Sundown Audio

I worked all day yesterday getting my Maxx-Link working properly. I'm 99% positive it was an issue with the outputs on my old head unit. Now I'm trying to get everything fine tuned perfect and there are a lot of adjustments on this thing. My only concern is what to set the ouput of the Maxx-Link to? Its currently set to 5v but can I go higher? Will the 1500s take the full 9v output? I checked the owner's manual but didn't see it listed. Also since I'm not using the br output to strap the amps, do I still need to gain match them? How does that work? I'm used to only setting one amp and now its like I have to set both amps and the Maxx-Link which is driving me cra…

First one is complete. This should take care of alot of common and uncommon questions about our woofer dimensions. I am looking into printing them at full scale on our packing boxes as well. I'll be adding them to the X thread when the X drawings are done and will also add them to our site for pretty much every model woofer we make.

ive got 4 12's that handle 1500 watts max a piece and a box being build to spec.i was wondering if a 1500d would b enough for as3 next year at competition.i am planning on getting a second one the year after and strapping them.im using 0 guage wire and a 100 amp fuse.ive got a factory alt. w a decka intimadator batt. under the hood.will that be enough power and can i run them at.50 oms.?im doing the 4 12's cause i just wanna upgrade amps and batts. the following year.please give me some feed back.i would greatly appreciate it..

I already have 3 sa12s. i want to add 3 more subs and add another amp. If i were to buy 3 sa-15s to add to my system would the box need to bey chambered between the two different size subs or could they all be in on chamber? and anybody know if jacob started back taking people for team sundown?

Will the Zv3's utilize the new frames or will they keep the ones they have now?

How much Space would i need for 4 15s in a BP? just a roundabout so i could see if i have enough space.

Ok I have 1 3k and a 100.4. I have a yellow top under the hood and 2 Kinetik 2400 in the rear. The problem I have is there is no one that makes a alt for my car. I do plan on adding a second alt where the ac compressor but that going to happen at tax time. What I need to know is how many more 2400's I would need to run a 4500. Right now my voltage doesn't drop below 12.5 at full tilt on music. My stock alt is a 90 amp and does 14.5 cold and 13.9 hot. My batterys rest at 13.3. I hope this all the info needed to come up with a answer.

Can somebody help me with a box spec for my 2 SA-15. This is going into a Isuzu Rodeo. The widest the box can be is 41 inches. I want it for a daily driver and for competitions. I would appreciate the help.

I am picking up 3 SA8 motors and would like get some baskets and recones for them. I'm wondering what my options are, since I've seen v1 and v1.5. I'll be running these off an saz-1500d in a town car with a 240 amp alt, deka starting battery, deka 9a31 in the trunk, big 3, 1/0 wiring throughout etc... I want to wire these to .66 and want to know how big of a box I should go with and how much port area I need. This will be a daily driver, and will be turned down most of the time. Well I got a trophy for loudest at the show! Contest was your 30 second average score on music (if that makes sense). I did a 145 flat average 30 seconds. I burped a 148 at 46hz. But that was after beating them ALL DAY long. System consisted of 2 Sundown 1500ds. 2 15" Fully loaded Fi Bl's wired to 1ohm each

I have had my my 3000d since Feb. back when I was pushing a pair(2) of 12'' L7s. I never got hot. Just recently I have changed my subs to a pair(2) of 15'' DD 9500. Now my amp get hot. It went thermal once. I have the gain set at alittle over a half. Bass Boost to zero, Phase to zero, and subsonic all the way down. What would cause my amp to heat up? Do my subs need more power? Am I not giving my amp enough power? I still have a stock alt at the moment(I ordered a bigger alt with 200 amps). Two retop optimas. One has the main starting and the other in the trunk. I already did the big three. Any suggestions would really help. Thanks.

hi, i have a opportinty to get 2 12w7 ( svc 3 ohm) for cheap ( 500 for both) and i am looking at an amp for them before i get it and i would like to stick with 1 amp for price and i am wondering what does the saz1500d do at 1.5 ohms and also i have a 200 amp alternator. hc1400 under the hood and a hc2400 in the trunk and it is all connected by 1/0 guage wire and the other amps i am going to have 2 eclipse xa4000 amps to give you an idea of the power for the amp. i might add another hc2400 if i can get a good deal on it,

Just bought an saz-1500d off ebay, and I am anxiously awaiting it, as I have heard many good things. I'll be replacing a Audiobahn a3201t that I've had for 3 yrs, pushing 4 mtx thunder 5500 10's. One question though.. will it have full manuf warranty since it's been refurbed by factory, or not? Thanks

ok so i'm purchasing 2 18" BTLs and really considering getting 2 of these amps.. heres my question do i get 2 Dual 2ohm BTLs and run 1 on each amp at 1ohm @ 1500 watts rms each OR do i get 2 Dual 1ohm BTLs wire them parallel on the 2 1500s strapped @ 1ohm to get the 3700 watts? how efficiant is it to strap these amps? and are there any other worth while scenarios that i should consider? I will be getting a 300amp alt and as of now i only have 1 yellow top, will i need more batteries with that big of an alternator?

I'm redesigning the system in my truck. I'm going to be running 12 Re Audio RE 8's. Dual 4 coils, so I can get a .5 ohm load (i think). They are 175 rms, so if I use a 1500D I should be able to give them 125 each. I've been hearing a lot of good things about sundown. I'm just curious if the 1500 will be a good choice. I'm aware that they aren't warrantying .5 loads now. But I have a 200amp alt. 3 Mercedes 1200amp batteries and a dual 1/0gauge wire run. I used to run two Orion 2500'd and the voltage would only drop down to 12.4 ish. I guess I'm being cheap, but I'd like to find a place where I can get one for less than 599$. Just got done unloading the trucks... the 15s and 18s are here in stock for the first time. We have additional 12D2 models for any over-flow overs as well. Any 10s either coil or 12D1 we'll still have to build until the next shipment. Also some X-18 in D2 and D4 were on the truck as well as re-stocking quantities of SA-10/12/15 and SD-2 10/12 woofers.

I have a PDX-4.100 amp and I use the front two channels for components. I want to use the back two channels (200rms x2 bridged) for SD-1 subs. What would be the best combination of these subs for me to use to get the best bass? I can spend up to $250.

So far the preliminary result is fantastic! I am impressed thus far! This is only with 1 hour of listening, I'll update with much more info in the comming weeks.

I would like to know exactly what it takes on voltage wise and battery wise to run my 3000ds at .5ohm daily to my 2 15" BTL's. Or what would be the best way for me to go to get excellent power from them 3000's. Any input would be great, strapping or wiring to .5ohm since when you factor in imp rise and all that.
