Sundown Audio

  1. Started by Kickin Kia,

Hello all. I have a 2007 Kia Sportage with 2 Nightshade Dual 2 ohm 15's powered by a Sundown SAZ 3000D amplifier. I have the Big3 done and everything is deadened except the roof. That will be done with Damplifier Pro in the near future. I have 2 Optima Yellowtop D-34 Batteries in back for the amp and a smaller yellowtop under the hood. Here is a pic of the setup. I turn my subwoofer box up and get better numbers. My best to date is 149 Sealed on the dash. All I want is one more DB. I would appreciate anybodies input on how to gain 1 more db.

  7. ok heres my question (sorry if i seem like an idiot lol), I own a saz-1500d, and im planning on going with a single AQ HDC3 15" but what has had me stumped is if to buy a dual 1 ohm and wire the sub in series and then bridge it to the amp, or would it be a dual 2 ohm wired in parallel and connected to one of the inputs and not bridged, because what im trying to achieve is to have the amp play at 1 ohm at 1500 rms. the reason why i ask is because on the forum here i saw a a post that says the amp is not bridgeable, because it is a 1 ohm mono, but then on the manual the diagram appears as if it is bridgeable if going with a single sub setup, im obviously reading one of th…

I am currently running a Kenwood eXcelon KAC-x40 for my comp set and I have had no issues with any whine or hum coming through my comps. However, yesterday after swapping out my SAE-1000 for the SAE-1200 I now have a whine in my comps when I plug the RCA's into it. With the volume at 0 the whine is still there. I think it is odd that I am getting a whine in my comps when plugging the RCA's into my sub amp. When I remove the RCA's from the SAE-1200 the whine goes away completely. Any insight into this would be more than appreciated. Thanks!!!! Head Unit: Kenwood DNX-5120 4-Channel RCA's: JL Audio XB-CLRAIC4-18 2-Channel/Sub RCA's: JL Audio XB-CLRAIC2-18 Power &a…

Hey guys i had a fast question to ask! I have a new h/u a kenwood KVT-817DVD single-din flip out monitor and it has a processor which it uses inconjuction with the deck. It has a sub pre-out but ONLY 1 and not 2 RCA out puts for the sub. So i was wondering if i need to use 2 sets of RCA's to plug into the amp or can i get away with 1 rca and just turn the gain up? amps: SAZ2000 and SAE1200 sorry if i am unclear on what i am asking. ALSO how do you calculate impedance rise? or do you just hook your DMM meter up to the sub after running the sub for a bit? also i have heard of a device called a AM-500 Accumatches and i was wondering if they are any good? or worth the in…

Four in my Explorer powered by a single saz-3500 @ 0.5ohm. They love it. These subs are truly little beasts. You need to hear them in person to understand just how good they sound and how loud they can get. And they're a good price too. Playing DJ Billy E Playing Gorilla Zoe - Juice Box screwed More vids coming later. Gotta get home to upload them off my actual video camera.

I'm seeing the sale, and I want to pick up another Sundown amp. I seriously don't need a new one right now, but those prices are just to good. I currently run the SAE-1000D to my Mag v3 and I'm happy with the little black amp. I see no reason to replace it. But I am curious, how different is the SAZ-1000D compared to the SAE-1000D? I read about the SAZ being more bulletproof than a SAE but, I'm don't really need to push my amps to their limits. Is the SAZ slightly underrated? (your 1200D amps comes to mind). Now I have 20 more days to decide.

Also, I'm looking at going active setup. Will the built in crossovers in the SAX 100.4 work as an active setup? Thanks

Here is my situation. I am in the process of redoing my system and I am currently only running the Image Dynamics CTX65CS comp set up front. Next I plan on dropping a pair of Image Dynamics CX64 V.2 mid-bass speakers in my rear doors. Between the 50.4 and the 125.2, which do you think I can get the most performance out of? My thinking is that with the 50.4 I have more tuning options, and with the 125.2 I will have more power. Both sets of speakers are 4ohms. What do you think???? I know the 100.4 would be the better option, but I don't have the space to fit it nor do I want to spend that much more.

  24. Hello, I have just purchase a SAZ1000D but I wonder if this amp really accept 0 gauge power wire? I have 0 ga from the battery to a distribution block in the trunk, then 4 ga to my 2 amps. Is it good enough for the Sundown I'm waiting for? Or do I have to change the distribution block to power the new amp with o ga wire? Btw, how long should I wait for the tracking number, pleaaaaaase?!!!! Thanks
