hi i cant decide whether to take a 3500 or a 4500 for one 18 btl. ill use the setup for daily drivin but i also want to be loud as hell. which battery upgrade do you recommend? is one d3100 enough?

I am offering up people to listen Sundown products in Centrla/S. California. I am now a firm believer in Sundown and am willing to let anyone that wants to listen to my SQ orientated truck running the 100.4 and 1500D. Keep in mind this is a SQ truck with the ability to get to decent loud volumes. I am a Sq compeitor and hence my reasoning about setting up Sundown amps in that fashion. I look at it this way, if I can make it sound good, REALLY GOOD, and do it at 2 ohms and not take advantage of dropping the impedence for full power then I think you can imagine the "output" with full power. Hey you guys are really imformative on these forums. So recently I installed my new system that consisted of a Fi BTl 18, SAZ 3000d, HO alternator(220amp), Kinetik 2400 in back, all 0gauge wires, big three all in a Nissan Pathfinder. And recently I would be listening to music and then the subwoofer would cut out and there would be no output. I inspected the sub and it looked fine. I switched the sub with a JL and it did the same thing. Played then cut out. I checked rcas, ground and also checked to see if the speaker wires r hooked up right. I switched out the 3000d with a Alpine amp and it worked fine. If you guys got any input or advice i should try please let me…

well might be makin a trade for a 15" d1 nightshade. i currently have a 15" hdc3 in a 4.7 cube box @ 38 hz using 3 4" aeros. just wanted to see how it would perform in this size of a box? dont have the time and money at the moment to built a new one. but will be when i get some extra time and money. oh and using an aq 2200d for power

I purchased my amplifier from Db-r, The day i got it i hooked it up it blew and started smoking. I sent it in to Db-R they fixed it; The guys at Db-R said the power input was soldered too long and it burnt up and smoked my power supply. They replaced everything under warranty. Today (12/25/09) I opened my Saz-3000d and was just looking around at Sundown's beautiful job at designing/making amplifiers and found this. as you can see the MOSFET's most are soldered in on the top, but there are a few that are not. Is this something to be worried about?

What is the air displacement on the SA-8. I'm trying to account for it in a .5 cube box....

The box is built for 2 Sundown audio sa-12's tuned to about 35z with 2 2" ports and i was wondering if those would be a big enough ports or if i should take out the middle separator and make it one big 3" port. The end goal is to have the least amount of port noise possible. This is with the 2 different ports This is with the single port And advice would be greatly appreciated.

Our new FedEx rep was a good sport and got a short demo. 12x Obsidian Audio 12s 2x SAZ-4500Ds on 16v @ 1.33 ohms We forgot to have the low-tuned loading wall in -- so hair movement not as good as it could be but our rep enjoyed it !

I havent been on the forums for a long time.. too long.. haven thad time to compete in a while either but I have been using my 18'' nightshade and 2 saz1500s for my daily system untill the other day it just quit working.. I pushed in on the cone only to realize that it was completely locked up... odd but it happens... so i took the woofer out of the enclosure to find the top sulg on the motor had complete broken in half and was off center.. iv never seen this happen so i figured id share... its a sad day as i cannot afford a new motor in the near future...

i have 2 12" nightshades and their getting very hot and smelly after about 30 secs to a 1 min of playing, and no low end my system consist of: hu: JVC kw-nx7000 sub: 2 12" D1 Sundown Nightshades sub box: 4 cubes @ 34hz, kerfed port sub amp: 2 audioque 2200ds strapped battery: (front)Duralast Gold;(back) 2x Deka Intimidator g31 electrical: Mechman 270a, big 3 in 1/0 gauge knu flex i cant figure out whats going on. i hooked them up to each amp (not strapped) and doing the same thing. it doesnt get as hot, but still gets hot and no low end. it sounds like my ssf is set to 34hz. anything below that is inaudible (ssf is set to around 25). and they bottom out vey easy

Hey guys, greeting again from Russia... we just had the national DbDrag finals last weekend. Our team in Rostov quickly (about a week) build up a system for SS1-2 that was good enought to take second place in the class with a 156.5 two SAZ4500's two Sundown Audio z18v2 subs two XS Power D3100's here are some pics of the build and from the comp this has a ton more potential ...hopefully they will rebuild it soon with metal for the cage

Had a nice gift waiting for me when I got home today. Three Sundown SAX-125.2 amps! One will be powering a set of components, Image Dynamics CXS64. The other two will be dedicated to my subs, two JL Audio 8W7's. These amps look great! Here are some pics. Nice, huh?

first show with 1 1500d and 1 10" in a 02 eclipse did 145 @ 47 hrtz. it was third loudest of the day and I won my class. i had problems friday so I did'nt get to use both 1500d's and did'nt build a spl box. oh and my camera got left @ home so I will post a link for dbdrag result's when they are in. i got beat by a blazer with 2 old w6 15's and 2 dei 1100d's. and a chevy extreme with 4 9515's and 2 6500's. wish i got to use both 1500's think I could of done 147-148 easy

Any idea how soon this model will be released? Since my upgrade to three subs I'm in need of more power and would like to stay Sundown. I'm limited however to a pair of amps that have no more than a 750watt power rating @ 4ohm and 200a max rated current draw each. The 2000s should fit perfect. I'm looking to upgrade this summer in about three months or so. Will they be out by that time.
