    * More fins added to the side. * The main change, 10mm added height to add fins under the face. * Mirrored part number so that when you flip the "Sundown Audio" bar it looks the same as before. --- There we go Eventually the whole SAX and SAZ line will have this case.

So I was sitting here thinking of how I can make my car louder! then it hit me! toss out my back seat and get another NS 15inch and more power and fire them up or forward! lol!! I was just looking over my last install pics and I noticed without the rear seat I have so much more space. plus my car already has 320,000km (198,000 miles) so what can I lose! lol!! I HAVE NOT TAKEN ANY MEASUREMENTS YET, this is just what I was thinking about. my car is a 95 grand am my current setup can be found here I now have a new jvc avx77 and aluminum bus bars on my batteries so everything looks a little more cleaner! anyways back to my idea! if I pull out the seat make a 6cubic box ei…

We have been using a plastic domed pole plug for our cooling option for some time now. I decided to take a new route and these will be shipping as of orders placed today and beyond. They were made down the street here in Troutman, NC Solid aluminum plugs! The shape is a bit more aerodynamic than the old plug as well: Also, being aluminum, the plug itself will soak up some heat.

I have a 100.2 running Rainbow SLC265 comps and the amp run hot. Is it supposed to? I have gains all the way down, bass boost off and the Rainbows are very loud so I don't play them that loud often and yet the amp is pretty hot to the touch after 10-15 minutes. I was a little bummed to find the crossover only goes down to 75hz I also have the 1000D pushing my TC-OEM10 at 2ohms and wow, I can barely hear the sub (unless volume jacked up). The OEM really needs power I guess. I have the gains turned all the way up and it delivers what I was hoping for. Is that bad? Right now my comps are just wailing away and my sub can't keep up it's end. I'm just a little surprised that 6…

155.1 dB - woohoo This was with a "Monster" prototype woofer -- not a production speaker. Interestingly... with all my tweaks to the Z v.2 prototype it was doing the same numbers per watt up to 2500 watts (I stopped measuring with the Monster at that point). So... I may be able to match this with a full production trim Z v.2 driver. Previous best was 154.9 with an 18v electrical system and two SAZ-3000Ds on the sub... this time I am on 12v but with two SAZ-4500Ds (power is similar). Some more pics of the setup : I haven't played with front to back box positioning since I built the new amp rack (yah, slacking... I know) -- but I'll work on that a bit when I get time a…

So they arrived a couple of days ago but my lazy roommate hasn't gone and picked them up yet. About a week and a half ago I talked him into order a pair of 10s to replace the current Kenwoods under his backseats in the GMC Sierra. Today I finally got fed up with it and went to the front office to pick up the pair of Sundown SA-10 D4 B-Stock we ordered from Jacob. So the lady goes to the back to get them and calls me in for help because she claims they are "really heavy". I was thinking to myself, no way are these things THAT heavy. So I go to lift them both up and almost shit my pants. I did NOT expect the weight they have. Jacob sure fed these subs their Wheaties! On top…

I am going to make the official announcement now that we are sold out of new SAZ-2000Ds -- yes, I am in fact sold out... a few used ones remain but that is it. To replace it I am developing an SAZ-2500D model. This is a new board tooling for Sundown and is ours in the USA exclusively just like the SAZ-3500D. Just a HAIR larger than the SAZ-2000D and over 500 watts more power is expected from it. I am excited about it -- more details will be available once I have the prototype in hand. This evens out the amp line to 1500, 2500, 3500, and 4500 so there is not such a large gap from the 2000 to the 3500. It is too early for ETAs or pricing... but I will do a pre-order once te…

Who wants to know what it is ? Here is a hint... it's 1" longer than the SAZ-1000D and it will actually replace the 1000D once the next run of 1000Ds is sold (so if you need one get one). I'll be opening pre-sale soon... coming in with the 2500Ds.

Went to my first show with the new SAZ2000 and i broke my record last night!! My old record was a 150.3 at 47hz just by changing out my SAZ1500 to a SAZ2000 i picked up .9 so my new score was a 151.2!!! Not bad for one 18 and 2000w!! The 2000 is a little beast just like the 1500!

Tooling is finally done ! * Logo embossed in the ring. The frames will have the drilled holes sealed up and all the under frame air flow will go through this ring -- brings it in right at the coil. These will show up in production toward the end of the year.

I just got around to starting the install of my 50.4 I am still waiting on some parts to complete it. When I took it out of the box it has been sitting in I noticed a burnt wire smell. It seems stronger on the side where the crossovers are. Is this just because it is new and closed up in the box and fresh soder? It shows it was tested before packaged and I know Jacob said he tests them all. It is new never installed bought at SSA so I'm not worried about warrenty issues. I am just wondering if I am a little paranoid. I won't have everything for it unitl the end of the week so that will be the earliest I will know anything. Just so this dont get misunderstood I do NOT t…

My new SAZ-1500D (Jacob, you're the best!) came in via UPS today. It just occurred to me that nobody has posted pics of the new heatsink for this model, so here you go! This is a crappy picture, but it shows off the upper heatsink.

Hey Guys. Well, I traded my SAZ-3500D and got 2 SAZ-2000D's. Here is a pic. It is hard to believe all of that is in my spare tire well. Each amp is wired to each Sundown Nightshade 15 dual 2 ohm at 1 ohm each. Little SPL Box. Hoping to do a 151+ at NSPL World Finals tomorrow.
