Sundown Audio

Thanks for taking the time to read this and give advice! Currently I have 2 SA-12D4's in my car, each ran by a separate MTX 1501d amp. Each sub should be getting about 750 watts at 2 ohms, and is in a 1.75 ^ft ish ported box each (or atleast close). I started with the pair of subs and 1 amp before before adding on the second amp. Here is my issue. These amps can handle 1 ohm loads and is currently seeing 2; thus the subs are not getting the power they deserve. I am torn between 2 thoughts I'm hoping you can help me out with. Should I replace my 2 current sa-12d4's with the 2 ohm models and really push them, or would I be better off buying 2 more 4 ohm models and addin…

What is the total outer diameter of a zv4 12" minus the gasket? I have 13" to mount them in. And no, Im Not talking bout the cut out for the hole to mount them in the box. Lol

i was having some issues with my electrical, and my battery died at the school yesterday. long story short i had to go get a new battery and put it in. well at the school i don't have any tools in mine or my friends car. i decided that i was sick of hearing them rattle last week so i took them out hahah. and so i could only tighten the terminals by hand. well on my drive home, so i can completely tighten them, i was having some shorts goin on with the terminals and i ended up blowing 2 of my 30 amp fuses on my amp. i was just wondering if there is any way i can test the amp myself to make sure no other damage was done? i'm about to go get some new fuses, and i will get ba…

The truck finally broke the 158 mark yesterday at the Wild Bills show in AL. Pulled a 158.1 db at 48hz and in the freezing cold.

Today my buddy offered to buy my eD Nine.1 and I am really thinking about selling it to him so I can order an sae-1000D. I have a 15" Q no options with a 4 cubic ft box tuned to 30 HZ. I am thinking about it because I was reading a topic a few days ago and they said that they swaped a 9.1 for a sae-1000D and there was a noticible increase in sound quality. I would have bought the sundown had I know about them at the time. I was just curious if you guys thought I might really notice a difference between the two. How much would I gain if running one NS 18" D2 on saz-2000D against saz-1500D? Would there be difference on the ear with 500W more from saz-2000D? Is it really necessary to run over 1kw more than rated(assuming the underrated power of saz2000) to get loud or I should run 1500D and save that 100$. I don't really care about the meter. Just want to save some money.

what are you guys running off your sundown full range amps. should i do rear fill or not. i have to make some kicks for the front going to be 5.25 not sure what yet. i have a sax-100.4

I worked all day yesterday getting my Maxx-Link working properly. I'm 99% positive it was an issue with the outputs on my old head unit. Now I'm trying to get everything fine tuned perfect and there are a lot of adjustments on this thing. My only concern is what to set the ouput of the Maxx-Link to? Its currently set to 5v but can I go higher? Will the 1500s take the full 9v output? I checked the owner's manual but didn't see it listed. Also since I'm not using the br output to strap the amps, do I still need to gain match them? How does that work? I'm used to only setting one amp and now its like I have to set both amps and the Maxx-Link which is driving me cra…

Is the amp available in the store? It's perfect for my application but it has no image and the description saying that it's essentially in a prototype stage.

So far the preliminary result is fantastic! I am impressed thus far! This is only with 1 hour of listening, I'll update with much more info in the comming weeks.

i only have one sub which is RE SE d4... according to the picture i will have to connect both the positive to the box. and only one to the negative. so from box... it's one + and one -... and from amp it's + - - + So i would connect all both + on the amp and then connect it to the sub. and only one to the negative?

Currently have a Sa-8V2 in a 1.2^3 ported enclosure powered off a AQ1200D at 2 ohms(~850RMS).. I would like some more trunk space in my 2014 WRX hatchback and was wondering how these subs sounded like sealed? Or is it even a good idea at all?

ok so i'm purchasing 2 18" BTLs and really considering getting 2 of these amps.. heres my question do i get 2 Dual 2ohm BTLs and run 1 on each amp at 1ohm @ 1500 watts rms each OR do i get 2 Dual 1ohm BTLs wire them parallel on the 2 1500s strapped @ 1ohm to get the 3700 watts? how efficiant is it to strap these amps? and are there any other worth while scenarios that i should consider? I will be getting a 300amp alt and as of now i only have 1 yellow top, will i need more batteries with that big of an alternator?

hi, i got around to measure to see where i can mount the amps that i am about to get. and it looks like i am going to have to mount the 1500d on the enclosure. now the enclosure is 3/4 mdf with bracing. i figure if i mount the 1500d on a 1" thick mdf board then mount that to the enclosure that will be enough to limit the vibrations and any other problems with mounting amps on enclosure. so will that be enough or should i go thicker.

Okay I am buying my Christmas present a little early. I have a 1997 Toyota Camry. I use a Pioneer DVD H/U and I have 1/0 ga. KnuKonceptz wiring and I am looking at running the Sundown Audio SAZ-3000D on (2) 12" Fi Audio BL's with the cooling option. This will be a daily driver and I want to hunt down a JL Audio guy, will this do the trick? I listen to just about anything but I still have my DJ Magic Mike and Techmaster PEB CD's. I do have an additional battery in the trunk and upgrading the alternator won't be a problem. Please help!

My friend got a sa-8v2 in a ported box and I was amazed how it sounded. So I decided togo the SA-12 route rather then my DC L4 18. Just got em in today. Can't wait to get started on the box Sunday.
