Sundown Audio

Both my 1500D & 100.2 is getting hot under normal operation. Not so hot I can't touch 'em but pretty warm. The 1500D is pushing my SS RL-p D2 at 1ohm & my 100.2 is pushing my comp set at 4ohms. I run 1/0 wire to both & they are in an area where they should be getting a sufficient amount of air for cooling. Is this normal or should I be concerned? Thanks guys.

Hi Sundown or whoever can help me. A few questions. What is the main differnces between the new and old amp? How long can a amp be in a shop before it go's bad. The thing is; they dont sell any of these amps as most people here are into SQ. Im just worried I buy the thing and it gives me troubles.

Wish me luck. I have been so busy at work this week that I just started rebuilding last night. Still got to hook up my amps and batteries then its time to test. I have 9 people in my M2 class and 5 in my DB2 class. If the build comes out as good as I hope I should be bringing home a couple of six ft trophies.

all 16 tweets............lol the 16 mids will be powered by 2x 100.2s (8 mids per amp) i was going to get a 100.4 for all 16 tweeters, i think i came up with a 3.3 ohm load per channel (4 mids per channel) each tweet is 3 ohms, DMM reads 3.3 ohms.... what would be the best way to do this? really dont need more than 25w per tweeter at most.

Hey guys, Looks like we lost alot of database information in the upgrade process. I was able to re-post both Sean and Loyd's test results. Purchased two D2 SA-12's about 6 months ago or so. The guy I bought them from bought them in Jan or Feb this year (2010) and they were re-coned with aluminum coils. I've just recently got a new amp and had everything completed then one crapped out on me. One coil is reading 2ohms, the other is around 2.8 and fluctuates. I'm just really disappointed this happen as I never put too much power them then, could it just be a result of a bad recone in the past? I'd like to get this back up and running asap. So Derrick came up today and constructed a box for me for my four SA-8s... still two 1500Ds on one Stinger SPP-1500D and one Stinger SPV-70 battery on Powermaster Charger (car off). We built the box from scrap 5-layer pine plywood for testing... we plan to use birch ply for another version at a later date. Results here :

quick question about running 1 sub to a 1500d. in the owners manual its shows the way to wire 1 sub up a little weird. does it really matter which terminals you use?

Second time ever on a meter First time ever competing and I won first in Street C with 145.9. I got there early this morning and was in the lane qualifying within ten minutes of being there. They gave me a CD and I started at 32hz and just went up 3 tracks at a time within 30 seconds until I got to 48hz. I am still not sure where I peak but 48hz was the only track I played on my other 3 runs. Thanks to Sundown Jerry for his advice. I'm running 6 Sa 8 v2s on 2 1500s in a 6th order in my Tahoe. They sound ok on the low end(28-38hz), but they sound like they have so much more to give. I'm debating switching up enclosures, but I wanted to get the opinions of people who have run them. Is it worth it to give the subs more time to break in before I switch boxes? I'm also considering adding another 1500. I've only had the subs for a couple of weeks. I only have a chance to get on them driving to work and around town.

The box is built for 2 Sundown audio sa-12's tuned to about 35z with 2 2" ports and i was wondering if those would be a big enough ports or if i should take out the middle separator and make it one big 3" port. What would cause and amp to automatically pop all 3 fuses when the ground and power and hooked on. Like as soon as the power is put on the fuses blow. I just took the amp out of my car. It was working wonderfully. Put it in a friends truck today and this is the problem we are having. Please advise. thanks
