After nearly four years as our best selling product (our first Class-D on the market for that matter) the SAZ-1500D is being re-designed. Everyone knows and loves the current model as it is a powerful, reliable, work horse of an amp but we have been quietly thinking about what to do in order to make a fitting replacement for a while now... I think that everyone will be happy with where it is going Details will be sparse right now but it is going to shrink about 1.6" following our trend of making amps that are more powerful per square inch (SAZ-2500D and SAX-1200D especially). I know that they offer the SD1 and SD1v.2 and that they are coming out with the nightshade but the SD1v.2 is too small for me, does not take enough power and the nightshade takes plenty of power but it appears to be geared towards full blown SPL, correct me if I'm wrong. I was wondering if there are going to be any subs to fill the gap between these woofers, a good daily driving sub that can take a good 2-2.5kw RMS. I was also wondering about the amps. I know that the 1500 will do around 2kw and the 3000 will do around 3.5-4kw. However I was wondering if there are going to be any amps that do in between, maybe a SAE-2000 or 2500. Hey guys was wondering if anybody could tell whats the difference between these (Refurbished, Used, B-stock)?. Iam not trying to bash anyone esp jacob iam jus very interested in the sundown line-up. Looking to buy some amps real soon and doing my research. thanks

Just swapped out my US Amps for some Sundown Audio amps. Sad to see the ol' faithful US Amps go, this was VERY hard to do. I must be a responsible sundown dealer and use the stuff that I sell. I did consider slapping a sundown sticker on the US Amp heatsinks. Old install I still have an Fi Q12 and the Sundown SAZ-1500D is my first ever class D amp. I metered at 140.5 db. Pretty damned good if you ask me for the bass eating BMW trunk. A 2.3db gain since I was metered using the sub brand new with a super stiff suspension. Measured by a termlab in the pass side kick panel. Peak freq was 47hz. The reading might be a little higher since I was inside. Electrical: Stock…

Went to local stereo shop, they bought a new termlab meter. I played 36-42hz tones and peaked at 36 hz with a 147.3, did 147.1 playing lil jon (throw it up). Need to do alot of deadening on roof. Running 2 saz-1500ds strapped on 2 bl 18s. The sundown amps are the best amps I have owned, may get 2 more. Voltage dropped down to the 12s. SUNDOWN AUDIO. Also met Justin Adams who is Sundown rep for alabama, very cool guy.

I am new to the forum, and I am very interested in the sundown amps. I have 3 RE SX D2 10 inch subs that I need power for. Which Sundown would work the best to power these subs? They take 1K rms each. Don't know if I should go with 1 1500d or 2 or....? These are not going to be used for competition, just daily driving. Thanks.

So today was a fun day! I kill both of my NS v1 15inch subs by plugging them into a wall socket! ive got 4 12's that handle 1500 watts max a piece and a box being build to spec.i was wondering if a 1500d would b enough for as3 next year at competition.i am planning on getting a second one the year after and strapping them.im using 0 guage wire and a 100 amp fuse.ive got a factory alt. w a decka intimadator batt. under the hood.will that be enough power and can i run them at.50 oms.?im doing the 4 12's cause i just wanna upgrade amps and batts. the following year.please give me some feed back.i would greatly appreciate it..

Just a general question about wiring the amp. For the terminals for the ground and positive how did you guys affix the wire into the terminal. Did you guys solder the tip of the wire and then screw it down or did you just insert the bare wire and then screw it down? Thanks guys.

First one is complete. This should take care of alot of common and uncommon questions about our woofer dimensions. I am looking into printing them at full scale on our packing boxes as well. I'll be adding them to the X thread when the X drawings are done and will also add them to our site for pretty much every model woofer we make.

Amp for 2 E8v3's d4

I have 2 1500d's, only one is in my car right now. I have an AA havoc 18d2 in the car as well. I am looking to add another 18 soon. My question is: will I get more efficency and power with both amps running seperately at 1 ohm a piece or running strapped at 2 ohms? I have factory electrical(110amp alt) for now, will be upgrading it soon as well. I just want to run the 2 18's without destroying anything in my car. Any help would be appreciated.

So I picked up a 12" nightshade a few weeks ago and today I just happened to be switching the box I had it in so I figured I would put my dmm on the coils just to see what it read. The first one came out right at 1.0, but then the second one reads 1.5. Is that normal? I let it sit for a while too, they would both go up and down by .1, but would eventually rest on the resulting numbers. Is that an issue, or is it fine?

All I can say is wow. No exclamation points. No Caps. They would not do it justice. I have no numbers regarding SPL as am not sure where I would go nearby. I have not swapped out the interior speakers yet but did hook all of the factory speakers to a RF 500a2. I ran a positive and negative cable run of 1/0 Knuconceptz Kolossus cable. As temp power I ran two 4 gauge cables to the positive of the amp and a 1/0 ground. Alpine cda 9884 cd receiver and the Alpine RUX-C701/PXA-H701 controller processor combo.
