My father is considering this driver. I want to know if you guys think it fits the bill for him.His system consists of the following. HU- Kenwood....Soon to be replaced by an Alpine 9887 Amps- Front stage- US acoustics Usa 2100 running a pair of Alpine SPX-17REF in well sealed and dampened doors. Sub amp - Us acoustics Usa-2150 The sub amp does 500 watts at 4 ohms. I'm sure it's a little underrated. How much not sure. My guess would be 550. He listens to almost every type of music except hard core rap.....He can't stand it. BTW....The vehichle is an 04 Explorer. Will the SA-12 be what he needs? Does he have enough power to get good sound from it? He is also stuck betwee…

  4. This will be the official "Front Stage Inc" demo car...just waiting for my battery to come in. That HC2400 is too ginormous. I'm not sure if you can see this but the cover is kind of sitting on top of the amps. I'm waiting for some 1/8" lexan to put over the amps so I can use my trunk without messing up the amps.

For sale. One SAZ-1500D, brand new in box. This unit has a blemish on the finish, but is otherwise brand new. I inspect each one before it goes out and caught this one: $475 shipped in the continental USA. This amplifier carries full warranty coverage.

I purchased my amplifier from Db-r, The day i got it i hooked it up it blew and started smoking. I sent it in to Db-R they fixed it; The guys at Db-R said the power input was soldered too long and it burnt up and smoked my power supply. They replaced everything under warranty. Today (12/25/09) I opened my Saz-3000d and was just looking around at Sundown's beautiful job at designing/making amplifiers and found this. as you can see the MOSFET's most are soldered in on the top, but there are a few that are not. Is this something to be worried about?

Wired a 1500d to a btl. Everything is right but there's no sound. Amp gets power, lights up blue. No protection light. Speaker wires test 1.8ohm (dual 1ohm wired to 2ohm) RCA's SHOULD be good...nothing has changed. How can I test my RCA voltage? I have a multimeter. (which part of the RCA is POS and which is NEG?) Anything else I'm missing?

Alright Everyone Here Goes Another Post. My Current Setup Is One FI 15'' BTL With A SAZ 2200 D Amp. Now I Was Wondering If I Put This Setup In A BMW if If Would Hurt The Amp Or Alternator/Battery With Stock Electrical. In The Long Run My Plans Are Having 2 FI 15" BTL's With 2 SAZ 2200D Amps Running A Total Of 4400 Watts. Also Im Planning On Having A In Dash Head Unit That The Screen Comes Out When You Turn It On And Also 2 Screens On The Headrests. Could Anyone Tell Me Some Info On The Electrical System What Would I Need For All This Whether It Be Battery's,Capacitors Or Alternators. Thank You ~ Kent ~

I was just wondering what would be a better match 4 sa12's or 2 nightshade 12's both boxes will be ported. reason I am asking this will be my first time using sundown equipment so I was just seeking a little advise. I have a 275a alt., 2 svr1500 batt., so I think I will be fine powering it .

Went from 2 saz 1500s to 4. We pulled a 157.6 at the head. It was good enough for a best of show at our April fools MECA event. Thought I would just share the info. Amps are killer!!!!

Happened alot faster than I thought... but the first run of motors is totally sold out as of today. If you have already paid for one you are fine (I saved yours too, Fabio) -- just did inventory this morning and we cannot sell any more than we already have. It will be a few months for more as I had to get a huge amount of amps started before the MOSFET shortage hit and also had to strengthen stock of the better selling SA line first. I will make a post when they are available again -- of course parts and re-cones will remain available the whole time. Just no new units until we get motors again.

Alright, so... I plan on buying a SA-15 D4. I currently have a 500W @ 2ohms Rockford Fosgate amp that is powering a 12. I do not plan on getting rid of it, considering I just got it. But i realized I want a 15 instead of a 12. The 12 I have is a Rockford Fosgate P2D412 (2011 model). So, the jump to Sundown its self is a great upgrade I'm assuming. I plan on building a box that's 3.5 cubes, tuned at 27Hz with a 4"x11" aero port. That gives me a port area of ~12sq. in./cu. foot. From what I hear that is sufficient for a SQ setup. But it seems a bit too short. Any opinions? I want a tune between 25Hz and 28Hz.... That brings me to another question, is that too low of a tune …

Ok i'm trying to get down to around 6-6.5 cubes net. but the dimensions i came up with won't work because the subs will be basically sitting on the ports. I've went over so many different dimensions and they're all coming out to around 7-7.5 cubes after port and sub. I wanna do subs up ports back, will be using 4 4" full length aero's. i've got a max of 24" high 37" wide and 24" deep to work with. Someone give me a hand, as i want to start this build tomorrow. If it matters this will be for straight daily and bass race. Also, it will be going in a 2001 2dr. blazer Thanks

  18. Okay.. I might be able to snag a pair of these 10w7 for a decent price. However, I am worried that because they are single 3 ohm coils, then I will not be able to run them efficiently on the Sundown amps. The 10w7 is rated at 750 watts rms each at 3 ohms. What are some amp and wiring configurations that would work for me? I'd like to give them their recommended power, but the JL website shows that the subs don't like to handle more than 750 watts continuous as it gets to the black line (warranty voided). Is this power rating from JL "over-rated" or "under-rated" for their subs? http://mobile.jlaudio.com/products_subs.php?series_id=5 I currently have 2 gauge power and g…

What would cause and amp to automatically pop all 3 fuses when the ground and power and hooked on. Like as soon as the power is put on the fuses blow. I just took the amp out of my car. It was working wonderfully. Put it in a friends truck today and this is the problem we are having. Please advise. thanks

The plan is to run SAZ-1500D on 2 Fi Q15's and 2 SAX-100.4's. A buddy of mine that's an installer at a stereo shop in the area says that running those amps will be fine on my stock 160A alternator if I use a Kinetik 2400 as my starting battery and add a second 2400 as reserve. Is this an accurate statement, or is my buddy gonna inadvertantly kill my alternator? Also will it even be worth it? Cuz even if it works and doesn't hurt anything, will my voltage stay high enough to get rated power?

Jacob or whomever can answer, The dustcap came off one of the E8's my boy is using. What glue should be used to fix it? How long should it dry? As an added note, the box for my boy is finally built. Going to paint it this spring but he is going to use it untill then. It has been hooked up @ 4 ohms for a couple of weeks. We are going to hook it up @ 1 ohm today. I am going to video his first impressions of it.

I would consider myself a "lurker" when it comes to forums. I compete in the local SPL scene here on Oahu and am a member of Team Sundown. Anyway, I've reached a landmark in my brief SPL career the other day and decided to share it with fellow Sundown Audio enthusiasts. In testing I was able to break the 150db mark on the Term-Lab, now to do it in competititon. Here's some info, pics, and vids of my current setup.
