  2. I haven't been able to find a good post detailing the differences and improvements between the V1 and V1.5 SA8. If Jacob or someone else that knows could post up I'd appreciate it. Also is the motor the same on all SA8 v1/v1.5? I've seen two different basket styles. Can they be run together? I'm getting some old SA8 v1 motors and need some info. I've emailed Jacob as well, so if I get info from him I'll post it here.

came in yesterday, got her in and play with her for a lil while. figure i'd post some pics, know yall have seen em many times. pics are with a phone, kinda crappy quality. ya, i know its an ugly trunk, its not a show off trunk, no show, all go i havent had very many quality subs, so my review is pretty much worthless, but here goes. my last sub was an acoustic elegance c15.1, an old av clone, so thats all i have to compare this to, and this was a drop in replacement for that. first off, it looks gorgeous. got her in and wow, she sounds pretty good, not quite as musical as the ae, but not too much different. the ae sub kinda struggled with the higher bass notes be…

so ive just finished building my 2nd box for these, and still not satisfied. ive done subs forward, port up in middle, but the box made me move my seat to close to the steering wheel it was 6 cubes 80sq inches of port, and i think there wasn't enough port area. sounded good though. my new box is subs up, port up (drivers side) 6 cubes, 94 sq inches of port. both box's tuned to 32 hz, so im looking to for help on something will i will be happy with, im not looking for numbers, just something that gets low and hella loud at it. my truck is a 99 s10 ext cab. do i need a bigger box for such low tuning? higher tuning? i play a lot of low 30-35 hz songs when i have it full ti…

I am currently running a Kenwood eXcelon KAC-x40 for my comp set and I have had no issues with any whine or hum coming through my comps. However, yesterday after swapping out my SAE-1000 for the SAE-1200 I now have a whine in my comps when I plug the RCA's into it. With the volume at 0 the whine is still there. I think it is odd that I am getting a whine in my comps when plugging the RCA's into my sub amp. When I remove the RCA's from the SAE-1200 the whine goes away completely. Any insight into this would be more than appreciated. Thanks!!!! Head Unit: Kenwood DNX-5120 4-Channel RCA's: JL Audio XB-CLRAIC4-18 2-Channel/Sub RCA's: JL Audio XB-CLRAIC2-18 Power &a…

So I'm running Sundown 100.4 with fronts and backs with no problem for last month or two. But I have a problem with 125.2, I just hokked everything up and this amp that feeds subs is turning on and off constantly, as soon as there is a bass in the song it hits very quiet, barely noticable and amp turns itself off, but as the bass dissapears in the song amp turns itself back on, and it's like that throughout the whole song, it will literally turn on and off maybe 20 times in 1 minute. But the 100.4 runs without a problem in the meantime and rest of speakers play fine. here's the hookup for 125.2 2 Id8's dual voice coil 4ohm http://www.imagedynamicsusa.com/manuals/iD/ID8D4%…

Hey guys I recently found out about sundown audio and everything I read so far is most impressive I was wondering if any of you do active competitions with the Sundown amps. I am in he market for new amps and I need serious power because my 2 15"s will handle 6000+ watts easy for burps a piece and finding amps is not as easy as one would think. I am trying to get a better picture of the capabilities of these amps. please inform me Thanks Phil

So... I've been suffering with horrible front speakers ever since I sold my BMW 325i a few years back. Sent in my design specs to the factory today for an SA-8 driver. Will move down to a 2" coil, though, so we can fit the proper spider on the frame. Coil will be 33% longer than the E8 coil and will feature all of the SA-12 cooling features. Frame will be 12-spoke rather than 4-spoke as it works better in the 8" size. May have pics in a few weeks Motor dimensions are similar to SA-12 except for it is narrower to more easily fit into an 8" woofer cut-out. Power rating 400-500 watts RMS. As for the X8... I may start from scratch on it due to the difficulties of using a 2.5" coil on an 8" driver.

Thanks for taking the time to read this and give advice! Currently I have 2 SA-12D4's in my car, each ran by a separate MTX 1501d amp. Each sub should be getting about 750 watts at 2 ohms, and is in a 1.75 ^ft ish ported box each (or atleast close). I started with the pair of subs and 1 amp before before adding on the second amp. Here is my issue. These amps can handle 1 ohm loads and is currently seeing 2; thus the subs are not getting the power they deserve. I am torn between 2 thoughts I'm hoping you can help me out with. Should I replace my 2 current sa-12d4's with the 2 ohm models and really push them, or would I be better off buying 2 more 4 ohm models and addin…

I've had this guy for a while but it seems I never posted up about it. Here are some photos of it -- tests out very similar to the SAX-1200D in power but is in our new narrow casing with a new layout. Pre-order coming soon along with 2500D v.2 and 3500D v.2 models... ETA by end of January 2013. * Much smaller than SAZ-1500D

Today my buddy offered to buy my eD Nine.1 and I am really thinking about selling it to him so I can order an sae-1000D. I have a 15" Q no options with a 4 cubic ft box tuned to 30 HZ. I am thinking about it because I was reading a topic a few days ago and they said that they swaped a 9.1 for a sae-1000D and there was a noticible increase in sound quality. I would have bought the sundown had I know about them at the time. I was just curious if you guys thought I might really notice a difference between the two. I may end up doing it just because I would feel more comfortable with the quality of the amp. And I am not really happy with the 9.1's sound quality...it…

hi, i got around to measure to see where i can mount the amps that i am about to get. and it looks like i am going to have to mount the 1500d on the enclosure. now the enclosure is 3/4 mdf with bracing. i figure if i mount the 1500d on a 1" thick mdf board then mount that to the enclosure that will be enough to limit the vibrations and any other problems with mounting amps on enclosure. so will that be enough or should i go thicker.

I was checking out the sundown SA-12's on this website and was wondering if there is a build time for the marked down subs? And as far as the RMS rating goes is it underrated like the Fi subs? Also would a 2.3cuft box @ 34hz with about 25 square inches of port be ok? Here is the link: My link
