i met up with nightshade the other day just to talk and hear the shades. And let me tell you its brutal!! i have been to a couple of shows and havent heard anything like this. vision blurry, hard to breathe, felt like somebody was just punchin me n the head and kickin me n the chest and that was only halfway on the bass knob. at full blast, i felt myself drifting in and out of consiousness LOL . zach is one of the coolest dudes youll ever meet, and he knows his chit. Heard one tonight... Wow. The owner was Toby from T&J Elite Customs in Oldsmar, FL. Was in an Escalade, probably an 04 or so. Was a SAZ-3000D running a Critical Mass 5000 in a box that was around 3 cubes tuned to 38hz. SAX-100.2 on the Critical Mass comp set. Entire system was 1 12, 2 6.5s, and 2 tweeters. Those components screamed! They sounded great, and blended perfectly. The sub was probably the best sounding woofer Ive ever heard. Couldnt even tell there was a sub, you would think it was actually a bass drum. As good as it sounded, he metered it and it was right at 144.xdbs on the Termlab, legal. He is a Sundown dealer and was playing with the 3000D and hooked it…

Would there be anything wrong with running the 3000 at .5ohms DAILY? Thanks,

Hey guys, I'm new here and I'm looking all over the net for some good info and I stumbled upon this site by a fluke I read on few forums that this is a quality amp and seems to be going for a price of $200 which is the top I want to spend on an amp, budget is tight. I've got two sets of coaxial speakers, both Alpine, one is Alpine Electronics of America, Inc. and the other Alpine Electronics of America, Inc. I'm working with limited space of no more than 17''x11'' in an enclosed trunk space, I will attach picture of someone elses car with the location of where I also want to put the amp.

Had a nice gift waiting for me when I got home today. Three Sundown SAX-125.2 amps! One will be powering a set of components, Image Dynamics CXS64. The other two will be dedicated to my subs, two JL Audio 8W7's. These amps look great! Here are some pics. Nice, huh?

Well currently I have no room in the back of my SUV. So the only option to mount the amp is on the box. My box is subs up port back. I have room on the top to mount the amp. I put a couple coins,keys, and other chit on top to see how bad it vibrates. It definetly vibrates, but will it be bad for the amp?

I'm not trying to be rude or anything, I'm curious. What is the difference from the SA-8 SA-10 SA-12, and SA-15 they all can produce about the same db 150 ish single sub. I'm wondering because I just bought a SAX-1200D amp and I was going to get the SA-15 but now I'm unsure what to get. I'm looking to move some air.. Thanks in advance.

Well I have 4 sa-8's and have messed around with 5 different boxes with different configurations. I posted my best score today using MECA AS2 specs. I scored a 137.5 on a single 8" sub. This smoked several larger systems built by people who didn't know any better.

I have a PDX-4.100 amp and I use the front two channels for components. I want to use the back two channels (200rms x2 bridged) for SD-1 subs. What would be the best combination of these subs for me to use to get the best bass? I can spend up to $250.

I bought a pair of 10in Neo Pro v2s in 8ohm from WoofersEtc on Amazon. When I received them the box says 8ohm, but the underside of the cone on both of them says 4ohm. I checked them with the multimeter and they both read around 3.8-4ohm. I'm pretty annoyed because I needed an 8ohm load on my amplifier. I'm most definitely not going to pay for shipping to send them back and have new ones sent because the shipping was 40$. I find it odd though that sundown managed to box up and supposedly test these speakers without noticing this. Any ideas on what happened here, and has anyone else had this happen?

Here's the setup, a pair of Sundown Audio SAZ-1500d's strapped at 1 ohm. In the box used in the test (a single Funkin Audio MF12, dual 2), rise went from 1 ohm to 2 ohms during play. Here are the results: Notes: * Highest power on 16.0v rest was 4663 watts on 14.3v * Highest power on 16.5v rest was 5136 watts on 14.3v * Highest power on 17.9v rest was 5677 watts on 15.5v * 84% efficient on 15.0v and 180 amps of draw per amp There was a 10% increase in power starting 0.5v higher with an ending voltage being the same. I just placed an order at DbR for a refurbished SAE-1200D. They are stated as not including the remote. Does anyone know where I can get one for it? Are they a standard phone jack type remote that I could snag one from Ebay or somewhere else ?

hi i was looking at buying me a single 10 inch sundown audio sa sub and was wondering would the jl audio 300/2 amp be enough to power the sub without under powering it ?

is it safe to buy a refurbished amp? im planing on buying a bnew sae1200d but i saw that dbr is selling refurbished amps. and iam thinking on buying a refurbished saz1500d. whats the down side in buying refurbished amps? aside from its already used. any suggestions?? thanks

Just wondering if any of you guys had posted up a comprehensive review of the nightshade?? I've searched the forum a bit but haven't found much info on it other then its loud!! I was looking for any reviews in like the daily driving aspect of it/how it sounds/comparable subs/things along those lines. Hoping to see a good review up if you guys could!! Unless I missed something when I was searching through, but I couldn't find a full product review on it! So far things look good, but I was just hoping to see a bit more details about the subs listening style and how it sounded in daily driving.

is there any significant output differences between these amps. I would like the 1500 but its out my price range rite now. Besides the sae being unstrappable are there any advantages to using the saz. Still considering the sub at moment.
