so there's a show this weekend. getting tired of everybody talkin stuff about my sundown audio stuff cause they never heard of the name. i need to change my setup so i can win this show. my box is about 3.3 with 3 of the dual 4 sa12s. i running a 3000d @ 2.6 i have two options. either port my box i already have to stay behind the third row. or flip the seats up and build a 6 cube ported box just for the show. if i port my box i already have how high would i need to tune it. i need a mid 140's for this weekend. last show they held guy won it with a 139 or something. and i might add he had 4 15s in a box not tuned for the speakers. also would it be safe to wire it in par…

my orig plan was to run 5 SA8's, i already own 2, so i know how they preform. But im also wondering if i should do 2 sa 12's instead? they will be running off a saz2k, and im willing to run down to .5ohm daily or at 1 ohm. these will be in a s10 ext cab. running 4" aero ports. i know its hard to figure out what would be better, just need some more help deciding. I listen to mostly just music off the tunez section, low bangers.

Some of you may know that I was going to get Sundown X 12s and then decided to get 2 10s because I couldn't fit 2 12s properly since they require a much bigger box and I'm kinda limited on room. I decided to have subs/port facing rear and have my battery and amps up closer to the front and build an amp rack there. I have a box design for the 10s here it is: Sundown recommends a much larger box (1.5-2.0 cubes per 10) to utilize the new surround and suspension. It will get much more excursion then. Also minimum required port area for these 2 10s is 75in2. Well I've been thinking since I have a height of 17 and a width of 34 I could fit 2 15s on the face. However, the…

hi everyone need some advice on a custom built box for a single 12 inch sa-12 2 ohm sub. I'll be building the box with 3/4 mdf wood and the space i have to work with is 41 inches from left to right and 17 inches in depth. the car the sub Will be going in is a 2001 kia sportage ex small size suv and the amp i will be useing is a pyle plad3300d which puts out 1200 to 1300 watts at one ohm. now i never built me a custom vented box before but i have built a few sealed boxes in the past so my skill level for building a vented box is low. the music i listen to is rap and hip hop and my goal is to more daily driving and a little competition so i want the most spl i can get but w…

Ok this is so confusing to me i am confusing myself. So plz hear me out. First of all I am using 2 of these sub http://manuals.harman.com/JBL/CAR/Boxes%20...12GTi_rev_f.pdf Together wired in parallel they make a 1.5 ohm load which what i been told on here thats really 2ohms or a 2ohm amp for max power would be best suited. (parallel/parallel) = 1.5 ohm load Voice coils wired in parallel, speakers wired in parallel Right now I have a sundown 1500d which is 800rms at 2 ohms. I want to buy another 1500d and strap it. My confusion is right here since the sundown does 1500rms at 1 ohm and i decided to strap it what will my final ohm load be. I am hoping that if i strap this a…

Hi I'm in the process of upgrading from my 15" Fi SSD to dual Nighshade v.2 on around 4 K rms. And I'm not so good with designing boxes so I'm asking someone with the talent to help me with a design for my new woofers. I was thinking something made for daily use tuned to 32-33 Hz. The box will be going into a Ford Mondeo hatchback. Tanks for the help

I currently own a 2000 Pontiac grand am gt. the dimensions i could easily fit in my trunk would be 18x12x38. Could you help me design a box for a SA-15 within those dimensions. Need design specifics and/or cut sheets. I was thinking about going with two tens or two twelves but i don't think the space will allow me to do it, any ideas?? But definitely going with SA subs no matter what. Don't have amp yet but will match amp to subs regardless. Please Help

Greetings, gents. I have an interesting goal where failure is not an option. Sparing details, a 'friend' of mine has a pair of DC level 3 10's being driven off a 3500 watt mono block, clamped around 2200. It hit 144 @ 29 hz and this is a rear-firing ported box in a trailblazer. This dude is a tool. Will not shut up about his setup and thinks he's unbeatable. Well again, sparing more details, I want to one-up his ass with 4 SA8's. Not only louder, but I want it to go lower. Here's what I'm working with: 1996 Nissan Altima. The back seat is out and I hope to have the 4 SA8's sealed against the opening for maybe a 4th order? Or ported with just the subs blowin…

I have a SAZ3500D i am going to redo my system and talked with a buddy, he tells me ditch the 18 and get 4 15"D2 nightshades and 4 1500Ds, and take back seat out and build a big ass enclosure for the 4 15s. I dont have a problem doing that but i wanna make sure its what im looking for ,i want to be able to cruise around town and bump and let people hear me before they see me, and feel me when they see me. I told him i would rather do 4 18 nightshade and he said no you need 15s would move more cone area a…

Today my buddy offered to buy my eD Nine.1 and I am really thinking about selling it to him so I can order an sae-1000D. I have a 15" Q no options with a 4 cubic ft box tuned to 30 HZ. I am thinking about it because I was reading a topic a few days ago and they said that they swaped a 9.1 for a sae-1000D and there was a noticible increase in sound quality. I would have bought the sundown had I know about them at the time. I was just curious if you guys thought I might really notice a difference between the two. I may end up doing it just because I would feel more comfortable with the quality of the amp. And I am not really happy with the 9.1's sound quality...it…

Hey everyone, new member here. I was reading up on sundown amps and they seem extremely fantastic for the money. Well anyways, I picked up a set of boston pro60 components. They are rated at 125w rms @ 3 ohm (yes, wtf is it 3 ohm?) Now the problem is that I want to get a nice clean amp to power those components. I dont want to spend outrageous amounts of money either since I've gone WAY over budget already (blew a ton of cash on a p800prs head unit) Now I was thinking about the 100.2 but my concern is that there is not enough power. Also for the ratings I've seen, it goes from 4 to 2 ohm. Should I just use the number in the middle of the two ratings to find out what 3 ohm…

Does the NEO 8 have a typical PA sound or will it make me happy when I dont want my ears to bleed? Also will the mags fit in a 6.5" hole or will I do them injustice(dont want to cut metal). Will there be a big difference in the 8" or the soon to be 6.5" ? SQ and output wise? itchy to get started Thanks

I bought a pair of 10in Neo Pro v2s in 8ohm from WoofersEtc on Amazon. When I received them the box says 8ohm, but the underside of the cone on both of them says 4ohm. I checked them with the multimeter and they both read around 3.8-4ohm. I'm pretty annoyed because I needed an 8ohm load on my amplifier. I'm most definitely not going to pay for shipping to send them back and have new ones sent because the shipping was 40$. I find it odd though that sundown managed to box up and supposedly test these speakers without noticing this. Any ideas on what happened here, and has anyone else had this happen?

Hey Jacob, I was wondering how much excursion is safe with these 10's. On some heavier midbass songs they get goin with maybe a half inch of excursion. Theres no hint of distortion o just want to make sure they were designed to handle this.. Thanks
