mails as possible but do not be surprised if you don't get a response for a while -- while I am gone the shop will be staffed but some things that I am still working on training others to do will have to wait until I get back or at the least take much longer to get done. You can still reach Brandon or Debbie by e-mail for sales and tech questions : [email protected] -- Tech Questions, Misc Questions. [email protected] -- Ordering Questions Oddball orders for strange parts or stuff from th…

Planning to run this setup for nSPL Finals this weekend... needed to stay under 5000 watts on the nSPL clamp meters. On my meter it clamped exactly 4000 watts last night which should be 4700-5000 on their clamps. Tuning is in the high 30s and peaks at 47 Hz... tuned to 30 Hz and also peaking at 47 Hz it was about 1.8 dB quieter but still not bad at all, IMO. I plan to try cutting the ports down a bit more to see if I can get a tad more from it on the meter... may or may not get that done before the Finals event. Best score with just me in the Jeep was 153.8 and with Nick from Stereo Integrity in it as well we got 154.0 dB -- sealed on the dash. * One SAZ-4500D chilling o…

Got this truck through some horse trading... current setup was tested to do 154.3 dB @ 61 Hz with two Z15s and a clamped power of 5000 watts total. I want a more efficient setup so I am tearing it all down! Some pics of the current setup with the cap off and starting to tear down : Old wall has a great baffle - 7 layers thick - but the outside is too thin. It is one layer of MDF with super dense foam sandwiched between that and a thin layer of wood (I had that peeled off before the pics). It does have concrete above the front chamber, though, so that is not too bad. All in all I think it could be better so I am going to rip it out!

I'd figure i would post it instead of calling or emailing you jake anyways here is the question lets say i got two 3000D's and 2 15" subs dual 2ohm What would is the difference (if any) between a. 2 3000D's strapped to the subs (take the subs wire them to 1ohms and put the amps strapped) b. 2 3000D's one on each sub @ 1ohm each (take the subs wire them to 1 ohm and put an amp on each) I get this question quite often I would think that the strapped pair would have the advantage of equal gain control.. but is there a power advantage over another as well as an efficiency advantage

I am going out of town for an extended business trip on July 23rd -- I will be returning August 5th. I am the only one that will be gone; everyone else will still be here. That DOES mean that I will temporarily close down ordering of Refurbished Woofers and the Yard Sale while I am away since I manage those two projects myself. That DOES NOT mean anything else will be majorly affected. The entire rest of the staff will still be here -- but please avoid sending messages directly to me at "sundownz" or "jacob" e-mails as I will have very limited responses during those dates.

Finally got everything in, and it is DAMN loud! Box will stay bare MDF until I get my Sundown SAZ-3500D, as its a pain in the ass to pull the box out. Setup did a 148.2 @ 50hz, even though I peaked @ 42hz. Problem was I did not have any other tones on hand, so obviously this setup is doing more than a 148.2. Hopefully next time I can get accurate results

Glad I didn't sell the ol' Jeep... I took a small portion of the day to actually mess around with my own setup so I don't go crazy and hate stereos *laughs* I am building the back battery / amp rack for a forward firing SSNW setup and I was initially scared that it would hurt my scores with the Magic Box until I start on that -- of course I haven't clamped power yet... but this is the best score I've ever done with an SA-15. What I'm using is a Dual-2 copper coil SA-15 that I used to measure T/S for the official spec sheet I made -- this one is identical to the production run due next month; which only differs from what we sell now in that it has a shorting ring and a dif…

The remote gain control for the SAZ 1500D. The cable that connects to the amp. Is it special or can I use any cable with RJ11 ends?

ok, so i've got a saz1500d, i'm going to get a chevy impala 00-04, i gave the gf the type r 12"s i originally had in my lincoln towncar, i'm thinking single 15" for the next set-up so i can give it the box space it needs. would a single nightshade 15" w/1500 rms in an optimal vented and tuned enclosure put me in the mid to high 140's?

I recently just purchased a sae-1200. I was wondering for future reference on a bigger subwoofer than I have. Would I be able to strap 2 of the sae-1200's without having to purchase a bigger amp? Thanks, Dover.

Jacob, I just wanted to thank you for having the vision and the balls to make amps like yours. I have enough power to make the Fiancee tell me I am rediculous without even having to really turn up the bass. I truly treasure my SAZ-3000. I am just waiting for better componants so I can actually turn the gain on my 100.4 up a bit and see what she will REALLY do. But that as always costs $$$ Thanks again, Jordan

Ok, so I'm going complete Sundown in my setup. And I am excited to receive the order. However, being more business savy then with certain car audio things.... I need some community help! I had no problem actually constructing a sealed box, however these 12's need to go ported, and after trying to use a few different port calculators I am lost. We all have our areas . Can someone please design a box for me? I will post the dimensions it needs to be shortly! Thank you very much Kevin
