Ok, I'm going to try to make this as easy to understand haha. It's for a 100.2 btw. I went to mock up my amps in my trunk, and in order to retain access to my spare tire, I'm mounting my amps in a certain way. In order to mount it the way I want, I think I need to unbolt the exterior casing, and turn it 180*. Basically my OCD is kicking in, and I want the "sundown" facing in the direction my other amp is facing. I know I can probably unbolt the strip that says sundown, but can I actually rotate the casing like I said? Basically, the 100.2 sticker lies over the power, but can I turn the casing so the sticker lies over the rca inputs? If not, maybe Jacob could hook me up wi…

need specs b/c im designing a box for my 2 10's and dont have them here at college. so i need the depth of the sub and the cut out diameter. and also i plan on porting them and tuning them to 28hz. what is the recommended volume of the box for each sub at that frequency? i know it states 1.00 - 1.25 ft^3 @ 30 - 35 Hz Ported on the 10". but what is the optimal for this situation? thanks

  5. Ok, i've been doing some research about these drivers and my question is: Are these daily woofers? If so what tuning frequency do they like? I am wanting something on the LSQ side but need 2k rms daily powerhandling and low frequency extension ability. I want to tune around 28hz. Does this driver fit the bill? Thanks.

Hey Jacob and the Sundown crew, I had a question that (due to my wording...) may have kept from yielding and useful topics in the searchbar. I have a Nightshade V1 12, and was wondering if it would be beneficial or even feasible to re-cone to a V2. Still on my learning curve about driver components and what does what, but is this a recommended idea? Would YOU do it? Didn't know if it would yield grand results, or if I should just go with a V1 re-cone. Thanks a million!

  8. by looking at your products alone you know your shit about subs. i have a pair of 10's i had built for me a couple years back 60lbs each so there is some serious magnets on them. the bl/re in series is only a 92 im guessing this is due to the coil. if i had it rebuilt to something with twice the motor strength what could i see in output diffrence? current coils are round copper 8layer not sure on what the rest of the specs are. i know they could use a spider spacer for more travel they will hit the top plate before the coil can bottom. is it possible the charge is weak on the magnets?

ok here is the question . Assuming everything is the same. Same car, enclosure built to the specs of the sub ect, ect....... which would sound better and why. A sub with a rms rating of 2000 watts with only 1000 wrms going to it or, a sub with a rms rating of 1000 watts with 1000 wrms going to it????????? hope to see if I'm right.

Ok, so I just got a new 3000d and a 100.4. My HU only had front/rear, no sub pre-amp output. Question is, if I wire the front/rear to the 100.4, if i Use the channel 1/2 output to the 3000d, will I lose my ability to use the hp/lp settings on 1 and 2 or if I do use the hp/lp will it still send a full signal through the 1/2 output? Sorry if I am not being very clear.. front / rear from head unit into 1/2 and 3/4 of the 100.4 1/2 output to 1 on 3000d will using filter controls on 100.4 impact frequency output on 1/2 output channels?

So im on my way to building a new box, right now im using 2 6" aero ports, in a 5.5 cube box for 3 sa 12's. But i want to tune lower and cant with the aeros, so im going to have to go back to slot port. Now my question is what is the pros and cons of small vs big ports, i know people recommend 12-16 per cube, but thats pretty broad. So what would you gain or loose from having a port at 12 per cube, or 16 per cube?? or in the middle. Does the bass get sloppier with a bigger port? (this is all for music by the way)

Ok, just bought a new car and my ported box does not fit. So I need to make a new one. I have a 2008 Civic SI coupe. What I am wondering is speaker/port placement. I am use to SUV's and sub up / port back. I have read with a trunk that sub back / port back is the way to go. Just asking to make sure before I buy the material and build this box. Also, I see that SA 12's are 1.5 to 2.0 for ported boxes. With 1.75 being on there spec sheet. I have 1250 watts to push 2 12's and was wondering. Would it be better to go 1.5 / 1.75 / or 2? And what hz would you recommend? Currently the box I have is 3.5 @ 32hz and sounds ok with JL 12w3's in it. I am playing 70% rap/bass cd…

I'm in need of a sub and amp for a 2011 VW Golf I just picked up. After reading through various reviews I was almost dead set on an Alpine Type R 8". Then I started reading about the SA-8 D4 and how much everyone seems to love them and they trump the Type R's. Here is what I'm after. Small sub that can blend nicely with the stock system but also pound based on what I'm listening to. I listen to audio books (hey, I've got a long commute and it helps ease the road rage) and any type of music, be it country, rap, rock, metal, pop etc... I have $300 to spend on a sub/amp combo. I've already got the MDF to make the sealed box. Size will be somewhere around .45 - .65. SA-…

I am getting ready to buy the sundown 100.4 amp and I have never done this before, but really want to try it. I am going to run the tweets of two channels and the mids off the other two channels. How do I set up the crossovers to do this? I know this may be a dumb question but I have always had external crossover's and want to run this way. Please help.

  16. I've seen this asked before and I thought I knew ""Best Practices" but then in reading, I discovered there are some things about the PRE inputs on teh Sundowns where they don't like certian ""Higher End" RCA cables... Who woulda thunk it???? So, if that was unknown to me, what else is, you know... So my question/scenario is I have: Headunit - Front Stereo Preouts to SAX125.2 Pre-Ins Headunit - Rear Stereo Preouts to SAX 125.2 Pre-Ins No question there, next is the question part. I will be running (4) SAZ-2000D, if I can ever afford the rest of them.... Trying for by Christmas... Should I run from Head Unit Sub Pre Outs w multiple RCA Y Adapters to SAZ-2000D Pre-Ins He…

I was just wondering I notice a lot of direct sales here on the forum and on alot of other forums with great prices. But my question is does this not cut the throat of the dealers by selling direct to consumers and even the ones who go to a retailer to purchase it just seems to be taking money out of the dealers pockets. There is nothing wrong with selling direct but I would just think you are either a direct online manufacturer of a dealer based company?

  19. Hello, I am looking at a 100.4 to run my entire system with CH1/2 running a full range component set and Ch3/4 bridged to a subwoofer. I see in the owners manual that the HPF is a 12db filter but coundn't see what the subsonic is. My primary question is that since there is some overlap in these two filters if I wanted to filter out the fronts at say 60 hz is there a reason to pick one or the other to use or to use a combination of the two? Thanks John
