I am going to start putting corner pieces in my box as well as adding resin. I will be tracking my gains from these things here. I will do each corner with a 45 degree piece first (ripped 4x4 lumber). I will also try pieces that are cut into an arc (same 4x4 but with an arc cut) to see which is louder. This will be done one corner at a time. This may take a while but I am going to start today. Base-Line score from the end of my dampener log : 155.2 dB @ 48 Hz --- First piece in place - screwed in with tape along the top as that edge was rough: This resulted in a GAIN : --- I tested 49 Hz as well to make sure my frequency did not change - I metered 155.2 dB @ 49 Hz. I al…

Attention Team Sundown and other customers looking at 3000s. At the current rate of sales the 3000Ds will run out before I get more in stock. This year has shown incredible sales for the 3000Ds, well beyond my predicted averages. Just a heads up so you can make your plans accordingly if you NEED some before they are out. I estimate that they will be out of stock for 4-6 weeks once they are out. As an alternative there will be plenty of 1500Ds in stock during that time.

  7. I have always been a bit SQ fan. Clean and clear sound is what brought me into car audio but I had to make a detour towards output for most of our company history so far in order to meet my customer demands. Of course... that has not stopped me from implementing features for lower distortion in many of our models But now I feel it is time to really gear a product DIRECTLY towards SQ. I've started development on what I consider a true Reference grade component set... one with objective distortion levels up there with the BEST products on the market at any price level. This complete set will be priced under $1,000 from an authorized dealer; how much under that I do not kno…

HU at +3 position ! MY BEST SCORE EVER -- one OR two subs Man I am excited... 155.9 was my best before with two Nightshade 15s and four 3000s on an 18v system. This time... I've had my dealers asking me for years for a shallow component set so I started on one... here are some sneak peeks of the first sample set. We are testing them in Nick's car since he is a big SQ guy They are VERY shallow and will fit in any application I can imagine. For a driver this shallow excursion is not bad; obviously not a super high throw driver but crossover over steeply at 80 Hz will do nicely. So far we've tested the mid and we are very pleased for the depth and cost... Overall set price would be under $200 from an authorized dealer.

These all have original boxes + remotes. They are all "new case" style amps. Cosmetic condition varies slightly between them. ONE YEAR warranty included. $350 shipped each in continental USA. These are USED amplifiers... they are not NEW. Cosmetic imperfections are a given... if you plan to complain about any small cosmetic blemishes don't buy them. I will say it again... these are not new and are not necessarily mint condition. * Tape was applied to the face of this amp, you could scrub the adhesive off.

We put the Nightshade in Sean's truck and beat the crap out of it with 4x SAZ-1500Ds at 1/2 ohm nominal each (about 1.15 ohm each with impedance rise): * 4.5 ft^3 box tuned to around 35 Hz or so (same box from SDE post) * Front of the woofer in the "wall" setup Peak was at 54 Hz and SPL is as follows: 40.9 watts @ 133.0 dB 141.1 watts @ 137.8 dB 311.3 watts @ 140.7 dB 513.4 watts @ 142.7 dB 811.5 watts @ 144.5 dB 1731.2 watts @ 146.9 dB 2845 watts @ 148.1 dB 4505 watts @ 149.2 dB 7081 watts @ 151.2 dB -- Still gained 2 dB at this point, very little compression The next step blew one coil on the Nigthshade... so we didn't get any more SPL readings. Our meters don't have …

I had a miserable F-ing friday (yesterday). Earlier this week, a guy was "Selling" Incriminator 40.1's over on canadiancaraudio at crazy prices... (read: $600). He made it sound like he was just desperate for a quick sale, so I figured hey, may as well take advantage - I wanted to pick up a temporary amp to keep me busy until the 3000D's come out. The guy gave me a tracking number on thursday, and said he had shipped it out on wednesday. Turns out the tracking number was invalid... I tried repeatedly and gave up on friday. I messaged another guy that had "bought" a 40.1 from this seller, and he had the same symptoms. We compared tracking numbers and they were the ex…

Hello, I have a 100.4 running a set of infinity mids and highs and 2 kicker 8 midbass speakers in my doors. When I first installed it all, it sounded good. Now over the past few days, the speakers have been getting distorted and static sound in them. Now they are at the point that you cannot hardly even hear the music. I have replaced the rca cables, removed every speaker from the amp to see if there was a loose or grounded wire, and removed the head unit and checked every connection. No success... Cannot figure this one out... Maybe someone can help me fix this problem.

This sub is designed to be something that you can roll around with daily and hit SPL competitions with, all in the same woofer It's very daily friend but will still put up good numbers on the meter when you want it to do so. Now... they will be ready in February in 12" and 15" sizes with D1 and D2 coils. My question is this... who wants to be able to pre-order them now? Creating a new and separate thread to clear the clutter. We still have a fair amount available ! ---------- Paypal me at [email protected] to order or talk to your favorite dealer. ---------- SAX-50.4 -- $200 shipped in continental 48 states I will still include a 2-year warranty on these. Most customers shopping for an amp at this power level are more concerned about $ to watt and less about crossover flexibility. So we are closing out the 50.4 and will be developing a less expensive model to replace it without as much crossover flexibility to offer more watts per dollar. Make no mistake... the 50.4 is deceptively powerful as it produces over 60 watts per channel…

Looking for some info. I'm running 2 CDT QES1020 10"s in a ported box with a SAX-1200d. When I connect 1 sub the thing freaking shakes. It vibrates my mirrors and just sounds amazing. However when I connect the 2nd one, the audio tapers off, it sounds scratchy and doesn't hit as hard. It also seems like its making a ton of port noise and less audio. I checked all my connections and my +'s and -'s are connected per the manual. I'm not bridging or anything, just + to + and - to - for the 2 speakers on the 2 outputs. Any advice on something else to check? I've also swapped speakers and output ports. Anytime I have 1 connected no matter the output port, or the sub it…

Greetings, gents. I have an interesting goal where failure is not an option. Sparing details, a 'friend' of mine has a pair of DC level 3 10's being driven off a 3500 watt mono block, clamped around 2200. It hit 144 @ 29 hz and this is a rear-firing ported box in a trailblazer. This dude is a tool. Will not shut up about his setup and thinks he's unbeatable. Well again, sparing more details, I want to one-up his ass with 4 SA8's. Not only louder, but I want it to go lower. Here's what I'm working with: 1996 Nissan Altima. The back seat is out and I hope to have the 4 SA8's sealed against the opening for maybe a 4th order? Or ported with just the subs blowin…
