Sundown Audio

Just wondering about some power testing results for the SAX series amplifiers. Anyone ever test these to see what they really pushin? Also, I wouldn't mind picking up some equipment to do my own power testing, what would I need to do this?

My next build will consist of 4 SA-8's with whichever coil options I need to see either a 1 ohm or 2 ohm final imp. Box will be 2.4^3 net tuned to 32Hz subs up port back. I already have an AP15001D so I could get a second and make an AP30001D. Would be cheaper than the AQX2500.1, but I don't know if the 8's will take 750 a piece daily. I know the AQX2500.1 would be pushing it already. I have ran double rms to an AA Chaos 15 with my AP15001D without any problems. So I know how to watch my system for signs of stress and properly control my volume and gain. hey i got 2 sundown 1500ds (iv had a few threads on here) and i was wondering if i could daisy chain the RCA's through the br out and br in without having the amps strapped. otherwise im gonna need some Y adapters...

So Derrick came up today and constructed a box for me for my four SA-8s... still two 1500Ds on one Stinger SPP-1500D and one Stinger SPV-70 battery on Powermaster Charger (car off). We built the box from scrap 5-layer pine plywood for testing... we plan to use birch ply for another version at a later date. Results here :

hi i was looking at buying me a single 10 inch sundown audio sa sub and was wondering would the jl audio 300/2 amp be enough to power the sub without under powering it ?

I purchased my amplifier from Db-r, The day i got it i hooked it up it blew and started smoking. I sent it in to Db-R they fixed it; The guys at Db-R said the power input was soldered too long and it burnt up and smoked my power supply. They replaced everything under warranty. Today (12/25/09) I opened my Saz-3000d and was just looking around at Sundown's beautiful job at designing/making amplifiers and found this. as you can see the MOSFET's most are soldered in on the top, but there are a few that are not. Is this something to be worried about?

Is this (2 saz-4500) too much power to put on 4 15" Fi BLs?

What would cause and amp to automatically pop all 3 fuses when the ground and power and hooked on. Like as soon as the power is put on the fuses blow. I just took the amp out of my car. It was working wonderfully. Put it in a friends truck today and this is the problem we are having. Please advise. thanks

Just an FYI... they can take anywhere from 1 to 10 days to build depending on how busy we are. Please do not ask for status updates the next day -- it just takes us away from finishing everyone's woofers. This goes for ANY custom job... re-coning a woofer, building drop-ins, NS v.2, Z v.2, etc. We try to keep it down to 5 days or less but it can take longer sometimes !

I was just wonderin when the new production of saz 3000 will be in stock the end of jan or the beginning also is the heatsink gonna look different on them i thought i read that somewhere on here thanks for everyones time

Second time ever on a meter First time ever competing and I won first in Street C with 145.9. I got there early this morning and was in the lane qualifying within ten minutes of being there. They gave me a CD and I started at 32hz and just went up 3 tracks at a time within 30 seconds until I got to 48hz. I am still not sure where I peak but 48hz was the only track I played on my other 3 runs. Thanks to Sundown Jerry for his advice. Gear: 2 15 Sundown Nightshades 1 SAZ1500 at .5 ohm 1 Powemaster D2400 1 MLA module 145.9 and I think I got more if I can get some meter time to test.

Ok, You NEED to Get Ahold of the Wire thats Inside of the SAZ3000D's.... It has Cursive writing on it, and It's Obviously TOP-NOTCH Wire! I Need Like 200ft Of it in 1/0!

quick question about running 1 sub to a 1500d. in the owners manual its shows the way to wire 1 sub up a little weird. does it really matter which terminals you use?

Well some peeps sent me up a nightshade to play with (Thanks Travis and Eric!!) well on with my results thus far. Box is my standard "scrapy" box, 2.7 cu ft with one 6" aero tuned to about 39 hz where my car peaks at 42 hz. Car is a 1997 Chevy Cavalier z24 I have 1 yellow top battery under hood and one kinetic in the trunk. the results are: dB drag: 148.3 bass race: 147.3 Midwest spl: 149.5, 149.3 on video Usaci: 150.6 Street beat: 149.2 Now i have an saz-3500 to throw on it, we will see how far this jumps

Hey, I tried to PM Sundownz but it would not work. Anyway, I currently have a Sundown 1000D amp and one day the blue LED decided to stop working. I don't know what caused this but I was wondering can it easily be fixed or can I get a new one shipped or what. It is not a huge deal but because of where I put it, it served as a floor light for me. Thanks, Alex

So I had my cracked nightshade 12 reconed by Jacob to a 15 and had him add the V2 coil along with a extra spider. Honestly all I can say is Damn I have owned A lot of subs in my life, but this is by far the loudest I have ever had the pleasure of listening to. The bass from this sub is violent. I know my blazer hates me everytime I start my truck. I am pround to tell people I have sundown in my truck, I also own a saz 3500. So if your thinkin of purchasing any sundown product don't think just buy it. Great products Jacob keep up the great work!!! Mr. FedEx dropped off 3 packages for me today. Sundown Audio Equipment 2x SAZ-1500D's 2x NightShade 12's One set is for me, one set is for a customer. Here are some pics: I'll have some build pics of the Mazda as I go.

Is it supposed to come with it or do you have to use your own? Just asking b/c i just got mine and there wasnt one.
